Had 2 breakfast sandwiches and both of them had a lot of salt. It left such a bad taste that we didn’t eat anything else for the next 5 hours

Delicious food, stressful at peak business. I would go back if in town again. Unilocal guided me in the right direction for a good lunch while on a break from a conference.

My sandwich was amazing and the«sandwich maker» was great and energetic! Nice Boston stop.

I really appreciate having this little grocery store close by, but the service is always horrible. If the owner is around you can get something done, but when he’s not there it’s unbearable. The staff behind the counters are usually congregating in chat. Getting someone to cut you deli and/or hand you what you need is an exercise in futility. You can bet you will never get a thank you. Overall, the selection in the store is very nice, but you will pay premium prices. You’re basically paying for the convenience.

I was staying right next to here on vacation and this was quite a find. All the locals love this place and I know why after eating here several times. We heard a lot of people scoff at this place calling it a run down seven eleven. It’s not at all. This is an awesome bodega with really nice and humorous employees. They have a decent selection of cheap wine if you’re just looking for a decent low price bottle. Their breakfast is fantastic and so inexpensive. Their baked goods are delicious and the usually have fruit that’s pretty fresh and low price. You never wait long and everything they have is way more delicious than you’d expect from a bodega. The have seating for dining inside or outside and while they don’t have quite everything you might find at a standard convenience store, they make up for it with great food.

My friend and I wanted a quick bite to eat without having to sit down in a restaurant and wait forever on a Saturday night when we were staying in this area for a night away. Long story short — this was the BEST gluten-free sandwich I have ever eaten. As someone who is allergic to gluten and has tried nearly every gluten-free bread under the sun, this was the BEST bread and freshest sandwich I have ever eaten. They were very generous with the veggies that they put on my sandwich and all of the condiments and cheese were fresh and delicious. We will absolutely be back to J Pace & Son the next time we visit in Boston. Grab yourself something to eat here the next time you are in the Seaport area. So good!

I moved to the Seaport area last month and my new apartment is a two-minute walk from J. Pace. It’s a blessing to have this gem around the corner. Their sandwiches are absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Caprese sandwich. I could eat one of those per day. Their salads are also really good and their breakfast menu is great. It’s a small and charming mom-and-pop kind of market but if you’re in a pinch and need something at the last minute, they usually have it. They also have a large selection of cheeses, beer and wine. In addition, the employees are always happy and welcoming to the customers. When I had a housewarming party, I called to ask about catering. They gave me an email address and the process was painless. They had my sandwich platter ready the next day at the exact time I asked for. Everyone loved the food and I couldn’t have been happier.

I often go out to the pier to watch the planes, the cruise ships or even to fish. I always stop at J. Pace for a sandwich. They have a bunch of hearty, creative sandwich offerings! All are great except the Reuben. They dont grill the bread so it gets soggy and falls apart. Avoid the Reuben. A bag of crunchy chips and a homemade sweet makes for a perfect day watching all the activity in the harbor!

I work down the street and have always recommended this place to the people I work with! Their sandwiches are wicked good, the service behind the counter is a little intimidating if you don’t know what you are ordering so I suggest looking ahead as the lines are crazy(especially during the summer!) They have more than just good sandwiches, they offer hot food, all sorts of goodies and part of the store is an Italian little grocery store inside. Worth the price because all their food is delicious!

Good selection of cold and hot sandwiches. Had a Salami and provolone sandwich, fairly priced for the serving size and quality. They also have wine and beer for sale. A good place to grab a quick lunch.

Great lunch option in the Seaport. Love their cranberry walnut chicken salad. Great selection of sandwiches and hot food items. Has a small grocery area too.

Waited 20 min for a breakfast sandwich. This place needs help. Or management at least.

The food here never looked good but I was in the mood for a chicken salad sandwich, the kind the Sam LaGrassa’s makes. The disgusting slop that was plopped onto a stale roll by an ice cream scoop, was the first and ABSOLUTELY the last time I will ever eat here. Not only was the salad some ugly creamed version of a chicken salad but the taste was horrible. DONOTEATHERE!

Great breakfast reasonable prices. I had eggs toast hash browns toast and coffee that was better than Starbucks. The breakfast sandwiches are a bargain and look huge and fabulous. Deli style ordering with a great area to eat. Views of the harbor and Legals.

I got a great breakfast sandwich that was made-to-order and tasted just as good as mom’s. They aren’t selfish with the meat or the cheese, the croissant was fresh and soft and not too buttered. The staff was very nice and attentive and the owner was making sure all clients were happy and taken care of.

GREAT sandwiches! I got a green monstaah which was chicken, fresh mozarella, basil, and pesto and it was big and delicious. You can tell they run a really tight ship as it seemed really clean and they’re pretty friendly to boot. You can tell someone is running it that is obsessed with the details and I appreciate that. It’s a great value, especially when you consider the neighborhood it’s in(lots of pricey restaurants)

I will give it 5 stars which I don’t do very often. This is the best deli in Boston hands down. Everything is homemade, the sandwiches are packed with food. The variety in the store is really nice. From meatball subs to prepared foods to go you can’t go wrong. Love the place

We recently stayed at the Westin Waterfront Hotel, and were very happy to find this lovely little store within walking distance. It’s not a full service grocery store, but it has pretty much everything that a hotel-dweller might need — perishable and non-perishable groceries, alcohol, a deli counter, and baked goods. The prices were reasonable, and the employees were friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you’re staying in a hotel near the area or attending a conference at the convention center, which is just a few blocks away.

There aren’t too many options for a quick breakfast in the seaport area, so J Pace defaults to a fairly high ranking. With that said, the breakfast sandwiches are so good! They are made to order, huge, piping hot, and so affordable. An egg and cheese on croissant/english muffin/bagel is $ 3.25. The other hot breakfast items are also very good — fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs etc. I would note that the bagels are not anything special. They are you run of the mill bulk order bagels. Order first the at the deli counter, wait to receive your order, then pay at the cash register. There is also a huge seating area towards the very right of the store.

This J Pace & Son location is an easy walk from the Seaport World Trade Center. Along the interior wall is a counter where you may order your sandwich or some prepared foods over on the right, some shelves of packaged foods to the left of the entrance, and a couple of cash registers where you can pay and head out to the tables set along the sidewalk, or over to a separate internal sitting area with a pair of bathrooms for their patrons. We came here during the Boston Comic Con so they were offering a more succinct menu — aka no hot sandwiches. That made me sad. I prefer warmed or pressed sandwiches generally, but I made do and ordered the Pavillion $ 7.25(warm roast beef, American cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon bits, on an onion roll). Pleasantly, the roast beef was warm even though the sandwich itself was not toasted or anything. The bacon bits added a nice contrast of textures. The sandwich itself was just a tad too much for my appetite, but I ate it all, and regretted it a smidge.
