Michael was SUCH AN AMAZING DJ.
Michael came recommended to me by a friend who had attended her friend’s wedding, and both my husband and I could not have been happier with our choice. Michael was an extraordinary DJ and he kept the party going all night — I don’t think the dance floor emptied once! He was extremely professional and didn’t do any gimmicky stuff to draw attention to himself (long winded introductions, cheesy games/​songs, etc) — he made sure the night was about both my husband and I. He met with us beforehand to go over song requests for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and was sure to get our somewhat unique song requests for the night. Beyond the few songs we requested (and the few we were dead set against) we just let Michael do his thing and pick the music himself and we could not have been more pleased — he knew exactly what song to play next and how to keep the energy up. My biggest fear for my wedding was having an empty dance floor… his advice to me was «the crowd goes where the bride goes — if you’re on the dance floor, they will be too» and he could not have been more right — I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun dancing in my entire life. Seriously.
Michael also provided our uplighting and acted as our wedding coordinator and did a fantastic job at these two tasks as well.
Our wedding could not have been more perfect, and we owe a lot of that to Michael — we could not recommend him enough!

Mike was the DJ at our outdoor wedding, the day Ray Bourque won the Cup. He was awesome. He did a great job getting everyone on the dance floor. Our reception was 8 hours long and Mike kept it going the ENTIRE time! He was funny, accommodating, well-​dressed and did everything we asked. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! :)

DJ Michael O’Neil was fantastic! My husband and I are very particular when it comes to our music, Michael listened to us and curated all the music to our tastes while keeping people on the dance floor the entire time. He was very professional and super easy to work with. I would highly recommend.

Michael was the DJ at our Cambridge Muliticultural Arts Center wedding this Fall and he was the best decision we made throughout the entire planning process. The dance floor was packed the entire night with our guests dancing to song after song of awesomeness. He played all of our requested songs and all of the songs that he chose on his own were spot on. So many guests (young and old) came up to me during the night to tell me that the playlist was incredible.
More importantly, Michael knows his stuff. Like all brides, I was a little nervous about how the night would go. I didn’t have a wedding planner to make sure everything flowed perfectly so I relied a lot on creating a schedule beforehand and making sure the vendors were all in agreement. You may not expect a DJ to have a big role in the logistics of the evening, but they certainly do. From the cocktail hour, to dinner, to the toasts, cake cutting, and parent dances, Michael’s experience shines during weddings and he knows how to make the night pass seamlessly. We started planning with him almost a year and half before our wedding day and he was by far the most responsive and nicest vendor we worked with. He even edited our first dance song for us. Once he knew what our ideas were for our event, he reassured us not to worry about anything and he executed every detail perfectly.
If you need a DJ, Michael is your guy. We found him using Unilocal and the reviews could not be more accurate; he is incredible and deserves every single one of these accolades.

Michael was extremely professional and easy to work with. He covered all of our requests, including some rather «out there» songs. A bunch of the guests told us how great the musical selection was and how well it was managed throughout the evening, including being able to carry on a conversation at dinner without being drowned out by the music. We cannot thank him enough for the wonderful evening he facilitated. I even danced so much I lost 2 lbs!

Michael was a pleasure to work with. He ran our wedding beautifully and we appreciate all he did to make our wedding a success. He is the kind of DJ we wanted. He was not the stand up comic on the microphone playing games. What he did was play great music and run everything smoothly. We could not be happier with our experience.

We just had Michael DJ our wedding reception at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center and he was fantastic! We could tell from our first meeting that he’s a total professional, and knows how to create the type of party you’re looking for by asking some great questions and filling in the rest with his expertise. Another thing we loved about him — Michael doesn’t do that heavy-​handed self-​promotion thing. No banners or signs, just great announcing and music that kept our evening on track and got everyone on the dance floor!
Michael made the music planning process really simple, with great song suggestions for some key moments. Our song list was kind of all over the place, but he turned it into a great playlist for the night! He was always on top of the crowd’s mood and adjusted to keep the energy up. The music was so good he even had my mom dancing, which I didn’t think was possible!
I highly recommend hiring Michael if you have the opportunity!

No need to look any further for a DJ, you will get the best with Michael! I can’t tell you what an amazing dance party Michael created for us. I received countless complements on Michael’s DJ skills during and after our reception. You know it is a fabulous party when guests yell for the DJ to play more music when the night comes to a close! Leave any anxiety at the door after you book with Michael, you will be getting the best!

Michael is, quite seriously, the best DJ anyone could as for at any type of event. He DJed our wedding at the end of October and it made the night perfect. We met him twice before the wedding and after our first meeting we knew he would be great. Our second meeting walked through his detailed checklist of important song moments for the big day and we were able to be as picky as we wanted with some songs and then leave the rest up to him.
The day of the wedding, he arrived early and set up two different systems (our ceremony was outside). It was colder than planned so our cocktail hour moved inside and was too crammed for music. I thought we might lose some of the songs we picked but Michael managed to pull out the perfect ones and play them as guests got seated in the dining area. No less than 5 people stopped me to ask about the DJ and get a copy of the music he played that night (and that was before the dancing even started!). He kept the dance floor busy all night long and our guests had a great time. We really liked that he doesn’t get on the mic any more than he needs to and announced the major songs at the reception so the guests could make note of them if they wanted. He is absolutely the best DJ we could have wanted and would recommend him to anyone that ever asks. If you’re thinking about using him, just go for it because it is totally worth it!

If you love to dance and want a DJ who’s laid back and willing to listen to you, book Michael – we are so glad we did. He exceeded our expectations and we had such a good time! He helped make the ceremony perfect with excellent timing and fading of music and the addition of a crucial set of microphones that made the ceremony seamless. We got endless compliments on the reception music from our guests. Our friends love to dance and were looking forward to the music more than anything, and Michael did not disappoint. He played our request list, plus peppered in various last minute requests from our guests, and some of his own choices that rocked! He read the crowd well and made great transitions. We are so glad that we found Michael and couldn’t recommend him more highly!

My friends told us that a key ingredient to a successful wedding is to have a great DJ. What’s one to do? Unilocal,of course. I saw all the great reviews for Michael, and what can I say other than they’re well deserved.
We met Michael once and felt instant at ease with him. He sent us a song list and we used it as a guide to pick out our songs. On the day of our wedding, our friends told us that they loved our music selection. We did absolutely nothing – it was all Michael.
He was extremely easy going and kept everything on pace. All in all, everyone had a blast.

My wife and I have been to a lot of weddings in the past couple of years and the DJ really sets the tone for the party. A friend of ours booked Michael for his wedding and we had a blast. Michael and Brett were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish at our December wedding. My husband and I got married December 29^th and as most may remember, there was an impending 8 to 10 inches of snow forecasted (of course we got less than an inch), anyway, Michael and Brett kept people on the dance floor from start to finish and everyone complemented me on how much fun the music was. My husband and I were referred to DJ Michael through our wedding planner. We were looking for a DJ who would be able to create the party atmosphere we were looking for, without being that overbearing DJ who won’t stop talking. DJ MIchael was absolutely perfect! He was completely flexible and accommodating when it came to our schedule (we were planning the MA wedding from CA) and was even willing to Skype with us when we first spoke to him. He really put us at ease and we were totally comfortable with him after our first conversation. He was very professional throughout the entire planning process, and made sure he got a good feel for what we liked and didn’t like when it came to music, announcements, etc.
DJ Michael brought his assistant, Corey, to help him on the day-​of, and they were both so professional and really put as at ease. They took the time to come talk to us before announcements, made sure they had all the pronunciations down, entertained our guests special requests, etc. Most importantly, they really kept the music going so well the entire night that both we and our guests were dancing the whole night and have a great time! There was never a moment where a particular song cleared the dance floor, and I never felt like he was playing a song that didn’t fit what we were looking for.
My husband and I would both recommend DJ Michael in a heartbeat!

We had Michael DJ our wedding at The Lenox Hotel on Nov 10^th and couldn’t be happier with his work. He played all the songs we asked for, added in some great songs to keep the party going, and helped move the reception along smoothly without being over bearing or obnoxious like some wedding DJs. He is truly a class act and great at what he does. We had such an amazing time, we only wish we could do it all over again!

Michael was our DJ at our wedding three weeks ago. He was AMAZING! Hiring him was truly one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding because he absolutely made the party.
Prior to the wedding, Michael was so easy to talk to and he listened to everything that we wanted for our wedding. We met with him twice and he captured every detail of what we wanted. He also helped us brainstorm on songs to use throughout the night and made great suggestions.
The day of our wedding, it rained cats and dogs, causing us to move our ceremony to an indoor location. This meant that Michael and Brett (his assistant for the night) had to set up in three locations instead of two — ceremony, cocktail hour, reception. They did this with no complaint and the entire flow of the night was completely seamless even with the separate locations.
During the reception, Michael was amazing. He knows exactly how to keep the night on track without being too overbearing. He is definitely not one of those flashy DJs, but he kept the energy and flow going the whole night. It was perfect. I had several people comment to me during the reception that it was the best music that they had heard at a wedding — and the dancing hadn’t even started! Once it was time for everyone to dance, our floor was packed the entire night. We had a great crowd and I knew people would dance but this was more than I expected. Even people who I know don’t really like to dance were out on the dance floor the entire night. I have no doubt that this is very much due to the amazing songs Michael and Brett played the entire time.
I really can’t say enough about Michael! He was great to work with from beginning to end and I felt like we were in great hands the entire time. He did an absolutely flawless job at our wedding. To top it off, his rates are completely reasonable! I will be recommending him to anyone I know who needs a DJ!

Michael did an amazing job at our recent wedding! In all the conversations leading up to the event, Michael was quick with answering questions we have and making sure he asked the right questions to be sure he could provide the best service he could.
We provided a list of what music we wanted for each event and Michael took it from there. In fact, never once did I ever think «why did he play that?!» during the entire evening. He also asked us what songs we didn’t want to hear at all and based off that list, he knew exactly what we were looking for and did an amazing job. To take it one step further during the reception, he always came to me asking if requests from guests were okay. Making sure we were happy and our guests had a good time were his first priority.
I highly recommend and can’t thank Michael enough for his talent and his hard work in making our day a success!

A friend referred me and then she had Michael as DJ at her wedding as well — and once again, a great success! I didn’t have a wedding planner, so had so much on my plate. Michael is, simply put, a fantastic DJ.
We felt comfortable with him the moment we met him, and he and his team made our wedding amazing. We were very nervous about finding the right DJ for our wedding. We had been to too many other weddings where the DJ was obnoxious, was too «chatty,» played corny songs, or otherwise did a poor job reflecting the personality of the bride and groom.
When we first talked to Michael we expressed those concerns and he understood immediately what we were looking for. He promised not to talk much, not to tell anyone to «get this party started» and not to play any corny wedding songs (unless we specifically requested them!). He then told us his philosophy when it comes to DJ’ing. He said his goal of a DJ was to manage the mood of the night: to play a slow song when everyone is getting tired, to play a big hit to help bring a quiet room to life, and to make every last person get out of their seat to party.
On the day of the wedding he was even better than we’d hoped. Our wedding was 80% people aged 25 – 32, and he knew just what songs would get everyone on the dance floor. Additionally, he was very responsive. When our Jewish friends requested the Horah, Michael sought us out to make sure that would be ok. He also mentioned that some people had requested country songs, but he would only play those if we approved. He definitely understood that we’re not country music kind of folks. :)
His best moment may have been following the raucous Horah with «Shout». It pretty much brought down the house, with the floor simply alive with people. It was those kind of inspired pairings, and the seamless flow between genres, that made the night so special. And he played everything, from Sam Cooke to Journey to Elvis to Cee-​Lo or Katy Perry, and even Sir-​Mix-​a-​Lot. He covered all the bases.
A number of people told us how great a DJ he was. But the highest compliment came when I walked up behind two guests, only to overhear their conversation about how great a job he was doing. It takes a pretty special DJ to have wedding guests engage in a conversation with each other about how good he is. Michael is that kind of special DJ.
