OK, first with this place you gotta factor in the fact that this is a strictly temporary deal: it was made for the crowds leaving Cirque D Soliel(hope I got that right… if not, my apologuiques to Jacques Shirac and Jacques Cousteau and Jacques Sheete for that matter ;)., Second, the fact that it is a trailer, with a few big canopies and outdoor seating of eclectic style and arrangement. Erected in a parking lot. That said, said parking lot happens to abut the harborside walk that connects the Aquarium to Northern Ave/Fan Pier(just before the old Anthonys Pier 4). This means it has a waterfront view, and you can hit the circus, concerts at the Pavillion etc in a few minutes and the North End, Faneuil Hall etc with a modest walk after you come here(or before).(And speaking of parking lots, the three across the street are 11, 12 and 13 $ for the day, so this is a perfect launching pad for all manner of suburbanite Boston hijinx…) In fact, if you happen to be in the neighborhood on a Sunday evening, as rumor has it, you may wind up partying with the circus performers.(They have Monday off… and they are circus performers. you do the math…) OK so we had the tuna burgers(10 bucks) with fries and onion rings(2 $ each) and the white bean dip with home-made pita chips(6 $). The menu prices are tax included – it was 30 $ for all the food. All were superb after a brisk boat excursion in the harbor. The drinks from the canopied bar were not very cheap(6 $ for a Harpoon draft and 8 $ for a Pinot Grigio) so you will spend more on drinks fast, but the food is ordered at a counter and paid for, so there is no tipping on the food. They bring it to your table on plastic plates, barbeque style, and you throw the empty plates out yourself if it’s windy. Lol. All that said, this place is great for impromptu or location-convenient socializing and sustenance-taking. Any night I have barhopped and/or seen a show in town, I would have totally enjoyed that kickass Tuna Burger on the water, weather permitting. And I gotta drop in on a Sunday night before August ends! I think they are breaking down the tents in September. Oh, and somebody said they had«really bad music.» I heard a deep cut Radiohead song and some non-hit Pearl Jam. I think it was one of those online mix sites. I liked the music a lot. Maybe somebody that worked there started a Genius list off Tiny Tim or something the night that person went… Or they expected Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber… I dunno…

While the atmosphere on the pier is amazing on a wonderful day, I feel that a lot more effort needs to be put into the food. An inexperienced shucker left chunks of shells in my oysters, and they were served without lemon, cocktail sauce, Tabasco, or any other condiments. I thought a 14 dollar lobster roll was to good to be true, and it was. I’ll let the photo speak for itself. Although if you love lettuce, you may enjoy it. Instead of 1 star, I gave it 2, since it hasn’t been open very long. I would expect higher quality coming from Legal Seafood however.

Seriously bad music, mixed tasteless décor, OK food and drink selection(basic is good here). Easy and easy-going, fun. Nice idea, great location. Just as if someone a bit too stiff was behind it. Lighten up!
