Sway Aveda Spa

I was in Boston traveling from Florida to have a medical procedure, I was wound up and stressed out and in serious need of a massage. I began researching spas in the area and decided upon this one based on the other reviews… I booked a 90 minute massage with Davon and it was by far the BEST massage that I have EVER had (even better than the high end resorts that I have visited in Las Vegas and FL). If I lived it Boston this would be my go to place! When I arrived I was immediately greeted and offered a drink (very nice customer service), the therapist was very gentle yet had a firm touch, the massage was awesome and when I was done I felt fabulous! I highly recommend this place… You will not be disappointed!

I picked the spa at random and was very pleased. My masseuse — and I’m sorry if I am forgetting his name — Dravon– had a very gentle but strong touch. I was wound as tight as a knot going in and left walking on a cloud.
The front desk was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

I had an amazing hot stone massage with Michiko — this spa lives up to its hype. Top-​notch massage therapists in a beautiful environment, with great service to boot. The space is smaller than the other Aveda spa/​salon down the road (Pyara), but that makes no difference when you compare the quality of work — Sway is my go-​to for any relaxation, and I hope to refer friends here as well.

My husband and I came here to get massages for our wedding anniversary. They don’t do couples massages, but will take you both into different rooms at the same time.
None the less, my husband and I had great massages. We appreciated their attention to detail and hospitality. I especially appreciate the reminders of the upcoming appointment.
Staff was great and it’s in a nice part of Boston. We enjoyed our experience. Thank you!

I was visiting Boston for my work, and was in need of nice relaxation. Sway spa was clean (including bathroom. I always look at bathroom’s cleanliness because I think it tells a lot about the service), staff was very friendly and polite. I had a 60-​min facial service, but I asked to personalize to meet my needs. Sweta was great, she did wonderful scalp, neck, and foot massages in place of extraction, because I don’t like extraction. She was very professional and polite. Aveda product was nice and soothing as well. Overall, great experience.

I am a student at BU and i just wandered into this place one day looking for an eyebrow wax and was very pleasantly surprised. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, never making me feel rushed. They even took me as a walk-​in. Each time I go to get my eyebrows done, they take their time making sure I am getting exactly what I want. After getting burned at almost every other waxing place, I was wary to try a new one but my eyebrows have never looked or felt better. And all for 15 $.

I moved to Boston a few years ago and was constantly searching for a good place to get Brazilians. I have been getting them consistently for the past seven years.
I tried quite a few places around the city always finding they were unclean, way too expensive, or the quality of the wax was so poor I couldn’t wait the full month before I needed another one.
Once I found sweeta I was sold. She is professional funny and very very good at her job. She makes the whole experience quick and painless (as painless as it could be) saying «I get waxed myself so I know what hurts and which methods to use.» And I have been going to her every five weeks since the first time. I would strongly recommend her and I have also heard fabulous reviews of the facials.

I’ve visited Sway Spa since they opened in 2014. I’ve been to a lot of spas in the area and in elsewhere and this place is truly the best. Their service is consistently excellent and their skin care advice is on point. The basic difference between Sway Spa and others is that for Sway Spa, their work is their passion and their pride. They are truly skin care and relaxation therapy artists.

Highly recommend, staff friendly and professional, was in Boston just 2 nights and decided to treat myself to mani/​pedi and massage… It was wonderful… Stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth and Sway is less than a minute walk from hotel. Great Experience !!!

Very bad place for massage. Cold room. Cold hand. Inexperienced service! Don’t go there! walked out 20 minute of my one hour session.

Had a great experience here today, 90 minute massage, the place is clean and calming, the front desk employees are helpful and polite.
The massage rooms are nice and the therapist that worked on me did a very nice job.
Most impressed, I will definitely be referring our clients here and of course returning myself.

I had booked a Saturday appointment for 2 for an Aveda Spa Mani and Pedi at Sway for my best friend’s birthday. We got there, and were offered water and tea which was nice. Unfortunately, we had to wait 15 minutes because they were quite busy, but the staff was very nice and apologetic for the wait.
It was well worth the wait too! Pedi was so relaxing — Gina and Jackie were very friendly and did a great job. My feet were so soft and smooth after the Aveda scrub and lotion used too! Manicure was great. Even when my friend accidentally smudged her polish, Sweta was so friendly and quick to repair! Since our appt was a 3:45, we ended up closing out the place, but the manager, Ajay, and the staff were so very nice and we never felt rushed. They even did a little birthday candle blowout for my friend — so cute!
Pretty reasonable for what you get (70 bucks per person for spa mani/​pedi + tips). We both felt so relaxed, pampered, and ready for a night out :) So glad we came here!

The staff here is very accommodating, the prices are amazing and the results are great! We had a group of 5 and they made it very special for us! My pedicure still looks awesome after 3 weeks. I will definitely go back — highly recommend!

Crystal works magic with gel manicures! I happily followed Crystal from another spa because of her attention to detail, professionalism, and friendly demeanor. My nails are strong and growing! The photo I added to my review was taken after 2 trips to IKEA and the manual labor involved in hauling, assembling and moving 3 large pieces of furniture. I’m amazed my nails held up.
As a special treat I added the Sway pedicure to my last visit. Crystal’s relaxing touch soothed my aching feet and legs with a wondrous massage. My footsies are smooth to the touch and my polish beautifully matches my hands.

I’m so glad to have discovered Sway spa through Unilocal!Sweta is amazing. She has magical hands. I have got two Aveda enbrigtenment facials so far and absolutely loved them. Sweta takes good care of you during the facial and doesn’t rush through at all. The facial also includes complimentary scalp and feet massage. Wow!
The place is very clean and hygienic. The ambience is truly relaxing.
I see myself being a regular here. Can’t wait to go back.

My mother booked a massage for me for my birthday. I had never been to Sway before. It was a lovely experience! Martine was my therapist, and she was just amazing! She tended to my sore muscles in a way that was relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. She was very calm and quiet, allowing me the luxury of drifting off into my own thoughts. Though I don’t live in Boston, I plan to return here for a spa day soon!

This is my «new» nail salon! I’m new here to the area and fell in love with it. This place is truly relaxing, quiet, and the ladies working on your nails are skilled, extremely precise, and honor whatever you need. The experience was a quiet one (true relaxation!) and they were quiet with one another unlike many other places.
I had an issue with one of my toes going in (the nail had sort of ripped) and the woman who did my nails was so careful with it. I GREATLY appreciated this!
They use all new items fresh from a package and it is completely clean and sanitary. My nails are PERFECT and beautiful right now. I will absolutely be back! :-)

In Boston it seems like there are two types of salons/​spas: the ultra-​cheap, not-​super-​ethical, walk-​in places on Newbury street where you go for your bargain mani/​pedis, and the high-​end, actually relaxing «spa» experiences that you normally find at luxury hotels. Sway is a rare hybrid of the two. It’s incredibly clean, new, and a relaxing spa-​like experience, but at prices that won’t feel like an indulgence. The owners, a husband and wife, and incredibly nice and go the extra mile to give you a great experience. I got a Sway Pedicure, which came with more attention that I’m used to, expertly-​painted nails, and an actually effective massage – not just a disgruntled lady halfheartedly patting your calves.
I’ll definitely make this my regular spot. Can’t wait to go back.

I was looking for an ethical and fabulous nail salon/​spa, and I’ve found it. Sway in Kenmore Square not only lived up to, but exceeded my expectations. Very nice, courteous and helpful people. Gentle touch on my pedi, sample colors on my nails to make a final color choice, and an over-​coat with specks that really add pizazz to my toes! I had the Aveda Pedicure — which included a leg/​foot massage that went on and on. I was in heaven! Knowing that their staff is well-​paid and working under good working conditions makes me even more satisfied. This will be my go-​to spa from now on.

This place made me feel like royalty. I was visiting Boston for my birthday from Vegas and decided to treat myself. As soon as I walked in, the employee at the front counter had a beaming smile on her face and welcomed me. She could tell I wasn’t from the area and asked how I found the place. I told her I was staying at a hotel down the block and I was treating myself for my birthday. She wanted to make it special so she started playing a song from Youtube on the speaker system and she sang to me along with the massage therapist, Karen. It made me feel so special since I was visiting the town alone.
Karen, the massage therapist, has magic hands. I chose the stress relieving massage and she knew exactly how to help me relax. Her massage was so relaxing I felt like I was there for hours because I was so relaxed and forgot about time.
