I use Sue Johnson’s EFT framework in my work with couples to enhance the closeness and intimacy of their relationships. Doing this work is my passion and my pleasure. I work with couples as we go beneath a lot of anger or feelings of distance to uncover the feelings beneath that partners or spouses have hidden from one another. This framework is effective in healing couples from the pain of injuries such as affairs as well as other relationship disappointments. Results have been tested to three years out from the end of therapy using this method. I help couples to go beneath the patterns that have often become habit to unstick those patterns and become closer. We all want and need to feel loved and accepted by our partner for who we are! My goal is to help couples get to that place.

I also provide EFT supervision and Introductory presentations to groups.

History

Established in 1990.

I have over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to couples, individuals and families. For the past 6 years, I have been utilizing the EFT for Couples framework, and I am currently the only Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor practicing in the metro Boston area. During this time period, I have helped many couples and families to improve their relationships in an enduring way, and have supervised a number of other therapists throughout the country in utilizing this method as well.

Business Owner

Paula Zerfoss has been providing psychotherapy services to the communities of Chicago, Illinois, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and more recently, to Boston and Watertown, Massachusetts. She has previously run an agency for teens and their families, and has provided counseling services and training to various Chicago-​area police departments regarding domestic violence issues, for which she received a CALEA citation. Recently, she has been utilizing the EFT framework to provide services to couples and families in the Boston area. She also supervises EFT trainees, and presents on various EFT topics in the Boston area and around the country.
