TL: DR — Came here to get my keyed door fixed. Went back home with 5 new dents on the opposite side of the car. No thanks.
After reading all the positive reviews on Unilocal I decided to come here to get my keyed door fixed. The whole process was simple and straight forward. The cost for the repair was very reasonable. The person who escorted me to the car rental was extremely nice. The door still looks great after many months. So why the 1 star review?
After I picked the car up I did a quick inspection on the door and it looked great. However the window rubber liners were kind of faded like alcohol touched it and some blue tape here and there but overall the repair was fine. When I got back home I did a full inspection and that’s when I noticed I had not 1 but 5 new dents on the left side of the car. 5 new dents! Mind you the keyed door was on the right side of the car so how the heck did I even get damage on the left side?
Now the car looks like I hammered it on the left side and the new damage is double or even triple the cost of the keyed door. If this is their business tactic to make more money then I’m sorry. I will not bring my car back here because I simple don’t trust these guys anymore. So if you need repairs here then you’re coming here at your own risk. Good luck.

Great group of guys. They’re all extremely friendly, and were able to fix my car cheaper than the insurance company quoted me! I will definitely be coming back!

As all of the others have said, this is a great shop. I brought my Lexus in for some minor paint work (but in a difficult place that would require repainting the whole fender) and they took the time to say it wasn’t my paint at all, but the other car’s bumper marks, and then they used some rubbing compound and took it out. Good as new!
And they wouldn’t take any money at all for it! These guys are honest, know what they are doing (they can paint even the more expensive cars — I saw their painting booth) and are very reliable not to run up your bill (when in my case they truly could). I recommend going to these guys first!

These guys are TOP notch!
I hit some ice last winter in my brand new car and swiped the side of my bumper and fender against a pole. Needless to say, it left me with a crunched fender and a lot of paint transfer. The issue was purely cosmetic, so I took my time to find a good Auto Body Shop since the car was new. After looking at reviews and receiving quotes from several different places, I settled in on Southie Auto Service; they had the best reviews and by far the cheapest quote (by about $ 400). The guys there are extremely personable and go above and beyond to make sure you have the best service possible. I was told they would need 2 days to do the repair, but they were able to turn it around in less than 24 hours. They stayed late on Veterans day to get the work done (and many of the guys are Veterans).
I wish I had pictures of my car before the work was done so you could see the damage from the pole. After the work these guys did, my car looks brand new again. I cannot thank these guys enough and will be referring everyone I know to them. Do not have any doubt, if you need any work done on your car, GO TO THESE GUYS!

These guys are great! Professional. Super friendly. Honest. Very reasonable prices. And they do good work. They were recommended to me by a friend who lives in South Boston. He told me that they had a great reputation in South Boston, and that he had used them and was very satisfied. My job was body work. The work they did was perfect. They matched the paint perfectly. And they did a little extra job for free while my car was there.

I’m so glad I found a reliable auto body repair shop in town. These guys did a beautiful job repairing the hail damage to my car from the recent storm. I recommend them now to all my friends and family now. They will take good care of your vehicle and won’t overcharge you!

I dropped my car off on a Monday morning with Tony to get my car door repaired and it was done the next morning, with perfect paint blending at a very fair price. If I need any more auto body work done they are my official go to place.

Have had two fantastic experiences with Tony and the guys at Southie Auto and won’t take my car anywhere else as long as I live in Boston. Honest, helpful, quick, thorough, and affordable. Not often you find all that in a mechanic. These guys are the best around!

Just visited Southie Auto Service this morning because my tail light was out and they changed it in 5 minutes and charged me hardly anything! They are also very sweet and seem very trustworthy. I will definitely be back for my next repair!

These guys are great! I failed my inspection after finding out I needed new breaks and was quoted horribly high prices at a few other local garages. Not only did they fix my car in a few hours, but they saved me about $ 300 that I would have spent for not-​so-​great service.
Everyone is super friendly, and the service was efficient and excellent.

Tony and his crew do outstanding work and always go the extra mile. I’ve worked with countless other body shops and Southie Auto’s approach and attention to detail and customer satisfaction is second to none.

Southie Auto deserves more than 5 Stars. I have brought my car in 3 times. Each time it has come back looking better than when I bought it. Fast service. The owner and crew have gone above and beyond, dropping me off at a rental place each time. Even coming to jump me when Triple A had a 2 hour wait. Prices are great, I can’t express enough how they are the nicest people. Thank you Southie Auto Service.

My car got hit by a UPS truck while I was away (needed a new front bumper). I found Southie Auto through Unilocal.Believe all the great reviews… Tony and David are great!!! Quick turn around and they took the time to review the work they did on the truck. Total bonus points for catching and fixing my tail light that was out. I left feeling that this is an auto shop that I could trust! I’ll be back!

I had nothing done and it didn’t cost me anything.
I was visiting Boston from NYC when my 16 year-​old car started producing a grinding noise. Noise came from the rear wheels when the car was in motion. I’d just had the tires replaced last week. Maybe the last shop screwed something up doing that?
I dropped off my car early on a Saturday morning at Southie with anticipation that my brakes would need to be replaced but an assumption it would, of course, be something more serious.
The mechanic eyeballed the rear wheel rotors and guessed it was the brakes. I was told I’d get it back by the end of the day, provided the parts arrived in a few hours. That was a surprise in itself. I’d been worried I wouldn’t be able to drive back to NYC on Sunday.
In the short amount of time it took to walk from the shop to my hotel in the Seaport area, I’d received a call that my car was ready for pickup. I wolfed down a complimentary breakfast, then walked back down to Southie.
«There’s your problem,» the mechanic said, pointing to a worn out, warped dust shield on the garage floor. «I’d like to charge you, but, well…»
He handed me my key and wished me safe travels.
I said thanks and hit the road again.

Couldn’t agree more with the positive reviews on here. They’re really good guys who know what they’re talking about and are honest — I can’t say enough times how much I appreciate being able to trust what they tell me and knowing they’ll get it done right. So grateful my friend referred me, I won’t ever be going anywhere else!

My car got hit by a plow while I was out of the country for my wedding. In the middle of all our crazy blizzards, Geico couldn’t find a tow company that would come get the car. Southie Auto Service called a ton of places, found me a tow, and got my car back to me in record time — looking better than before it got hit! I won’t get into details on the cost but they will NOT screw you and are THE nicest people in the industry, in Southie, maybe even the world!
There’s a reason these guys are #1 on Unilocal,I can’t say enough good things about them!!!
PS Is it weird that I want my car to get hit again so I can come back here?!?
