History

Established in 2000.

TARANTA is the result of a marriage between Southern Italian Cuisine and Peruvian Cuisine, success is due to the quality of the food and service, and having a strong personality really helps. TARANTA cooks and lives Southern Italian cuisine with a Peruvian twist. Chef-Owner José Duarte who is originally from Peru

and his wife Anna, a Boston’s North End native, have focused on this massive feat and the critics agree, TARANTA has done it, better than ever. Top rated by Zagat and named the TOP 5 Peruvian Influenced Restaurants in the USA. Taranta became a green certified restaurant in October 2007 after completing several environmental changes. Taranta has received the City of Boston Green Business Award in 2008 and is continuing a sustainable, carbon neutral business practice for the next years. In 2011 Taranta received the Massachusetts Recycling Award and now planning a ISO 14 001 certification.
