Robert Half Technology

Dan Alves was just so rude. He tried to make me feel bad about myself for being laid off for 8mo despite me getting 4 – 6 interviews a week. When I looked at his background, all he has done for work was work in retail clothing and sales. Don’t let people like this bring you down. He was just so unprofessional. Other recruiters from there have called me, yet when I call them back, they do not answer phones or emails. I am pretty sure I am done with them as they lack professionalism and I doubt Dan Alves would like it if the shoe was on the other foot and he was laid off for 8 months and someone told him he was worthless.

RH is by far the worst recruiting firm I have ever dealt with. Their Boston and Rhode Island offices are horrible. I have been employed for a little over a year now and looking to move on. RH tried to sell me ridiculous temporary positions multiple times after I told them I was not interested. They also at one point decided to tell me I was not qualified for another position that I clearly knew I was qualified for. The person I was working with then decided to lie to me about a particular salary for a posting they sent me. I found the exact same posting on Monster with the salary range that was much less than I was currently making. Why on earth would you ever recommend that to anyone? Everyone that I have ever worked with there has wasted my time. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Robert Half got me my first position in the IT field… well, a long time ago. I returned to Robert Half for my transition to the web developement world. I now have a recruiter, Brielle Laliberte, who contacts me once a week, at least. She has been terrific. I cannot praise her enough. Brielle has landed me a contract with a local creative firm now and I am overjoyed.
Working with a recruiter is a two way street. You need the skill set they can use and you have to present yourself in a professional manner. Recruiters are not magicians.
I would recommend RHT to any one of my friends seeking employment!

They did actually get me some work.
However on my initial interview with them, I got the feeling that the recruiter really wasn’t listening to me or what I actually wanted to be doing or what was important to me. Hence job openings that came my way weren’t really a match if the recruiter really wanted to take long term goals into consideration.
If you are a payroll person, then they might be able to help you. Beyond that I can’t say.

The worst recruiting firm I have ever come across. I have never heard so many cliches and buzz words from a recruiter… your not trying to sell me a used car! He had no idea about the company nor the position I was interviewing for. By the time I finally got to speak to the interviewer, I lost complete interest in the position. Their interview tip packet is a joke. Do yourself a favor and work with a recruiting firm that actually pretends to care about you — RH is a factory and is not personal in any way. You are a walking $ sign for them.

A recruiter blew me off twice after we scheduled interviews. In the meantime, other recruiters sent me spam messages without truly considering my skill set.
In my experience, Robert Half is unprofessional, and the company may complicate your job search, making it harder for you to find the right position.

This company actually landed me my first job out of college. I received three offers upon graduating two of which were jobs I applied for directly and other was through Robert Half. They’re definitely pushy about selling you the job their recruiting for just as a car salesman would do as their making a commission off the deal. I was able to negotiate them to give me a sign on bonus as the job they got me paid less than rhe others so I recommend bringing that up. They linked me to the job that I was ideally looking for and I probably wouldn’t have applied for it on my own.
It was a good overall experience as it got me used to how recruiters work as I’m in IT and that is a huge field to recruit for.
In the end they’re just like other sales people and you have to do what’s right for you and ignore the BS the recruiter is feeding you about having a client or jobs perfect for you. While in the end they want you to come into their office to meet, waste your time, and show you jobs all recruiters have access to and Robert half isn’t the sole company trying to fill the position.

This is the worst recruitment company that exists in US. Wasted totally my time, had me fill out a ton of forms, had to wait for over 1 hours for their consultants to show up, wasted 2 hours in discussing with their team, and then never called back. I called them many times for some opportunities in their website, and nobody returned my calls. The same thing with the emails. This company is a joke, and I’m not sure how the people that they employee get their salaries. Make yourself a favor and don’t even think about contacting them., As the previous reviewer said after going through the experience with Robert Half you don’t want even want to consider any other recruitment agency. Kind’a true in very few cases you will have some good recruiters contact you…

I am sorry to say, I have to agree with the other people that posted here.
AVOID THIS AGENCY.
In fact, if I could give negative stars, I would.
After reading the reviews, I was very wary of this agency, however, I went in, met with them, and everything was going really well. The person I met with was nice, really listened, did have jobs, paid careful attention to what I asked for, was personable, not a hard sell, I was really relieved after reading the other reviews here.
However:
The problem arises in signing paperwork. I have a tiny consulting business on the side, and I refused to sign a piece of paper that said I would not do any other work without their permission in writing. Would they have known about the work? No. But I refused to sign this for a three month contract gig. They initially approved the change I made, and then WITHDREW approval AFTER signing off on it:
Unprofessional is the NICEST thing I can think of to say about that.
I’ve seen this on permanent jobs before, and signed, and kept working. Like I said, they will never know. But there are limits to what I will sign for a bloody three month contract job. Really.
In addition to that, there was some paperwork about a background check. Now, you want to look into my educational background, my employment background, even run a credit check, I am fine with that. That is normal.
However, this «background check» went WAY beyond that — I’m sorry I cannot remember all of the wording — it said, as I recall, they can call anyone I have ever known, at any time, and ask them anything they like, and use what they say as a reason to terminate employment. And you cannot modify the paperwork in any way.
Again, I say, UNPROFESSIONAL, Robert Half Technology Division, is the nicest thing I can say about your legal department, and they cost you money today by refusing to negotiate anything.
Your loss. I am a devoted, loyal, talented, experienced, hard worker, and you lost out today.
AVOID THIS AGENCY.
Sorry Ben (the person I interviewed with), but now I am pissed off, and I want people to know this about Robert Half before they waste time (and therefore money) going into an interview with a company that has… again, unprofessional practices is the NICEST thing I can say about your legal department. I am thinking many much stronger words. This would, I think, have worked out well for me, the client, and the agency if your legal department had the brains they were born with.
