minus 1 star for not enough seating. I was getting tired towards the end of the night. I attended the wine tasting Wednesday, January 14 sponsored by Landmark Vineyards. It was a fantastic experience. The bartender would explain the origins of the wines, where the grapes came from and the purpose the winemaker was trying to accomplish with this bottle like most wine tastings and switched it up a little every time so if you’re standing at the bar, you don’t hear the same lines over and over. Landmark’s Representative was sincere and extremely sociable. He worked the room conversing with every group of people to see what they thought, gave us a little history lesson of the company and made sure we had the full experience and tasted the wines in the right order. *Because of Landmark’s Rep, this review get’s an extra star back, making it 5

Sonsie is not my favorite place but the Wine Room is great. It is a great place for conversation and great wine. The bartenders know what they are talking about, are nice, and good looking. It’s a good place to go and have a relaxing conversation or a conversation to relax!

So everyone knows Sonsie. It’s that place on Newbury Street you can go during the summer and do some good old-fashioned people-watching, either at the window tables or at the interior tables(where I once spied Tom Brady with a financial planner having brunch). But who really knows what became of that schizoid cavern they used to call Red Room downstairs at Sonsie? Well, it’s been reborn as «The Wine Room @ Sonsie» and you couldn’t ask for a better spot to unwind with your best people, some snacks, dessert(they do a mean chocolate chip cookie with ice cream), and a bottle of wine(they have about a billion bottles of just about every variety and varietal you can imagine). Five stars.
