History
Established in 1985.
The Renfrew Center opened in June 1985 in Philadelphia as the 1st residential facility exclusively dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders. Renfrew’s goal was to provide first-rate treatment to those in recovery and bring national attention to the hidden epidemic of eating disorders. As the demand for high-quality eating disorders treatment grew, Renfrew responded. Five years after opening in Philadelphia, Renfrew opened a 2nd residential treatment facility in Coconut Creek, FL. Since then, additional sites have opened throughout the country, allowing Renfrew to offer a full continuum of care residential, day, intensive outpatient and outpatient services. Renfrew has provided more than 65,000 women with the tools they need to succeed and has trained nearly 30,000 professionals from the U.S. and abroad. Today, with its unmatched record of experience, Renfrew continues to be a leader in the development of new and innovative treatment and training approaches.
