Peter Pan Bus Lines

I rode with them back in March 2015 from Boston, MA to New York, NY. The ride was smooth but packed. There really wasn’t much legroom and I have long legs that I frequently need to stretch out. I gave them 3 stars because the guys responsible for boarding passengers onto the bus had extra seats open and took it upon themselves to let me on an earlier bus. My bus actually was set to leave 90 minutes later but it was cold in the terminal and they had room and let me on. So for that, I give them 3 stars because they didn’t have to do that.

Bus was an 1.5 hrs late. The staff was super neglective and rude, and there are no refunds if your bus is more than an hour late, and I missed my connecting line. Wish there were more choices for busses on the New England area. I’ve lived in third world countries that had better bus service than this.

Caught a bus from Boston to Newport and it was great. We had low expectations after some of the reviews but we left on time and arrived early. Driver was not super friendly but not rude either. Seats were comfortable and we enjoyed a quiet ride. Toilet was OK for guys, not sure about for girls.
Impressed for the price and convenience.

Customer service is beyond awful. Rude on every level from workers to supervisors. Routinely late buses.
The main problem isn’t that they are late. It is the lack of communication to let the customers know what is going on. People are left to wonder whether the bus will be 5 mins late or 2 hours late. People just want to know if they have time to run to the bathroom without the bus leaving without them. Because forget trying to get help if that happened.
The experience just sucks overall and it’s unfortunate that they don’t care about their own business, much less the customer.

Honestly I’m not sure how this place has gotten some bad reviews or maybe I’ve been lucky. Wouldn’t write a review unless I meant it. I’ve taken the Peter Pan bus multiple times going to and from Boston-​Springfield with no issues at all. If anything I always arrive right on time or with a few minutes to spare. One time I got a stomach flu and purchased an e-​ticket, but sent a refund request online explaining what happened and got my refund within a few days. Today I’m going from Boston to Falmouth (taking the bus to Cape Cod area) and originally scheduled my ticket for around 5pm, but wanted to go earlier, so I asked the bus driver for the 12:01pm bus and was allowed on. Nothing but good things have happened for me and personally have had great experiences.

They do not run to schedule and they do not apologize for it. If you have any other viable alternative — take it.

I once again purchased a bus ticket last weekend from Boston to Fall River. I had a family emergency and was unable to use it. I emailed Peter Pan on Monday and still have heard NOTHING back. They really have become one of the worst bus companies. Truly sad. Used to use them all the time in college

Just be careful. They are cheep bus fares for a reason. Customer service is non existent and will never improve. Keep your baggage light, show up early and just pray you make it to your destination.
Hopefully there will be an über bus service soon? I would love for this whole company to go under.

I have been taking the Peterpan bus from Boston to NYC for years now. Every time I think the experience will get better an sever trine I am disappointed. Peterpan always seems to oversell their bus tickets, so that I am never able to board my scheduled bus. You would think that with all the technology available in today’s world that they would be able to fix this problem. Furthermore, when trying to resolve this issue with customer service their default repose is that it is entirely my fault!
Although the bus ride itself is usually pleasant, getting onto the bus is so frustrating that I rarely can relax and enjoy it.

In all the years I’ve been taking Peter Pan I’ve never thought to write a review… it may be that even thinking about them gives me a headache.
I moved to Boston back in 1992 and got rid of my car right away (because I thought Boston was expensive even way back then) so when I wanted to go to NYC I would take Peter Pan or Greyhound. As my social circles grew, so did the frequency of my trips to NYC. Planes and Trains just end up costing so much that I’d always take the bus. Back then, service was fairly steady and dependable.
As time has gone by things have slowly gotten worse… and worse… and worse. But, over the past couple of years it’s gotten so bad so often that it’s become something to expect.
Somehow, getting from Boston to New York is no problem at all. Folks line up according to their boarding pass number and the bus leaves on time. It’s coming home that things just blossom into farce.
Recently (middle of June) I was scheduled to take the 6:30pm bus… I arrived at 5:50pm to find «lines» formed for the 5:00pm through 7:00pm buses. I mean, there were at least two hundred people if not more. Once in a while some guy in a yellow vest would pop up near the front door and yell something that nobody could hear and then he’d leave. Nobody knows what’s going on and nothing is moving.
Long story, longer… by 8:00pm it was clear that the driver for the 6:30 bus never showed up for work. So, the driver that just came in from Boston got back on the bus and drove us to Boston. Because of traffic and road construction we didn’t get back into Boston until past 1:00am. I won’t describe the last hour of the trip… beyond saying that the driver was doing everything she could to stay awake during the trip. There were moments of sheer terror as the bus clearly swerved back and forth. I’ll never sit in the front seat again after seeing the way we moved along. Ignorance has got to be bliss in the face of what feels like sure death. No kidding.
What really really (really) is a shame… I’ll take the bus again next month… I can’t afford what Amtrak asks, never mind a flight. Everyone says to try Bolt but after doing that once… standing in the rain waiting for a bus full of college students, no thanks.

I was taking the bus from Downtown Providence to NYC. Before anyone could board the bus the driver told us the bus was oversold, and none of us could get on. The next bus was not for another two hours. Peter Pan is not user friendly. You have to print your tickets you purchased online and all refund requests have to be emailed. It’s a very frustrating process.

I believe in rating things for what they are. Would I get more overall enjoyment out of a $ 40 steak dinner than a $ 5 egg sandwich? Yes, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a five star egg sandwich. Would I rather be taking a plane or a train than kicking back for ten hours on a bus? Yes, but I’m cheap, so here we are.
I took the bus from Boston to DC via Port Authority and back. The Greyhound bus from Boston to New York was seriously the comfiest bus I’ve ever been on. Unfortunately, the Peter Pan bus for the second leg was a little older and less plush, but still decent. There’s not really any room to store bags at your feet unless you want to put your feet on top of them.
The drivers were both professional and on the whole safe, except for one sketchy U-​turn on a two lane back road in CT which had me and my neighbor looking at each other in disbelief (especially when the bus scraped the guard rail?). We did make a rest stop between Boston and New York, which isn’t my personal preference (especially since the bathroom on the bus was clean!), but I appeared to be a minority on that matter.
The outlets worked; the wifi theoretically existed but in practice did not. To be honest I’d rather have them not offer wifi than advertise it even though it’s useless…
My only other complaint is that the tickets could be more clear. I didn’t really understand what distinguishes an «express» bus. Also, the signage in Port Authority was miserable – why assigns a bus number if you’re not going to post it at the gate? – but I suspect that’s not all Peter Pan’s fault.
Overall, I think Peter Pan/​Greyhound is definitely worth the extra $ 10 or so over Megabus.

It is no longer possible to buy your ferry ticket to the Vineyard at the South Station ticket office, which is annoying when you are running late for the boat and do not have a ferry ticket yet. Keep that in mind.

Another epic fail trying to take the bus to NYC. Entry trip from this terminal is the same story: hours long delays, little information about updates or alternatives and directed to standing in line despite the lack of movement. Why did you tell us to stand here for an hour when we could have day with our bundles?
Or let me know or would be do long I should have gotten lunch all ready?
Next time I’m driving.

On February 3^rd a Peter Pan bus side-​swiped the rear of my car, while I was stopped in traffic on the 93S/​Storrow Drive on-​ramp. He was going about 40mph around the curve which was still icy due to the snow storm. He never slowed down before or after he hit me. That’s right… Peter Pan hit my car and ran.
I called them immediately, and they said they put me through to the Safety Office’s voicemail. No call back. The next day I called, and they wrote a report and said that they would be in touch. The man taking the report acknowledged that they would be able to check the GPS data to verify that the bus was in the area. NO ONE has called me back despite my 30+ calls. When I asked my insurance to assist me in pursuing it, all they could get was the name of the woman who is «investigating» my case and her phone number. I have left NUMEROUS calls and have not received a single call, email, or any other point of contact.
The damage done to my car totals $ 3820.58. I have always taken very good care of my car. However, my car is old and this spring I had intended on selling it to another person I am acquainted with. The estimated blue book value of my car is only around $ 2800. This person is no longer interested and my car is by insurance’s definition, «totaled». I can not even trade it in for
For a company that claims that it takes matters of safety very seriously, they have proven otherwise. I am unhurt, however I believe that the recklessness this driver has shown on the road, should be reflected on his record and perhaps result in some sort of consequence given by the Peter Pan company. However the company cares very little for the safety of its passengers or others on the road. The disregard from this driver is extremely serious and the companies non-​existent response is reprehensible.
It has been more than 3 months and I have exhausted every option, and have come to the conclusion that I am just plain old screwed over. So with this, the only consequence that can be given to this company is this review.

I was shocked to learn after booking a trip to New York from Boston, I was unable to change my time.
I was told to drive into Boston from Newton to changes and pay half the original cost. This stupid reservation that was previously made 20 minutes before. Customer service sucks!!!

Overbooked the ‘express’ so had to take local and ended up at destination an hour later than scheduled. Seats are uncomfortable and round the lumbar.
Staff does not check tickets properly on the bus, which is probably why it was overbooked.

I have nothing but good to say about the wifi, punctuality and driver. Brian was an awesome guy and I’m happy with the service/​driving he had given :)
By far– better than the greyhound services I’ve been getting… And that may not be saying much– but it’s better lol. I was almost late due to greyhound xD which I luckily wasn’t.

Left Logan International Airport from Terminal C yesterday heading to Providence during rush hour at 415PM. We didn’t make it to Providence until Almost 7PM and I am quite happy with the friendly and efficient service that I was provided. I was even more pleased when I realized the Providence downtown stop was directly across the street from the hotel that I was staying at. The driver was courteous and updated the passengers during the trip.
Didn’t deal with any customer service reps and experienced no issues on the voyage. I plan on using PeterPan in the future for the same trip.

Had the worst experience today. I was leaving Worcester MA heading to NY with a connect in Springfield MA. Our bus driver arrived to Springfield exactly 5 minutes later than the time the connect bus to NY was supposed to leave… Guess what? BUS TO NY WAS ALREADY GONE… So much for professionalism, good company structure and policy on how bus drivers are supposed to communicate with one another. What’s even worse, the bus driver didn’t even warn us that the bus had left and had a bunch of passengers stuck stranded in that awful station for 3+ hours in which we got on the next bus at 3:30. The injustice is mind boggling and absolutely unacceptable. Bye bye to Peter Pan bus company. Would also be nice if your outlets worked.
Frustrated ex costumer. No more bi weekly 80 $ + from me.
