RAD found me a long-​term temp job less than a week after I first met with them!
They are a smaller business, but extremely through and responsive. If you’re looking for admin work, I recommend them highly!

I was working closely with Bob Dorne, who insisted he could find me a job. He knew my salary range and the type of field/​industry I was interested in, as well as knew that I wanted permanent work. knowing all of this, he kept asking me to interview at jobs where the salary was much lower. I kept telling him no thanks, and passing up on interviews that were too low paying or that were temp work. Mr. Dorne knew my salary expectations, but tried to talk me out of it on several occasions saying things such as «just try out this job». Sorry sir, I am not «just trying out» a job, i do not have time for that! i need to like the job and the benefits/​environment/​etc. Needless to say, a negative experience and a potential candidate lost! I found myself another job ($ 20,000/year MORE salary than what he was trying to get me)

I really struggled to find a job after I graduated from college. Thanks to R.A.D., I was hired for a long-​term temp job with the MA unemployment office. The job has since turned permanent. Many of my co-​workers have had the same success thanks to R.A.D.

I turned to R.A.D. for temporary work when I was transitioning career paths. I met with Kristina, who not only listened to my long-​term career goals, but found a perfect opportunity for me at a non-​profit I was pursuing. Before I knew it, she secured a temp job for me at a prestigious organization that I admired.
My experience in my temp role exceeded my expectations. Within 5 weeks, I was offered the full-​time position at the non-​profit.
Without R.A.D.‘s connections, I wouldn’t have secured the temp job, let alone the full-​time position. Most importantly, Kristina was an advocate for me at every step of the application process. I am grateful to have worked with R.A.D. and highly recommend them to anyone looking for temp-​to-​hire opportunities.

R.A.D. is a no-​frills agency that can and will find qualified candidates work. I was offered several different opportunities when I had both availability and a willingness to work with them.
They receive mostly assignments from the state, so the pay rate is a little less than some of the other agencies, but R.A.D. is upfront about that fact.

I’m not a fan of staffing agencies and usually try to avoid them. The only reason I contacted R.A.D. is because their website indicates they’re open to helping those who are currently employed and looking for another permanent position.
I sent an email to Bob Dorne who I guess is the owner and contact for permanent positions regarding my inquiry. I described who I am and, and what I am looking for. I also sent a copy of my resume. I called him today to follow up on the email only to be met with attitude and dismissal as if I were wasting his time.
I understand as a staffing agency it is impossible to remember one email you receive that’s not a direct ad response. I also understand that you don’t always have a specific position open.
What I don’t understand is how your only response to me can be «I think I remember and don’t have anything appropriate at this time.»
No «We’ll keep you on file»
No «Thanks for your interest»
No «Try back in X number of days/​weeks»
No interest at all despite what they’re website says. Exactly why I try to avoid these agencies. They’re only interested in temps which equals more money for them.

I found temp work through R.A.D. last year, from about late January through June, when I found a position in my field elsewhere. I never thought of temping as a part of my career path, but rather a great way to experience new jobs, build my skill set, and make money to pay for my rent and restaurant outings while looking for jobs in my field.
These guys delivered. Once I applied, I interviewed and took a test with them within a week, if I recall, and two weeks later I had a placement offer. I started out with a short placement, two days, but then the next one wound up lasting nearly five months. I probably would have been unemployed during that time, otherwise, so I’m incredibly grateful to them. Both placements were with government agencies, and I can’t say it was the most thrilling work, but I did learn a lot and meet some great people throughout the experience.
If you’re a hard worker, do give R.A.D. a try!

I’ve never actually gotten a long-​term position through R.A.D.- though that may change soon, as they submitted me for one– but I enjoy working with them as it is a small office. They are different in that a bunch of different people handle your file, instead of just dealing with one person. As another poster said, they get a lot of work with governmental agencies. It does not feel like a meat market, which is not true for other places.

This rating is long overdue. I have been working with RAD for the last 3 months now. I had never worked with a temp agency before and went in thinking this could be a horrible experience, BUT so far it has been great!
I met with Ashley, went over my resume, interests, etc and then took their computer placement/​typing tests. She was able to find me work in less than a week that was accessible by the T so I didn’t have to worry about driving, parking, etc.
I started out with a one-​day assignment which I assume is so they can try you out. After that they follow up with the employer to see how it went. After my first two 1-​day jobs went well I was offered longer term positions (6+ weeks).
ALSO — Ashley was great about finding short-​term work over the holidays when my other temp position would not be in available. THANKS RAD!

«So… you are here about the finance job?»
After 30 minutes of describing my interests in non-​profits, arts and culture, and higher education, my «interviewer» cut me off. He said «To be honest, it will be very, very hard to get a job like that with your background»
Totally confused, as I had responded to an ad on the RAD website for nonprofit HR, I said, «But I’m not interested in finance at all»
«Was it insurance then?
«No.I’m interested in non-​prof…»
«It looks like you don’t have really clear career goals, Miss H.»
«I do, I described them in my email to you.»
«Yes, You said you wanted a job in finance or insurance.»
Yes, folks. This man called me in for an introductory interview and didn’t have the foggiest who I was. I explained he must have gotten me mixed up with someone else, he looked embarrassed, but recovered quickly. Or so I thought.
Then, a personal contact called his office and he PROCEEDED TO TALK ABOUT THE RED SOX FOR 15 MINUTES in the middle of my interview. He described me on the phone to his cohort as «a very attractive young lady» which is erm… a compliment, but totally inappropriate and skeevy given the situation.
Despite the sketchiness of the situation, I accepted the offers he threw at me, perhaps against my better judgment. He said he was going to set up an interview for me and that it would be on a certain day and I should send him my availability. I did so and he sent me a tentative schedule, which he’d call to confirm. He also said he’d provide me with directions. The day came, and despite my emails, I received no further communication from RAD. I’d avoid them and head straight to Spherion, KNF&T, or Beacon Hill staffing.

This is a very responsive and professional group of staffing agents — which is not easy to find. RAD is very good about keeping you busy if you want work. If you do a nice job and express an interest in a next assignment, they are generally able to make it happen for you.
Their assignments tend to be mid-​range in pay for administrative and clerical roles. They seem to have a fair number of clients who use them as a preferred agency.
As a smaller organization, they do not have many of the perks, benefits or on-​line features of larger companies. The smallness, however, seems to make it easier for them to offer some real concern and responsiveness to candidates.
