Established in 1995.

During 10 highly successful years at Jack Conway’s South Boston location, Mr. Rooney won numerous awards for his outstanding achievements in sales and listing, including «Tops in Sales» company wide four years in a row. He then established his own business, Rooney Real Estate in 1995.

Today, Jackie and his team of real estate professionals have been involved in well over a thousand sales transactions. His consultative approach has made Rooney Real Estate one of Boston’s premier real estate firms, servicing South Boston.

Jackie Rooney is a snake. If you’re forced to work with him, fact check everything that comes from his slimey mouth. He blatantly lied about multiple things throughout our home purchase process.

there are so many real estate companies in South Boston, and this one is at the bottom of the barrel. The staff turnover is ridiculous, which signals to me that it is not a good company to work for, which is never a good sign. I rented an apartment through them last year, I ended up having two rental agents with them because one was getting married, so someone else took over, and they were both wonderful (but unfortunately, they are now both gone). I then came back later when we decided to buy a place, and it took 5 phone calls to finally speak to someone, and then i realized why — there was NO STAFF besides the owner and a receptionist! the receptionist was very kind and apologized profusely that noone could help me, and she delicately explained that they were understaffed and she didn’t have her license so she couldn’t help me. she seemed mortified to be working there, and i don’t blame her (i later found out that she is no longer working there too… shocker!!)
I left multiple messages with the owner, tried to track him down through their open houses (apparently he hires non agents to do open houses, and he doesn’t do them himself). I even met some people who listed their houses with him, and they told me good luck in trying to get him on the phone.
I ended up working with GKR realty and they were WONDERFUL. (the funny thing is, the owner of GKR is the brother of the owner of Rooney — talk about night and day).
So in short, if you need a real estate agent, and you are overwhelmed by your choices in Southie, don’t even bother considering Rooney Real Estate. Complete waste of time.

Do not engage in real estate deals with Jackie Rooney. He accepted my offer in a small condo in Southie with an FHA pre-​approval letter. After I paid close to 500 dollars for the inspection he then backed out because: «it was too much work for an FHA approval and we’re not doing it».
This was after offer was fully executed! His behavior really sadneed me and I lost a little apartment that I really loved. Stay away from this agency.

By far the worst real estate company I have ever had in terms of rental properties. Service requests are ignored completely, phone calls and voicemails are left unanswered, maintenance that is good for him is done at inappropriate times (hammering, etc. at 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends.) Its unreal. If you’re thinking about getting yourself involved with these people, don’t.

I used them to buy my home a year ago and he was a total dirtbag sleezeball. He lied on the listing and I went to the real estate board to file a official complaint and they knew him well and had other multiple complaints on this firm and on Jackie Rooney (the owner) himself!

The worst experience of my whole life thus far doesnt even come close to being as bad as the experience I had here! The world of rental realty is forever ruined because of this place. I would reccomend living in a refrigerator box on the corner of K and E Broadway before I would tell you to come here.
We had an apartment and then we lost the apartment and then we got our deposit money back but they wouldnt refund the overpriced credit check fee and then they didnt call for weeks and weeks and even when I went in in person and called and emailed I was ignored. AWFUL. this place is AWFUL
