The Envoy Hotel, Autograph Collection

I stayed here last weekend during the snow storm due to messed up flights. Let’s just say there are much worse places to end up snowed in!!!
This is probably my favorite hotel I have ever stayed in. It had all of the features I enjoy about marriotts as a platinum rewards member (read: safe, clean, reliable) with so much more!
Stayed for 4 nights with a girlfriend of mine in a two queen room. We both enjoyed the cool décor in the room and quirks of the hotel. What we didn’t enjoy so much was shower time. Since the window out into the room is a little sheer, One of us would awkwardly turn on their side in bed and entertain themselves on their phone while the other got in or out of the shower. We threw a towel over the door so the actual showering session was more covered and a non issue, thanks to my creative solutions. The toilet was in a true water closet so no issue there.
If you are a platinum member take the breakfast bonus! The voucher covered our full breakfast minus a few dollars every morning and the food was AMAZING! I also had a delicious flatbread for dinner and tequila cocktail the evening I arrived and thought both of them were also amazing.
You can not beat this location! The south station is a short walk away so getting around the city was super easy! Plus many of the big attractions were a short walk away– the north end, Quincy market, legal sea food, aquarium etc…
I will definitely stay here again, as long as the price doesn’t go too high.

The Envoy is a beautiful new hotel tucked right in Boston’s beautiful waterfront. When Marriott built this Autograph hotel they paid very close attention to detail.
The lobby is bright, open, and has comfortable seating with Windows all they way around. It has the wow factor for sure! The two women that checked us in were awesome and made sure we felt welcomed and all of our questions were answered.
The rooms are not huge but very functional and Über cool! I love that a bike holds the TV. The bathroom are nice with double showers, and separate toilet area. The beds, pillows, and linens are soft and cozy. The view is gorgeous if you get a waterfront view.
Lots of cool restaurants and bars close by. The hotel bar is great too. Great bartenders, specialty cocktails, nice bourbon and wines to choose from. The food did look good (we didn’t eat here tho).
The parking is a pain as you can’t find anywhere to self park, so just valet and yes it’s expensive.
If you get a chance check this hotel out! PS they are building an upscale shopping area next store!

LOVED this new hotel!
Completely impressed with the Envoy Hotel in Boston. In addition to the great location, the hotel atmosphere and service was first class and I enjoyed the quirky, comfortable room. Although not overly large — the bed, desk and bathroom area were well laid out and comfortable. I did not spend anytime in the lobby area — but several of my colleagues did and had a blast with the pool tables and drinks.

Whoever designed and decorated this place paid very close attention to detail. Even the small things… like the steps when you walk in (the end is lined with a ruler), have a unique aspect to them. If you pay attention and take notice you’ll see. It’s like watching a movie for the 2^nd time and thinking Wow I didn’t notice that.
The room was pretty small but had a grand view of south Boston and The water. The TV is on a bike.
They don’t offer free water in the hotel. Instead they have boxes water. Their mini bar is stocked with trendy organic granola items. If your with a granola loving tree hugger make sure They watch themselves around the mini bar because it can easily add an extra 75 bucks for these tiny snacks made for ants. They don’t even sell them at the front desk. Valet parking in 40 bucks.
I don’t think I would have stayed there if it wasn’t paid for. Overall nice place if you want to spend the money.

My husband and I live locally here in Southie, and we decided to pop into the Envoy open bar+ restaurant on the first floor for a quick celebratory drink. The space was very funky and inviting. The drinks were awesome and very reasonably priced too.
Their bar staff was the real hit. They were extremely accommodating and personal. Brian behind the bar over heard that we had never been to the roof top, so he arranged for the manager to take us up for a quick look even though it was closed which was awesome! Needless to say, we ended staying at the bar downstairs for 2 more hours for more drinks and a few apps!
This place well exceeded our expectations in every way! Especially the staff. They really made the experience. I would highly recommend this spot!

My boyfriend and I went to Boston and stayed at the Envoy for our 10 year anniversary over this past weekend (Friday-​Sunday). Let me just say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel, period. They helped make our anniversary unforgettable, and I am grateful to their team for all their help. First off, the hotel is in a great location – easy walking distance to everything, we walked literally everywhere (didn’t take an über or a cab even once). Second, the hotel is absolutely beautiful – I get that the décor might not be for everyone, but for this 25 year old urbanite it was perfectly modern, functional, and minimalist which is just the way I like it. Most of the people I noticed staying in the hotel were between 25 – 40 anyway, so it definitely has a younger vibe.
STAFF
Anyway, I booked one room with points and paid for the second night, and the hotel automatically upgraded my points reservation to match the paid room (since it was a better room), which was already giving me great vibes before I even got there. My boyfriend pulled all the stops – he had champagne, balloons, strawberries, and roses sent up to the room – and upon check-​out they told us everything was free of charge! We were incredulous, especially since my boyfriend ordered some things the hotel didn’t even offer and the manager had to go on his own time to a store to buy them! The manager he was working with, Bruno, gave my boyfriend his personal phone number so they could coordinate via text messages to make sure everything was a surprise for me (since we were driving from Philly). Obviously, this is above and beyond the level of service I expected. We were blown away.
RESTAURANT
We also ate in the hotel restaurant, but only once for breakfast since we wanted to explore the city. If anything, I would say pass on the breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, it was good and the restaurant is beautiful, but it’s breakfast. We went a mile down the road and got a great breakfast for ¹⁄₃ the cost at a little diner with a more Boston vibe. Didn’t try the place for dinner so can’t speak to it, but like I said it is a beautiful restaurant.
ROOM
As for the rooms, we stayed in a «Coveted Corner», which I would highly recommend. Waking up to the wonderful views of the harbor and the skyline was a real treat and the natural light was fantastic. For those that complained about the bathroom, I thought there was plenty of privacy, but I’m not a shy person. My only suggestion is to put a small fridge in the rooms, cause it was kind of a hassle not to be able to put restaurant «doggy bags» anywhere. I would also recommend they get an ice maker in the hotel somewhere, cause calling down for ice every time you want it is kinda lame. But those are super minor complaints. We also were right across from the Barking Crab restaurant, which many reviewers have complained about. For me, it wasn’t a big deal, but I live in Philadelphia proper so I am used to my fair share of noise while falling asleep. I can understand why it would be a problem for those that like to go to bed early, but the music stopped around 11:30, which isn’t too bad.
The rooftop bar was closed for the season, but the manager said he would be willing to open it up for us if we wanted to go up since the weather was unseasonably warm this weekend, but we didn’t get the chance. My only regret since I heard it was amazing!
Overall, we had a fantastic time at the hotel. The staff, and especially BRUNO, went above and beyond to give us an amazing experience that we will never forget.
PRO TIP: Don’t valet the car – $ 40 a night is an awful lot. We parked in one of the garages nearby and were able to get the parking validated at the children’s museum so we paid about $ 40 for both nights! Parking is also free on Sundays!

I stay in at a lot of hotels for my job but this one has got to be one of the nicest I’ve seen. Brand new, super trendy, gorgeous rooms, excellent service. Special thanks to Sara for her help in tracking down a much needed mini fridge. :)

This was such a nice surprise! The rooms were awesome (get the King water view if you can), the amenities were fabulous, the location was great, but the service was the best. They did not tell us ‘no’ for anything… even when the restaurant was closed and the hostess went and got me 2 cups of coffee to go… even when the rooftop bar was closed for the season, but the manager unlocked it for us to enjoy our wine up there. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Decided to splurge to celebrate my daughters 28^th birthday in September and was intrigued by modern photographs of the hotel and it’s location. While we had some minor glitches… which is to be expected with anew hotel, i.e. Computer, phone, and roof top bar management, the hotel staff went above and beyond in their efforts to remedy those glitches. The rooms are ultra chic and fun. The breakfast we had on Sunday morning was superb and affordable. When we told our waitress we needed to catch a train, she upped her game to accommodate. Can’t wait to return to that spectacular roof top bar, those great bartenders, servers and drinks… but most of all the views!

My kids (21&19) and I, traveled from Las Vegas to Boston on a red eye flight and stayed at this hotel for six days. We were very tired from our flight and they had us checked in at 10:30am!
When we got into the room our only complaint was the funky décor. However that would be our only complaint during our stay.
The staff here from every single bartender (my daughter and I saw them every night) to the valets are the friendliest I’ve ever met!
I’d like to praise the delightful young sweetheart of lady who works graveyard here. I do not know her name but she went out of her way on ¹⁰⁄₂₁ or ¹⁰⁄₂₂ to help my daughter find a 24 hour pharmacy. It was 3am and my snoring was keeping her awake. She called two places for her so we could find her some sleep aide. Although the sleep aide only worked for her for one night, and I had to get my own room the next, it was the same «sweetheart» that booked my room in the middle of night. She is the best!!!
The location of the hotel is prime in my opinion. Yes there is construction across the way, but the hotel is within walking distance to many things and excellent restaurants. After driving thru downtown Boston and by other several hotels in the heart of the city, this location is by far the best. It is easy to find as you are navigating and right on the water.
I’ve traveled all over the country and I’ve enjoyed my stay here the most. When I return to Boston the next time I will certainly choose this hotel for its excellent customer service.

I choose the Envoy, as I like to stay at small hotel for the better customer service. The hotel is located downtown Boston in walking distance to little Italy, shopping district and etc.
I give a 4 stars on customer service at the check in desk/​lobby staff, the room was modern and nice. However, I did not have a good experience at the roof top bar. For a hotel that is nearly $ 300 to $ 500+ a night, the bartenders were not attentive at all; not even a hello. The crowd was young; more like college kids rather than young working professionals. The roof top was so loud and packed that I didn’t stay long.
It’s great that the hotel offer free complimentary breakfast and evening beer/​wine on the 2^nd floor, but the breakfast was not mentioned during my check-​in or any info in the room.
Although the room was nice, there were no coffee or a fridge in the room. I only found out about the free breakfast and coffee/​tea lounge by passing it and there were no coffee cups and instructions on how to use the coffee/​latte machine.
This hotel has a lot of potential to be better in order for business people like myself to come back as a regular customer.

Love this hotel! Very welcoming front desk that explained everything. We had a water view room with the bed right in the middle. It was beautiful and perfect for our wedding anniversary celebration. We went to the roof top bar at 4 and had drinks and met new people. Great service and drinks. We will be back. The restaurant hadn’t opened yet but the had a club room where you can go and get free food and snacks. Great idea and came in handy. Oh ya, at 4:00 the bar was packed! No hype here. Truly busy place!

ROOFTOP LOUNGE
(Spoiler Alert – sorry to be a wet-​blanket on this one!)
Location and view are marvelous, but doesn’t merit the attitude of hostess and cocktail servers. The attitude is typical of these trendy hotspots. Servers act as if you are lucky they are waiting on you.
HOTEL
On the plus side, hotel staff are excellent. At check-​in I was greeted by a friendly staff member who was eager and genuinely interested in making my stay a great experience. Rooms are ultra modern, clean and spacious. Windows floor to ceiling which created wonderful natural light and energy in the room, compared to dark, dingy experiences often found in hotel rooms. Bathroom was tile floor to ceiling and the walk-​in shower was a great experience (faucet on opposite wall from shower head so you don’t have to reach through cold water to adjust the temp – a huge design plus! Couch is not really functional to sit on but fun to look at. Wireless connection was strong and reliable.

The hotel was modern, funky, and attractive. All staff member with friendly and helpful. The roof top bar is spectacular. Free breakfast. Easy wifi access. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I would defiantly go back.
You do have to pay for parking tho but it’s one flat rate.

Just not my style but all I could get at short notice. Rooms are good size, silly modern furniture, TV on a bicycle frame, mid century chair, nothing that you can snuggle down into. No coffee machine in room. Shower was huge, sink area small. Bathrobe trendy.
Restaurant not open yet so you have to send out for food which takes 45 mins.
Check in — pleasant enough but the desk had no space to tip out your purse if you need to hunt for something.
Roof top bar — large noisy and crowded.
People seemed to like it… I grew weary

Impeccable Service
Stayed for a Friday-​Sunday summer weekend. Check in was quick, and they even moved it up 3 hours. When pulling our car into the garage, our tire popped while being driven by the parking attendant. The manager immediately contacted us, already put a claim in for a new tire, and assured us it would be fixed within a few hours. Shortly after I received a call that they had fixed the tire free of charge and had our car ready to go. Unbelievable customer service.
Overall the rooms are furnished in a nice modern fashion. The view from our window was great & we’ll absolutely be coming back when we’re in Boston. Highly recommend to all.

This applies only to the rooftop bar.
IN NYC, they would have never opened this bar without training the staff first. Service is terrible. One star for creative drinks. Smith and Wollensky may not have rooftop but they have servers who know how to serve at a place charging $ 15 a drink. And they have outdoor space. Nice view but if you’re thirsty, the view becomes secondary.
BTW, on a hot day, serving iced water WITH ice should be automatic.

This new Marriott property is in an excellent location. Room was very nice and the staff was fantastic. The rooftop bar is a very popular, hip spot. Hotel guests do not have to wait in line, which is a plus. Harbor walk, great restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. Nicely done! We will return soon. Nathan Youngs the security/​doorman for the rooftop is extremely accommodating and very friendly. In fact, all the staff was outstanding. The GM visited with us on the roof top and was involved to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. As a Marriott Rewards Member for MANY years, this is a gem is a great City.

Very cool modern hotel. Great customer service too. Only been open a week so everything is clean and brand new. Would definitely stay here again.

So far, really awesome!
Lovely views of the city skyline. Nice layout; it felt bustling but never crowded. Diverse mix of patrons— i.e., mix of ages and professions and good ratio of hotel guests to locals, which was great.
Their current bites menu is limited; mainly hummus with pita, chips and spinach dip, and other small bits. The spinach dip wasn’t flavored very well; it tasted like bland creaminess— we couldn’t really taste any herbs, garlic, or spicing.
Clearly, this place is pretty new and you’re going more for the drinks and views; if you’re starving, be sure to grab something elsewhere first since the bites menu is more for grazing right now.
Can’t wait to come back!
