History
Established in 1994.
Thom Brown was established nearly 40 years ago in New York City, as a designer and manufacturer of chic, fashion footwear. The brand was always original and cutting edge.
Thom Brown often introduced styles into the market like covered wedge sandals, and wing-tip oxfords for women, well before they came into the main stream. Often, many of the styles that Thom Brown introduced would later become major fashion trends.
In the 1970’s and 1980’s, the brand was manufactured and distributed throughout the United States. Thom Brown styles could be found in the many of the nation’s top specialty fashion boutiques, retailers, and department stores.
In the early 1990’s, Thom Brown opened a retail footwear boutique on Boston’s fashionable Newbury Street. Over the years, more Thom Brown boutiques followed. Thom Brown quickly became the destination for the latest in trend setting fashion footwear.
