Best LOCOMOCO in Boston! Tried their new Cubano sandwich and it’s delicious — highly recommend it. Friendly service, quality food.

The food’s okay. Not great. I had the chicken curry, $ 6. It featured some chicken, mostly rice, eggplant, and some greens on the side. The sauce was unremarkable and not very flavorful. I wanted to try a spam musubi, but was told«the Watertown health department won’t let us serve them» — despite it being on the menu. Please, cross it out or something. I think I found out why this food truck always has the shortest line.

Tried Lilo’s Plate in hopes to order the spam musubi, but they always run out. Anyways, I decided to try the Chicken Island Curry. I did not really like anything about it. The chicken in the curry were shredded and I barely got any on my dish. I had mainly the curry sauce and potatoes over rice. For flavor, it was very VERY bland and was extremely mild. In my opinion the island curry chicken was flavorless and boring. I would come back to HOPEFULLY try the spam musubi one day.

The Turbo Moco is really good. I have to ask for extra gravy to make sure it isn’t a little too dry, but it doesn’t cost anything extra and they are more than happy to give you extra. Really hits the spot and a great lunch to end the week. It isn’t too heavy a meal, so you can have it without worrying about a food coma. Yet, at the same time, it’s plenty of food to really satisfy a big hunger. I have come to this truck each Friday for the past few weeks and I see myself doing it again in weeks to come.

Great concept! Not to mention a beautiful truck! Devoured my loco moco within minutes! The dish: Tender beef patty served with an over-easy egg on rice, and topped with delicious gravy. Looking forward to my next visit! Strong work guys!

I love food. A lot of different types. I consider myself a really open-minded person when it comes to food. I’ll try anything once! That being said, this place fell flat for me. Having never been to Hawaii and never eaten any sort of Hawaiian food, maybe I’m not the best judge of this food truck. Maybe I don’t «get» Hawaiian food(which is apparently the case because the other reviews are 4 – 5 stars so far.) I typically eat vegetarian for lunch so I ordered the veggie curry dish. The curry, to me, was really uninspired. Granted, I’m used to flaming hot vindaloo and I realize that this isn’t Indian curry, but even if they wanted to make a mild curry, they could have made it a bit more flavorful. The rice was your basic plain white rice. It was soggy and clumpy in places. The vegetables were fine, they looked like freshly chopped veggies(vs. them just taking the easy route and using the frozen stuff). The worst part of the dish was probably the side dish. In all the pictures on both their facebook page and actual food truck, each dish is portrayed as coming with a side of some kind of slaw. For some reason I received macaroni salad with my dish. I HATE macaroni salad. mostly because I hate hate hate mayonnaise. But again, I tried to be open minded so I tasted it. Pure mayo. Bleh. I wish they would have told me or at least had a sign stating that the slaw had been replaced by macaroni salad. Again, maybe not the best judge of this type of food, but this truck is definitely a «pass» for me. I ate at most 5 bites and threw the rest in the trash. 2 stars because the service was fast, the food is well-priced, and it’s edible.

Excellent value, 6 dollars for a fresh, delicious, relatively healthy plate of chicken, veggies and rice. Generous portion, too. Friendly, fast service. This will be a staple of mine, whenever possible.

I like Lilo’s Plates. I wish I could love them. Loco Moco — beef patties are tender, the egg is egg-cellent, but the rice is sadly mushy and soggy. If they fixed this, this dish would **almost** be like it’s from the island. Island Curry(Vegetarian) — same issue here. The curry has a great Japanese curry inspiration, meaning it’s a little more mild and not spicy at all. The rice was again, soggy! I wish they would fix this. Spam Musubi — I freaking love their spam musubis. Their version has the seaweed wrapped all the way around. I always go to Lilo’s before noon because«quantity is limited» and you definitely do not want to miss out on them. Some girl in front of me got 5 spam musubis today and the stranger behind me went«AWCOMEON! Save some for the rest of us!» $ 10 min for CC

The Island Curry is one of the best curries I have ever had. And for the price it really is something I crave and seek out when I want something good! The Loco Moco really hits the spot as well.
