I just got my Georgia groomed here and she looks amazing! Before I brought her in, she was covered in mats and I was having a very hard time getting rid of them. I felt bad for the poor pup. Now her fur is softer than ever and mat-​free. She looks and smells great. The groomer also did a wonderful job trimming her paws and tail and put the cutest bows on her ears. I’ll definitely be bringing her here again for grooming!

I have taken our little Schnoodle to daycare at Boston Red Dog and I was so pleased. I was nervous with her being only 12 pounds and how she would be taken care of all day long. The staff was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable leaving her for the day. They have small dogs in one area and large in another. On her first day they even take the time to call you mid-​day to let you know how your dog is doing. They also give you a report card after the first visit to let you know how the day was and how your dog behaved and adapted to daycare. Our girl came home so happy and exhausted, so we know she played all day long and had a great time! I highly recommend Boston Red Dog. I’ll definitely continue to bring our dog here.

As most people are, I was very hesitant to board my dogs for the first time. After taking a tour of the facility I was really impressed and it’s also reassuring that there is a veterinary clinic right next door if anything were to happen. The facility is very clean, staff is friendly, and I like the a la carte services that they offer. I am very comfortable leaving my pets in their care and would highly recommend it.

My Miniature Pinscher, Jasmine and I are new to Red Dog. She has had a barking problem for quite some time now and after exhausting many options and for the sake of my neighbors sanity, daycare seemed to be the best solution. I did some research and landed on Red Dog. The affordability factor is what sold me right off the bat! Aside from that, they were extremely accommodating and got us in right away for an evaluation. From when I dropped Jasmine off to when I picked her up, I never once questioned or worried if I made the right choice. They are extremely professional, have wonderful demeanors and make you feel comfortable and excited to leave your dog for the day to «make some new friends and socialize.» I’m only two sessions in, but you can bet Jasmime will be back for more!

I boarded my cat for a night here. On their website, they advertise cat boarding for $ 22 a night, but in actuality you’ll likely pay more. When you click Feline Accommodations on the website you will see that there are «extras,» which include playtime, but the costs of each extra service are not shared, so this is easy to miss. I figured that boarding my cat at a «Pet Resort» would naturally involve some amount of playtime. Also, he is so cute, how could you not play with him? But no, you have to request playtime yourself for an extra $ 12, which I learned in my reservation confirmation email. Another thing not explicitly explained on the website that I learned over my reservation email is that there is a $ 16 «late fee» for picking up your cat after 1pm Mondays-​Saturdays and after 2pm on Sundays. Given my desperation, though, I had no choice but to board my cat, and unfortunately I could only pick him up after work. In total, one night of boarding costed $ 50.50 (not sure where the 50 cents came from), and that’s excluding my cab there and back. That’s a lot of $ for just one night. There wasn’t even a discount or anything for new clients.
When I picked up my cat, he was meowing up a storm and shaking the entire time on the way home. I was also told that he didn’t eat any of his food that day. I realize this could be likely due to the change of environment, but it really threw me off when I saw an employee holding my cat improperly with his legs dangling while he was meowing up a storm (he rarely meows like that). That doesn’t help. While the employee was very friendly, she told me she doesn’t have much experience with cats. She also incorrectly put on his harness, and I have yet to figure out how to rearrange it so it looks like how it looked before. Thankfully, my cat immediately returned to normal once he got home.
I would say that the positive of boarding here, though, is that there is a vet next door, which is comforting. Just know what you’re getting into financially.

I travel into Boston for work frequently and have been bringing my dog Bebe for longer trips. I brought him to Red Dog after hearing about it from a friend. I am so glad I did because they took such great care of Bebe! Not only did he get one of the best grooms hes ever gotten but he also seemed happy (which is the most important!) The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean and 5 star. I put Bebe in daycare all 5 days and took advantage of their «Four Season» suites. Such a cute idea — really great touch! There is nothing better than feeling like your pup is being loved and taken care of!
Will be coming back again!!!

Most of the 1 star reviews I’m seeing are related to boarding which I cannot speak to. I will say that I’ve seen their boarding facilities and would never leave my dog there. Their kennels have a cement ground and I think my dog would go nuts with anxiety. But then again I think most boarding facilities are similar to this — it just doesn’t compare to finding a good home for your dog to stay.
I do, however, use their dog daycare and so far Dash has adapted nicely! He’s a small 10 pound dachshund. Day one they gave me a report card saying it took him some time to warm up but that this was a good thing for him. I now take home one day a week. I purchased a package — for the reviews that mention the package expiration, this could not be more clear when you buy it! Make sure you read before you buy.
Overall I’m pleased with the service from red dog. I find the ladies that greet us at the front desk are personable and they got to know Dash quickly!

We have recently moved to Boston and are so glad we found Boston Red Dog for daycare and grooming (we haven’t tried their boarding facilities yet but will in the future). Our golden retriever pup, Bella, has a lot of energy and she is bliss to have at home after a day at daycare. Our cocker spaniel, Chase, gets separation anxiety and hasn’t enjoyed a few day cares we have tried previously but he always comes home from here relaxed and happy.
All the staff we have interacted with from the front desk, to daycare, to groomers and the «pet taxi» service have been great and are true animal lovers.
Their pick up and drop off service is so convenient and when we had them dropped off when we weren’t home the driver put them in the room we requested without any complaints. She even gave us a call to let us know she was stuck in traffic and so our babies would be home a little later than usual!
I highly recommend using Them for all your pups needs!

My dog, Dexter, LOVES Boston Red Dog. I have taken him to daycare here nearly every weekday for the past 4 months. Once we pull into the parking lot, he gets so excited and can’t wait to get inside to play.
The receptionists know both myself and Dexter. He greets them each morning and they are always happy to see him (and every other client) as well. I also use Red Dog for boarding when I need to travel and have Iet Dexter swim a few times. I have had positive experiences with every service I have used here (including the Skipton Pet Store inside and the attached veterinarian office).
I feel 100% comfortable and good about bringing my Dexter here. I know he’s safe, secure and having a great time. It may not be the cheapest doggie daycare; however, I strongly believe it’s the best and worth every penny.

Im editing my review because red dog really stepped up and contacted us and took care of the issue. They were not aware that anything had happened and I believe that they are being sincere. They had us bring the dog immediately to the animal hospital for review and treatment at no cost. The problem is that our dog is a playful boxer, too big for the puppies but too small for the big dogs. I think we will wait a bit until he gets a little older or make the visits shorter.

I am a customer of the vet next door (5 stars for them too!). When I adopted Fredo Corleone from the MSPCA my brother mentioned taking my new friend to daycare.
Fredo was evaluated and passed. He loves it! I take him once a week and he is exhausted when he gets home from running around all day. All I have to do is email to let them know he is coming. They respond right back. The staff is fantastic and you can see that they love the dogs.
The location is perfect — right off the highway and they have parking. They also have a pet store so I can buy his food and pick him up with one stop.
I know some people have spoken about the price — from 7am –7pm where else can you bring your dog and know they are safe for the day? My last dog I never left with anyone but family. I trust this facility to love and care for Fredo as well as my family would.

I recently left my pug pup here for 6 nights and it was his first time away! I knew about Red Dog from Argos Dog Training (they share the same facility) and had seen firsthand what a clean, well-​staffed and inviting atmosphere it was, so it was a no-​brainer to go with them when I was ready to board Bilbo.
I paid $ 40/​night for the petite suite since he’s under 15lbs and thought it was a pretty great price. We also got his first nail trim for $ 12. They offer all sorts of add-​ons in addition to grooming services like swim sessions, private play sessions and more.
I’ve actually walked through the back into the actual kennels here before and they are really quite clean. However, Bilbo did come home quite smelly when I picked him up, so I don’t know what that means.
I loved that they sent him home with a «report card» of how he was during his stay. I thought that was adorable and it was also comforting to know what was up while I was gone! :)
I’ll definitely be boarding Bilbo here again in the future– just hoping he can continue in the petite suite though b/​c the prices get pretty high after that and it does get expensive for me! However, if money is less of a concern and all you care about is quality, Red Dog is the place!

I just dropped my dog off for an overnight, but admit I am now very nervous (and almost didn’t leave him) because of the hostile customer service we just received and now fear the same treatment (or worse) will be inflicted on my innocent dog during his stay. Our dog visits red dog regularly for grooming and for an occasional overnight stay. As an aside, the last time he boarded for 2 nights, he came home with a significant limp. I had the sister veterinary office x-​ray him, but nothing abnormal was found. Seeing the other reviews about injured pets causes concern. This time the front desk representative was clearly disgruntled and found every roadblock she could during our check in process. After 45 mins and having to prepay for our dogs stay, we left, but not without concern that he’ll be mistreated. Next time we will use Fenway Bark. Red Dog has lost my business.

This place has become ridiculous with its fees and charges. It nickel and dimes you for everything.
Late fees after 1pm. I dropped my dog in the late afternoon to go to a funeral then picked her up the next day. Not even 24 hours costs nearly $ 100.
I had glucosamine supplement broken up in the food. They wanted $ 5 per meal to dump the food in the bowl. Called it medication. It’s not medication, it’s a supplement you idiots. Outrageous!
I won’t be back. Finding a new method for boarding.
Red dog sucks. The woman at the front desk was also rather curt and snippy. Not good customer service.

Haven’t had a negative experience here. We’ve boarded our 45lb hound mix in a 4×8 «dorm room» a.k.a kennel for $ 48 a night a couple of times now. I’m only taking a star off because you have to pay extra for group play and this is not necessarily crystal clear if you don’t specifically ask. We moved up here from NC and every boarding place in NC includes day play with overnight boarding so that was a surprise. Otherwise our dog is quite happy to go in (we’ve boarded her three times) and we’ve not had any issues. They also send nice photos when you do have group play which was nice to see. Perhaps webcam could be a nice future upgrade down the line?
I also like that they offer pickup and dropoff since we live in the city and don’t have a car and the prices are reasonable. We actually let them pick up our dog when we weren’t at home and that went totally smoothly so no complaints. Unfortunately, the snow storm made them temporarily cancel pickups and dropoffs so we couldn’t use it with our most recent experience.
Our last boarding experience here was a total of 6 nights due to a snowstorm that prevented us from making it back into town. They had no issues extending by additional days and tried hard to go find the appropriate food that we wanted our dog to eat so that was very nice.

My dog boarded at Red Dog for four nights recently. He’s an 11 month old vizsla — a breed known for their energy levels /​exercise needs.
Upon checking in, I was asked if I wanted my dog to participate in any optional activities, like aquatics or a bed-​time tuck in. I declined — I knew he’d be plenty happy just playing with other dogs all day.
They checked him in for the four-​day stay. Based on past experience with boarding at Pooch Hotel, I knew he’d be exhausted when I got home. It was just the opposite — he was absolutely bonkers all day on Sunday when I got home, and was destructive in his crate the next day — the only time he has ever torn up anything in his crate.
I called to ask about how much exercise dogs staying with them get. The person I spoke to, made sure to sound as sophisticated as possible as they patronizingly explained that «it looks like your dog did not participate in the group play». Did my dog say he was busy? Washing his hair?
No, they had not communicated that he’d be crated the entire four days, without any exercise, with the exception of being let out a few times a day to poop and pee. This is a breed that required 2 – 4 hours of *vigorous* exercise every day. Running at a full-​out sprint, wrestling with other puppies, etc.
Admittedly, I would not have been a fan of being told about the up-​charge of ~$ 20 for him to get exercise during his stay, but I would have paid it, and gotten over it. At least then, we could only question the red dog for nickle and diming its customers… They did add $ 5/​day to squirt a drop of fish oil into my dog’s food each day.
The owners and staff at red dog are SICK, IMMORAL PEOPLE. How could you keep a dog crated for four days, and not even mention it to the owner? Shoot, they had the chance to make more money by offering to charge me to let him play each day, but they decided to let a dog wither away in a crate for 4 days — bored, destructive and lacking socialization.
And, that’s why the only conclusion we can draw here, is that THESE PEOPLE ARE CRUEL.

This review is for the aquatic fitness center only. I have not boarded, daycare, or grooming here. — I saw the ad for Red Dog on the back of a MBTA bus and noticed they had a pool. My pup had been through a lot — she drove across county and then had to move again a few months after the drive. She is a rescue dog and has always been very high energy and can get pretty nutty around other dogs. She always liked going in the oceans and duck ponds to wade or chase birds. I thought a fun swim would be a great way for her to learn how to swim well, relax her joints and body and get some calm and relaxation, and just get some good exercise.
The swim room is nice it is complete with a heated pool that can be therapeutic for dogs who are older or have problems with their joints. Swimming is great exercise for your dogs and it Is really rewarding to watch your dog gain more and more confidence with the water. You can get a discount if you sign up for packages, but I think the price is very affordable and reasonable. When I called to make my first appointment I was actually surprised because I expected it to cost a lot more for individualized swim time. That’s right, it’s just your pup and the pool for twenty to thirty minutes workout with a trainer. Owners do not go in the pool but you can enjoy watching from the sidelines! :)
Overall, she seems very happy to go to the swim sessions and nice and relaxed afterwards. I am happy with her handling and care and the swim instructor is very engaged and knows how to bring the best out of your pup. I highly recommend you try a fun swim to get your dog some variety in the exercise routine!
