Monument was very professional and considerate of the urgency in finding a job. Brooke Hirschfeld was my recruiter and I cannot say enough good things about her. She found jobs that were exactly what I wanted and in fields I had never considered (she was helping me amidst a big career change). She was always very professional and courteous and I got the sense that the whole company has a similar mindset (although Brooke really can’t be beat!). Overall, I would definitely recommend Monument even if you haven’t considered a staffing agency… I went in hoping for a temp job while looking for a full time position on my own and they beat me to the latter! They found me a permanent position at a top-​tier hospital in Boston and it was just too good to turn down. I accepted the offer within 2 days and felt obliged to write them a good review because I never would have found this job without them! Thank you Monument (Brooke!)!!!

A star for at least being nice or pretending to be. Other than that it was awful time wasting experience. They bring you in, act like they care about the type of work youre looking for, upon hearing what youre looking for they go «look for an ideal job» and come back with probably the same job they offer anyone who goes in there looking for work. A temp job that isnt anything what youre looking for professionally or monetarily and try to convince you it’s a great job you should take. Once you say no they tell you theyll get back to you when they find other work that more closely fits what youre looking for and you’ll never hear from them again. PS I didnt see any guys working there so unless Eric is a female, pretty sure all those 5 star ratings and especially the ones referencing Eric are fake. Save your time and try another staffing agency, though I feel most are pretty much sales jobs, selling you on taking a job even if you dont want it.

I had a wonderful experience with Monument, specifically with Eric. He was the best. He understood what I was looking for and set me up with great organizations. He always checked in before and/​or after an interview and gave me great interview tips. I landed a great job and everything about it is awesome. The entire process with him was incredible and I’m extremely grateful.

I went here for an interview after seeing an ad for an available position. The person I met with looked over my resume and pretty much told me that I had no credentials and would have to lower my expectations even though I had no interest in the kind of positions they suggested. This made me feel like crap and I realized how wrong they were when that very next week I received a job offer from a great company.
In other words, don’t waste your time going to staffing agencies. To me it was a complete waste of time and very unhelpful.

Monument was my first experience with a temp agency. Let’s just say if I am ever looking for another temp or temp to perm job, the first thing I am going to do is to contact Monument again!
After 3 months of futile job searching, I found amazing Unilocal reviews for Monument and decided to give it a shot. I sent them an email with my resume and received a phone call from email within a week asking me to come in to meet him.
A couple of weeks after my meeting with Eric, he called me and told me about an available temp position at a healthcare organization. Eric briefed me on what to say and also helped to put me at ease. He also called me after the interview to see how it went. I later received another call from him on the same day saying that I got the position.
Eric was always on top of things and kept me informed throughout the whole hiring process. He reminded me about orientation and what documents I had to bring, etc. He even called me after my first day to (again) see how it went. It made me feel like he really cared.
I am now a full-​time employee at the healthcare organization. Eric made my transition from temp to perm very easy too — I just had to email him and he handled everything. I was actually told by one of my managers that the majority of the temps at the organization are hired from Monument as they have found that Monument is one of the more reliable temp agencies in terms of screening prospective and hard-​working potential employees.
I cannot speak for other career fields, but if you are looking to work in the healthcare field, definitely go to Monument. In fact, I would recommend Monument for anyone look for a temp or full-​time position!

I use Unilocal almost daily for just about everything, but this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to communicate to others upon discovering a truly remarkable service.
When I first met with Eric it was actually up in VT while he was on vacation with his family. He knew I wouldn’t be down in Boston for quite some time, so he offered to meet with me during his family time in order to jump start my job-​search process. Believe it or not, this is an incredibly small token of how dedicated he is when it comes to working with potential new hires. I tried working with two other agencies, both incredibly well known and prestigious, but I must say, it is remarkable how much more honest, realistic, personable, and encouraging Eric was than the others I met with.
After sending me on my first few interviews, we kept running into the problem of me not being able to start immediately given that I was moving from NYC. So, I decided to move to Boston unemployed; I moved based solely on Eric’s promise to send me out on every temp job that came across his desk until I was hired full-​time. He was realistic in managing my expectations and said I might be temping for two months or so, given that I lacked any previous office experience.

Well, I moved to Boston on a Wednesday, he approached me with a job interview the next day (Thursday), and I interviewed that Friday. They extended me an offer literally the next business day (Monday), and had me start that Wednesday. I know this sounds like a bit of a fairy-​tale job search, but in all honesty, when Eric represents a new hire, I feel it is because he strongly believes in them as professional candidates. Not only did Eric assist in finding me ‘a’ job, he found one that better suited my career-​goals than I ever could have hoped for! Finding and working with an advocate like Eric throughout my job search was by far the most valuable thing I could have done.

This place got me on the downward road to hell. Got me a job somewhere that promised a great team, great benefits and a 4 day work week after a few weeks. Needless to say, this was the job from hell, and nothing like how it was sold to me. They lied to me. I gave up a temp to perm opportunity for this perm opportunity that has had me bouncing around for a year. Never mentioned ²⁴⁄₇ being on call and didn’t mention that the owner of the company was a complete tool.
Run away from them, especially Stacie. All fluff, no stuff.

and at first I was iffy about recruiters because a swarm of recruiters started to contact me once I got my resume out there the very next day. I showed no interest in a lot of them but Amy had a friendly approach so I said to myself «why not».
Went to staffing office in downtown, talked about the opportunities and whatnot. She updated me everyday on the opportunities available. In a few weeks, she landed me an interview with a highly recognized healthcare institute, which I’m currently working at!
This is my first real full-​time job right out of college and Amy delivered what I requested: a job in healthcare industry with a desired salary. I wasn’t too picky about my salary anyway since I just wanted to get out there and gain some work experience.
And within those three weeks, she found something to keep me busy. A one week temp position at a hospital. Which was cool, nothing I wasn’t familiar about– answering phones, checking patients in and all that fun stuff. I loved how the surgeons took turns paying for lunch for their staffs! So I had Bertucci’s twice that one week I was there!

I submitted a resume to Monument on the advice of a friend who works at a big local university. My friend told me that they ONLY source their temps from Monument and suggested I sign-​up with them. I also checked the Unilocal reviews to see what other people experienced and I was excited that people seemed to be working well with this agency. I took my friend’s advice and submitted a resume.
Nothing. Just crickets.
I called them at the end of the first week of waiting to see if I could talk to someone. I got approximately a dozen options for recruiters and at the end, a message to the effect of, «If you haven’t heard from us yet, send us your resume again.» So I did.
Nothing and that was two weeks ago. Disappointed and never had such an experience with a temp agency and I have worked for many through college and after college! I’m glad they’ve been able to help other people, but wow, what a waste of time.

I have only great things to say about Monument Staffing!
I got back in June 2013 from two years of teaching English abroad after graduating college. I applied to several jobs here and there, at places that I thought I would like to work, and (to this day) haven’t heard any responses. My primary problem was a lack of direction — I could envision myself being happy in a broad range of positions, so I didn’t know how to focus my job search. Additionally, my years abroad still rendered me «entry-​level,» despite the fact that I had already been working for two years.
I got a call from Amy at Monument at the end of June, and within three weeks, I had gone on five job interviews (plus two phone interviews, all excellent learning experiences), and had received two job offers, both of which greatly exceeded my initial salary expectations, and in fascinating lines of work.
Working with Amy was the best thing that could have happened to me at the time. Amy’s interview prep tips and pep talks gave me the confidence, know-​how, and professionalism that I lacked in my own job search and that helped me to succeed. She helped me to discover and capitalize on skills that I didn’t know I had. Additionally, working with Monument allows you to get straight to the job interviews, without blindly applying, following up, and waiting for responses (the real bummer part of the job hunt). Amy listened to my expectations and concerns (about taking a temp job that may not become permanent, etc.) and worked hard to make sure that the steps I was taking were the right ones for me, and I ended up with a permanent administrative position, a fit that couldn’t be more perfect for me (despite the fact that I didn’t know that at the beginning of my search!)
I would whole-​heartedly recommend working with Monument, especially Amy, to anyone; however, I would particularly recommend it to folks in my position, who may not know exactly what they want to do. They can help you find your strengths and find a job to fit them.

Monument Staffing is amazing!
I was a bit skeptical about working with a recruiter, but after hearing about my friend’s positive experience with Monument, I decided to shoot them an e-​mail (I also managed to reply to one of their ads on Craigslist). I reached out to them on Friday and both Eric and Hannah contacted me early Monday Morning. I spoke with Eric over the phone (who was very friendly!) and landed me an interview with Hannah the same day. After discussing with Hannah my long-​term career goals, she left me feeling very hopeful and positive that they would find me a job. This is where I was right!
Right after leaving my interview with Monument, Hannah called me five minutes later (probably less!) letting me know that they were able to land me an interview with a prospective employer that I was interested in the next day! Talk about great timing.
Hannah was very encouraging and offered me valuable feedback on how to interview well. She even called me a few hours before my interview to see how I was doing and to help me prep. After my interview, I received a follow up call from Hannah with more valuable feedback she received from the potential employer. Hannah was always energetic, positive, PERSONABLE (which is very important), and it was apparent that she really cared and wanted to help me find a job. She was great at following up with me and would only contact me via mobile and e-​mail when needed (i.e. feedback, information, reminders etc.).
Long story short, Hannah and Monument were able to land me a full-​time relevant job in my field with only ONE try within TEN days (seven business days if you want get technical). How they did that is beyond me, but I am not complaining!

I met with Eric on a Monday morning at 9:00. An hour later, he called me to set up an interview for a long-​term temp position in my desired field. He sent me an email with more details on the position, and I had the phone interview that same day. They were also interviewing one other person for the same position. I got almost immediate feedback on the interview from Eric, and received the job offer on Wednesday. I started the next Monday — only one week after my initial meeting with Monument!
After months of job searching, hearing back from very few jobs I’d applied for, and finding similar admin positions that required 4+ interviews and tons of experience, Monument helped me find an ideal position in just 2 days! I wish I had gone to them sooner. Eric is so friendly, helpful, and encouraging. I would highly recommend Monument Staffing.

Short version: I worked w/​Kevin, who helped me land a great job in my desired salary range and field. Great communication, constant contact/​updates; very positive but realistic approach to job searching.
Long version:
After moving to Boston from Southern California, and applying for positions on my own for a couple months (and hearing nothing back from prospective employers), I decided to find a staffing agency– I sent Monument my resume based on their overall Unilocal score, and heard back from Kevin within 30 minutes. From there, we were in constant contact and found some great opportunities for me that lined up with my desired salary range, fields of interest, and potential for future growth. About a week and a half after meeting with Kevin (and Eric, the owner) for the first time, I was going on interviews. Throughout the entire process, Kevin always returned my calls and emails, made sure that I was always informed of prospects, found opportunities that would best suit my needs, and was very good about answering my questions and addressing concerns throughout. On the occasion that Kevin would be unavailable, he made sure to get me in contact w/​another agent in case I had any questions or concerns while he was away, which was very considerate and helpful.
I think what was most helpful in this process was being very honest w/​Kevin about what I was looking for, and also being open to the opportunities that Kevin and the Monument Team thought would be a good fit for me.

Most people look forward to finding a job with about as much excitement as they look forward to a trip to the dentist. Or maybe cleaning their garage.
Such was my state of mind when I decided to go back into the workforce after 3 years of self-​employment. The idea of the hours upon hours (upon hours) I would have to spend crafting endless individually tailored cover letters, the utter tediousness of this process, and all of this effort knowing that I would be lucky to get even a small response from faceless Human Resources people, had me feeling less than enthused.
Enter Monument Staffing.
If you are looking for a job, do it the smart way and sign up with a staffing agency, but only one that’s worth your time. Most are not. Monument Staffing is one of the good ones.
Within half an hour of sending my resume to Monument Staffing, I got a call back from the owner, Eric, who invited me in the next day for an interview.
He and his staff found a great job for me within 3 or 4 HOURS. And they did it with politeness and professionalism, to boot. They seemed sincerely interested in finding a position for me that actually fit my background, interests and skill set.
THIS is what a good staffing agency is. They will save you endless time looking at job boards and Craigslist ads and all the discouragement of sending your cover letter & resume to faceless companies who are never going to call you back.
You can tell that the Monument Staffing team really enjoys their work, and is good at it. I found my entire experience with them to be a breath of fresh air in the otherwise dull and tiresome process of looking for a job.

I honestly, HONESTLY don’t know why this place has such a great score. I am a recent college grad with a fairly good resume, professional, good references and a pretty good amount of experience for a recent grad. I stumbled upon Monument by accident when I replied to an ad on Craigslist that turned out to be posted by an employee of Monument. Much to my surprise, at 8pm on a Sunday night, someone replied to my cover letter and asked when I could come in to meet them regarding the position. A day or so later I met with the person who I would prefer not to name. After informing the person that I currently had a job, she told me that I couldn’t take the job I had inquired about because it required that I start immediately. I told her that I could rearrange my schedule at work and have people cover my shifts, she still said no. Fine. The lady then informed me that there would be more positions in the next few weeks that I was qualified for and that she felt the economy would be picking up soon which would bring up new positions, I was sent home with the promise that I would be hearing from her soon. The next day this lady emailed me to tell me there was a temp position available for the next day if I wanted it, I told her I was working that day. A week went by with no contact so I emailed her to express my continued interest, she told me there were no current openings. A week later, same thing. I continued emailing like this for a month or so and then eventually gave up. The lady never contacted me again. Fast forward a couple months and I found myself unemployed. I once again contacted this lady, and told her about the change in situation and I told her I was interested in any available position, of any length, for any pay that she had available. She contacted me back saying that I should call her because she didn’t have my phone number. After spending so much time in contact with this person and only a month or so since our last contact, how could she not have my number? I then called her that day and left my phone number and have since had no contact. She never called or emailed back. What a waste of my time. As for the person who commented that this agency only works with young, thin people under 30, I am all of those things and apparently am not even worth a phone call or the courtesy of being told that they can’t help me find work.

Are you a young thin person? Under the age of 30? Yes, then this staffing firm will help you.
If you are none of those things. Don’t even bother. I went it and was told they they were submitting my resume for a client. I would get an email later that day.
Three months later and no email. Every time I call, I always get voice mail for my recruiter. No return phone calls. Sigh.
Edited: 1÷23÷13− I just spoke to Eric. My recruiter is no longer there. I am giving them second chance.
I will do a second review at a later date.

I rarely write great reviews, but Monument deserves this.
I contacted Eric (owner) when I was pretty frustrated with my job hunt, and had heard other great reviews. He called me immediately and set up an appointment for that same week.
While I expressed that I would not do a temp position or any secretarial work, he set me up with an opportunity he had available at a college. He immediately sent my resume out, followed up with me, and what I expected to be an «ok» opportunity turned into a great one, and I ended up getting the job.
If you are a motivated person who knows what they want, and need some extra help-​use Monument. They will work with you, stay on top of things, and constantly check-​in with you.
I could not be more impressed with Eric, his staff, and the entire process I experienced. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I have to say, Monument is beyond words. After reading mixed reviews on Unilocal,I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I submitted my resume back in September 2011. Eric called me (I believe same day) and scheduled for a meeting for the next day. I had a job interview the day after that. It didn’t end up panning out, but I didn’t really like the company anyway (Eric and I agreed that the rep was a little other there).
Fast forward a few weeks later and Eric had me on about a weeks worth of temp jobs before landing me at a temp gig at an extremely reputable Cancer hospital in the Longwood area. I was supposed to be there 3 weeks but ended up there for 5 months and only left because of personal reasons.
Now I have to say this, before I met Eric, I was really down in the dumps. I had just graduated from a really good college, and I was going through a huge transition in my life and very depressed. My degree in Film wasn’t helping much, and my student loan payments were looming on the horizon. The most encouragement anyone in my life could offer seemed to be «Well, just get a job already.»
Enter Eric. After a week or two at my temp job, he left me the most amazing voicemail with the most encouraging words I’ve probably ever heard from another human being. He thanked me for doing such a good job, and told me what potential he thought I had and how proud of me he was. It was the type of thing I’ve never even heard from my own parents or relatives, and it really gave me the drive to believe in myself and my ability to succeed (which was for me, probably my only real obstacle to getting a job, and I believe also is for most of us.)
Well, now I’m back to temping and although it’s not ideal, Eric has me out on a lot of really promising and interesting job interviews, and I have recognized that I do so much better on interviews now because of my newfound confidence.
I can say one thing about Monument, and about Eric, they didn’t just help me find work, they gave me my life back. I’m not sure I could ever express the magnitude of how grateful I am for that. I don’t even know what I’d be doing now if it wasn’t for them. I’d probably be working 60 hours a week at a Starbucks on route 3A living at home instead of kicking it in my new apartment in the city working at some of the nicest offices in Boston.
But I will say one thing though (that I do not find to be a negative, but others might). I have found that it seems Monument will not contact you or stay in touch unless they truly believe they can help you find a job. I recommended Monument to a good friend of mine, and she had to send her resume 3 times and say she knew me to get an interview and since then hasn’t heard anything. Others might be frustrated by this, but I find it fair.
