Les vendeurs sont tres professionnels et l’accueil fut parfait. Le magasin est sobre et très joliment décoré. J’hésitais a acheter un sac et la vendeuse m’a bien conseillée. Depuis je sors avec mon sac Marc Jacobs des que l’occasion se présente!

I am a huge fan of Marc Jacobs and he is easily my favorite designer. What I love about this store is that while it is a more expensive, upscale place, you don’t feel like it when you’re here. The employees are always so kind and I could come in here looking horrible (which I sometimes do!) and they will treat you just the same.

I love Marc Jacobs products. I don’t want this review in any way to reflect my feelings about what the Marc Jacobs store sells. They have a great selection of Marc Jacobs products, many of which are not available in department stores or even online.
I came into the store and was warmly greeted by their staff of good looking hipster boys. After a little while of shopping, I found some items I wanted to purchase and was ready to go. There were several employees hanging out at the register. None of these employees acknowledged I was even standing there. I politely asked if I could be rung up and they kept saying «just a moment,» which I would be totally understanding of if they were doing something, but only one of them was in the middle of a transaction. Then, one of them rang up another customer who was BEHIND me in line. I was waiting there for about 10 minutes total. I left feeling disrespected. Later in the day I looked in my bag and noticed they hadn’t put my necklace in a box or even wrapped it in tissue (which i had seen them do for other customers while i was waiting). Seriously?

I absolutely love Marc Jacobs’ clothing, bags, and accessories.
I went here with a friend yesterday and she wanted to buy some necklaces and rings. The guy at the cash register was already ringing someone up (my friend and I and this other customer were the ONLY people in the store) so he attempted to call over the other employee in the store, a girl. She decided she was too busy to come over and do her job. He had to yell across the store to her in front of us (at least 3 times), making us feel like we were disturbing their super busy (not) store. It was absolutely insane. No one said sorry for this behavior. I cannot believe such a high end store would hire employees that treat customers like garbage.

Love love love Marc Jacobs. He is a fashion genius, and his products are nothing short of phenomenal. This store does not disappoint. It’s smaller than some of the other Marc stores I’ve been to, but this particular store holds a special place in my heart.
The staff here is SO NICE. They’re really helpful, and super chatty. Don’t be surprised if they start making small talk with you while you shop.
The clothing selection is not huge, but they have a pretty big selection of the special items and accessories, which is awesome.
I never miss this shop when I’m in town.

This store is the reason I had to go cold turkey on the Improper Bostonian for a few months. You know what, though? That incredible sweater that had me dong some fancy maths to keep my checking account from going into the red? I still go into my closet and it shines on me like a beacon of fashion in a sea of clothing that has long since lost its luster. Even after having to take it to the dry cleaner (twice!) because of some mishaps with Fernet Branca, it’s still as beautiful as the day I brought it home over a year ago.
This is not the store for everyday shopping (unless it is and I kinda sorta hate you for it), but it’s perfect for the occasional statement piece that will liven up even the most basic pair of Express blue jeans. This particular store seems to cater a bit to the tourist set, what with the vast array of affordably-​priced trinkets at the register, but the sales people are polite (and quite fashionable, I might add), and the clothing is, well, it’s Marc Jacobs.
Show me a woman that doesn’t like Marc Jacobs. Seriously, show me.

Marc Jacobs on Newbury was a bit of a disappointment. I love Marc Jacobs and loved the store in Soho, NY. Maybe I shouldn’t have compared the two but oh well…
This store number one, off the bat, was steaming hot! Like, as in the temperature, it was muggy and hot! This could have been one of the factors as to why I did not prefer this one.
The selection seemed to be minimal, the shoes were limited in sizes, however, if you are in the market for a Marc Jacobs sharpee, this is your store because there were plenty of those in every color. I think there may be a reason for that.
We were 2 of about 4 – 5 people in the store and the sales associates did not greet us, look at us, or acknowledge that anyone was in the store. Maybe they were sleepy from how hot it was in the store.

Got sunglasses, watch, laptop bag from MJ. Great style and the layout of the store is pretty cool. It’s MJ, the name speaks for itself…

I love Marc Jacobs. Like, really really love Marc Jacobs but because Hawai’i doesn’t have a real MJ store, I make a point of trying to find one when I go on vacation hence why I frequent this lovely Newbury location whenever I go to Boston.
The store isn’t huge (women’s upstairs, men’s downstairs) but it offers a wide selection of products. You can get everything from Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags and clothing to trinkets like keychains, rings, etc. for a really good price. I’ve actually seen a store in Hawai’i that buys this stuff in bulk and then re-​sells it for double the price. I’m pretty sure that is illegal but that’s neither here nor there.
The customer service is pretty great. The sales associates that I’ve bought stuff from in the past know that Hawai’i doesn’t have a store so they make a huge effort to email/​snail mail me lookbooks and other stuff, in case I wanna order anything. Ladies and gentlemen, THAT is fantastic service.

Well Marc Jacobs products speak for themselves. Cute bags and jewelry and charming wallets.
I normally get my Marc Jacobs through Saks but I went into the Newbury Store because Saks didn’t have the type of wallet I was looking for.
Conclusion– Marc Jacobs at Newbury has the best service hands down.
1) Encounter I — I went in not sure what I want in a wallet but sure what I didn’t want. One of those impulse days when you want to blow stress. The person helping me didn’t mind taking out all the wallets I was interested in. I settled on the Zip Clutch but the colors they had weren’t hitting the spot. However, I thought I would settle with the beige. At the last moment, I saw another wallet that I thought was better. He changed it for me without complaining.
2) Encounter II– So do to my last minute impulse change, I wanted to check that MJ didn’t post the wrong amount to my BOA card. I called in bc the wrong amount was posted. Eddy, the manager at MJ, promised to look into it right away and explained what he thought the possible problem was. (Boston/​Cambridgers — Last time I had this kind of issue — Chez Henri charged me double and never took off the charge…) However, true to his word– Eddy called within 6 hours to say that he checked all the credit receipts and that the right price would be posted. Gave me his card and told me to call back if the wrong charge posted when it did. (Turns out instead of voiding– bc it was such a last minute switch on my part– they changed the price at the first transaction.)
Now that would be 4 star worthy… the whole time– Eddy and the girl at the register (I didn’t get her card so I’m afraid that my project for tomorrow replaced any useful short-​term memory…) were smiling and completely understanding.
The fifth star comes because at the last minute– I asked if they had the wallet I first wanted in another color… Since the original reason I switched was due to the fact that the colors just didn’t hit home. They do in a NY store. They offered to overnight it for free because I’m leaving on Saturday and I need it then. Even with the whole price change mix-​up, they said they would just adjust the price and charge me the difference when I came to pick up the wallet. No frowns, no irritation. :)
I think from now on, I’ll come to Newbury.

Style-​wise, I never really considered myself a Marc Jacobs kind of girl. Their stuff usually doesn’t mesh with my everyday look, and the prices are above and beyond what I let myself spend. But, every so often, they’ve got a winner and I have to say, their customer service is simply awesome. Every salesperson and manager I’ve encountered is so helpful, sincerely nice, and professional. Plus they never seem annoyed or bored with you if you take a long time to make a decision. They offer their opinion when appropriate and seem into all of their pieces. What can I say? I’m impressed.
One drawback is their return policy, which is 14 days with original packaging and receipt. Even if you meet those guidelines, you only get store credit. So, don’t feel guilty about spending extra time making a decision before each purchase. They understand.

The downstairs is men and it’s a little bit more relaxed, possibly because there are a lot less tourists perusing the shelves for key chains and pens.
I love the little accessories in the men’s department and the watches. Ah! Glad they moved the women’s into the upstairs, too. More space = more product.

I specifically went here to look for colored t-​shirts to use for layering.
I was not disappointed, they had all kinds of colors for any look that you are trying to complement, both crew neck and long sleeve henleys.
Nice staff and decent prices.
They do have a weird return policy, essentially all sales are final. Kinda weird, but OK then.

I LOVE Marc Jacobs. I have not had the privilege to purchase a lot because I’m a poor college student. Gasp, I said it. But I would absolutely die to have one of his suits. Preferably with him still wearing it. But I digress…
This location was small and cramped, it got crowded quickly (granted, it was a Saturday afternoon), and no one said one word to me. I was holding an H&M bag and am suspicious that they ignored me, figuring I probably wouldn’t buy anything.
I hate to say that I discovered the clothing just won’t fit me. It’s made for boys who are perhaps just a bit taller than I. I’m 5’1, and their XS sweater was a bit too large for my liking. I’m holding out for the day I can afford the suit, and the tailoring to make it look as sexy on me as the models.
Note: the one in Chicago was fantastic and the staff friendly as all get-​out.

I spend far too much money at this store on copious amounts of things like rain boots and tote bags and t-​shirts. Everything is really cute and if you avoid getting things like keychains, is also actually wearable/​useful. I love Marc and all of his lines, and this store is a gem.
The staff can occasionally be dismissive if I’m buying, like, one pair of flip-​flops. Once it was so bad that I had to refrain from snottily saying something like «Look, I don’t want to be rude, but you record everything I buy on that little customer database of yours, NOT TO MENTION I am wearing an expensive-​ass Marc Jacobs sweater, so fuck off.»
However, lately they’ve been a lot nicer… and better-​looking. Some sexy tattoos and hair going on there.
Finally, yes, the condoms are cute, but they are surprisingly small. Ahem. Be forewarned.

The service here is A+ and on point, whether you’re calling from halfway across the country or walking in the door. Marc Jacobs offers great products with price points all across the board, with every item up at bat.
My friends and I walked out of here impressed and stocked up with all the bags, key chains and belts we could ever need at a great price. Now if only I could get a new pair of mouse flats that are identical to my old ones…

The employees here can be pissy but it’s worth braving their moods to get access to a little trove of treasures. You can pick up sleek silver keychains for $ 3, or really cool tote bags for $ 15. I’ve found really fun (and cheap!) jewelry here and have gotten a lot of gifts… no one needs to know how much you paid for their Marc Jacobs trinket! The store also has clothing (meh) and high end bags/​shoes but the real fun is in these random treasures. Did I mention you can get purple designer condoms for $ 1 a piece? Perfect stocking stuffer…

I love Marc Jacobs stuff in general but I like this store better then his other ones there are two storeis here. The only downsides is that it gets crowded during the weekends and holidays.
The staff here is more helpful then other Marc Jacobs locations and his the prices range from $ 1 – 600 dollars. I personally like the flip flops for $ 10 and the keychains for $ 5 and the coin purses for $ 11. Check out the lower priced line it’s worth checking out and the keychains and stuff make great gifts especially for the shopaholics that love Marc Jacobs.

This is definitely my favorite store on Newbury Street and my favorite designer. I think though that the store is pretty small but not like it used to be now it has 2 floors the bottom one is dedicated to men and the top is for women. It does get crowded on the weekends and holidays like you can’t barely walk properly because there’s too much people. The staff is very nice except for this guy who’s usually at the counter, everytime I go to this store he’s being sort of rude but except for him the others are very helpful. When they’re on SALE you can get nice stuffs at a really low price. Most shoppers here are Asians and Caucasians and pretty much upscale people or yuppies. I’m pretty sure that I’m the only one in my school that shops here and they always compliment my outfits. I dump my (parent’s) thousands of dollars here already. It’s just addictive.

Hey guys and girls, do you secretly love Urban Outfitters clothing, but want to be all angry and not support some «huge corporation»? Well this is your chance to spend three times the amount of money, get 2.65% better quality, and yet still look like you fell out of Urban Outfitters. Sweet deal!
Marc By Marc Jacobs is kind of another one of those stepping stones for people trying to find a clothing identity. Where eurotrash and high thinking go to Diesel, the ones that want to be hipper, rebel against Louis Vutton, Burberry, Coach, etc, all go to Marc by Marc Jacobs. Which is ironic considering they all hang out together anyways and all end up carrying the same purse, or that stupid totebag that proudly proclaims that yes, you bought it from Marc Jacobs.
The amount of cheap accessories definitely gives the store a minus one. The front half feels like it should be in So Good! I’m pretty sure if there were tiara’s, I’d be seeing clueless girls wearing Marc Jacobs tiara’s around.
Go to Stel’s. Go to Barney’s. Go to Louis Boston. Don’t be stuck in the trap! Do it for olé Tristan, okay?

Wait, a designer store where people are nice and don’t act all smarmy.
I seem to find a good portion of these on Newbury St.
The clothing is expensive, and I won’t really spend $ 200 on a tank top if I can get it at TJ Maxx or Filene’s for much less.
They still have some great wristlets and jewelry that won’t break the bank.
Regardless of it I spend $ 20 or $ 200 I’m always treated the same and hte staff is friendly.
