I’ve moved many times, so I have experienced many dentist offices all over the country. Warshauer & Santamaria is by far, the most welcoming, most elegant, and most beautiful office I have ever seen. I get very nervous when I need to see a dentist, but from the moment I entered their office, I felt relaxed because they create almost a spa atmosphere. The receptionists are friendly and they even researched my insurance for me so that I knew what coverage I could expect. My experience became even better after having my teeth cleaned by Melina– an expert hygienist. I’m incredibly sensitive and have often cried when having my teeth cleaned in the past. Melina went to great lengths to make sure that she did not cause me any pain, while not compromising the incredible cleaning she gave me! She did such an amazing job, I now go to the dentist every couple of months just so Melina can clean my teeth! It’s like having a spa treatment because my teeth have never looked so beautiful! Dr. Santamaria then explained my gum problems and took the time to suggest some plans to help me with my dental health in the future. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Warshauer & Sanatmaria is the best dental office with the best people I have ever experienced in my lifetime!

Been a patient at this «Four Seasons» dental office for a couple of years now. Definitely not your run-​of-​the mill practice. Superb staff. Not cheap, but absolute perfection from highly skilled practitioners of the art of dentistry. Arguably the best in Boston.

I have been going to this office for over 15 years — everyone is top notch at what they do. The hygienists are great. Always helpful, always looking out for the patient’s best interest. Over the years I’ve had a few emergencies which they have always handled immediately and with great care. I have great confidence in the Santamaria team.
I drive an hour to visit this office and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

What an amazing establishment! The office is clean, modern, and the staff are wonderful. I just switched over to this office and am so glad that I did. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was friendly and answered any questions I had and Dr. Santamaria is so sweet. I ended up seeing Dr. Hopeck a week later and wow, what a doctor! She is smart, thorough and had me cracking up the entire time.
I think the staff here are very honest and give recommendations based on how it will benefit your overall health. I highly recommend this place for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and how attentive they are to their patients.

100% comfort level with all members of the staff. I always feel that I am in the hands of professionals and I feel confident that I will receive the best care possible. Everyone from the front desk to the medical staff are exceedingly friendly. They know my children and take interest in the entire family. Love this practice.

I just had an appointment here today for a second opinion. Dr. Santamaria was very gentle and kind, explaining everything to me. While a dentist at Gentle Dental told me I had a huge number of cavities that needed to be filled immediately, she seemed to take a more conservative approach (which I appreciate!) to drilling into teeth. The staff were all very nice and the office is lovely. As someone who really hates going to the dentist, I would definitely recommend them.

Your new office is beautiful, but very noisy. I could overhear conversations of other patients and their care providers, even when I had no interest in doing do. No privacy. And the noise does not create a calm or relaxing setting. Love your dental care, but not your new office

I am not a fan of the dentist, just as most people are not fans of the dentist either. I have been coming here for 15 years. I have always been very pleased with the service, professionalism and demeanor of all the staff. Most importantly I have been pleased with the results and do not feel as if I have ever «been taken for a ride.» I did not have dental insurance and paid cash for all services for quite awhile and always felt that everything that was recommended was reasonable and indicated. Staff always took the time to explain to me why they felt I should have work done.
I would highly recommend them to everyone. I left after 15 years only because I moved outside of the city and it was jut too inconvenient for me to come in during the workday.

**UPDATE**: The receptionist called me to say that she was able to get in touch with my insurance company and re-​submit my claim and that she would let me know as soon as it came in. However, while I was waiting, the owner, Dr. Santamaria called me to discuss my claim. She apologized for any frustrations I experienced with them and was very nice. She also offered to clear my account to zero and we parted ways amicably. **UPDATE**
Original Review:
— They found a tooth that was unhealthy, proceeded to tell me how I needed to take care of it right away, paraded in person after person that told me how I needed to take immediate action.
— They brought in a statement with charges on there that they said would «most likely» based on their experience be taken care of through insurance. Receptionist originally billed it to a completely wrong insurance carrier and demanded payment. I pointed it out and she re-​billed it to the «correct» insurance carrier which she typed in all lower caps and researched on the internet for five minutes and still couldn’t find a proper billing address and still came back me to saying that it wasn’t paid.
— They NEVER called me back for a follow up appointment, despite acting SO concerned because my current invoice is being researched by my insurance agent, since the receptionist does not care to help you and only asked me point blank on the phone to charge $ 1000 on my credit card.
–They will harrass with you phone calls and invoices and still have done nothing to further my care. My tooth is EXACTLY the same as it was from the beginning.

I moved to Boston in 2011 and wanted to find a dentist near where I live. I received a nice welcome letter from Warshauer and Santamaria with a coupon worth $ 25 for the first visit. I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned, just to see if I liked their work. When I arrived, I found the staff to be very cheerful and pleasant. They offered me a cup of tea while I sat in the comfortable waiting room. I thought I was off to a good start.
The technician called me in and, after I was seated, asked me if I wanted a rinse to determine if I had oral cancer. My old dentist used to do that by visual examination, so I declined. Then she told me I needed to have new x-​rays. I was surprised by this, because they could have asked my old dentist for my recent x-​rays, but I went along. The technician cleaned my teeth quickly and expertly, and then began measuring the gap between my gums and my teeth. After she finished that, she told me I had to have my teeth deep-​cleaned, as the gums were in bad shape. This procedure requires four visits at $ 450 a visit. I don’t have dental insurance, and said, «That’s $ 2,000!» She said, «Less.»
Then I went to see Dr. Santamaria, who is very pleasant and gracious. She told me there were things that needed to be done, including bone reconstruction where there had been an extraction, and an implant. I had asked my former dentist about that and he told me to wasn’t worth the expense. The total expense of what she told me I needed came to nearly $ 10,000.
I decided to get a second opinion from the dentist a friend of mine goes to. That dentist told me I needed an old filling replaced, and an old bonding replaced, total cost $ 700. She performed the same gum to tooth measurements, and told me my gums were in perfect shape. I went with the new dentist.
I can’t complain about the actual treatment I received, and I can’t complain about the way I was treated by the doctor and staff. But I’m glad I went somewhere else for the second opinion. It’s too bad I don’t trust them, because they’re right around the corner from where I live, and it would have been more convenient for me, but I’ll never go back.

I have been going here since 1987. My whole family goes there. We love them. When Dr Warshauer does work, it is smooth, pretty much painless, and great looking. I have a few bridges that Mark did and they look great and feel wonderful. The staff is friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Warshauer and Santamarie !

For years, I hated going to the dentist.
Now, I look forward to my appointments! Finally, a dentist that does solid, smart work and quite frankly just honestly nice people. Every single one of the people there. Specifically I see Dr. Santa Maria.
I would socialize with all of the Baker & Warshauer and Santa Maria staff outside of the dentist chair. Yes, they are that friendly and sincere. And they remember me from my previous visit.
Over the past few years, I have been replacing all of my fillings from when I was a lollipop sucking, soda drinking, cupcake eating little kid. My teeth are fantastic now, and I owe it all to the entire staff!

Let me just throw something out there real quick: I HATE the dentist. I mean, everyone hates the dentist… but I really, REALLY hate the dentist.
Here’s why. Everyone is always like, «YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SMILE,» but I tell you, my teeth are like that Gwyneth Paltrow movie where she’s in the Fat Suit and Jack Black is like I ONLY LIKE PRETTY GIRLS and then that Tony Fellow hypnotizes him and he’s all, OH GWYNNY, YOU ARE GORGEOUS but really he’s just seeing her inner beauty manifested on the outside.
My teeth are JUST like that. But in reverse as they look pearly but are actually rotting away from my skull.
So trust me when I say I am a TOUGH customer when it comes to Dentist’s I can stand behind. And I can really get behind these guys. Sure, I still have millions of problems but instead of the quick fix they give me all my options, including the pricey ones, and then let me make a KNOWLEDGEABLE call. I never feel like I’m being taken for a ride. My most recent excursion there cost a pretty penny but they worked with me and my insurance coverage to make sure my personal wallet expenditure was at a minimum and that’s some good stuff.
Not pushy. Organized. So, SO friendly. They remember me every time I show up. Best of all, they don’t do the dreaded move that has put every dentist in my past in my personal burn book: accuse me of not flossing. Because I am serial flosser and that ish is WRONG. Get off my back.
So in sum, if you’re looking for a great dentist who really cares about YOU, go here. They are spectacular and deserve all the business they can get.

Rarely do I feel compelled to write a review about a dentist, but this office is horrible.
The receptionist, Kitty is quite possibly the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered. She acts as if she is doing you a favor by deigning to acknowledge your presence and seems annoyed that she has to do things like verify your insurance. Her demeanor on the phone is not much better. They try to sell every possible dental service imaginable to you. During my last visit, no fewer than 3 people spoke to me about Invisalign (sp?) braces for the reasonable cost of $ 6000. They also called me twice after the visit to see if I wanted to set up the $ 300 intake. I passed. By the way — I have already had braces.
This office is super-​convenient for me (I work just across the Mass Ave bridge), but I am on the hunt for a new dentist. One who actually treats patients with respect would be a good start.

I was so excited to have dental insurance again when I began my full-​time job (how many months had it been since I last had my teeth cleaned???), but this dental office makes me wish I were still doing my own home dentistry.
I get a bad vibe… from the hygienist, the receptionist, and the doctor, all of whom seem more interested in selling me on various services than they are in whether I actually need the work done. Last time I went in for a cleaning, the hygienist’s bedside manner was awful… first she asked me what kind of ultra dark roast coffee I drink that stains my teeth so badly (for the record, I drink one cup of regular coffee per day), then she told me they had lost my forms (the info sheets i filled out on my first visit), then she proceeded to spray me in the face repeatedly with water while cleaning my teeth, and didn’t ask me if i wanted to spit, rinse out my mouth, or even swallow the whole time she was poking around in there. It was very unpleasant.
They gave me such a hard sell and were so pushy about scheduling my next appointment before I left that I decided I have to find a new dentist. Too bad, because this place is right around the corner from my house and looks very posh from the outside. But beware the strong-​arm treatment inside!
