This little shop is just north of Main Street in Bothell. What a wonderful seamstress with just a delightful smile.
I was going to have my neighbor hem my daughter’s homecoming dress, but when she looked at it, she told me it was best to have a professional do it. My neighbor is a fantastic seamstress, but she was uneasy about working with chiffon.
The woman at Grace Tailor doesn’t say much, but I can’t get over what a sweet smile and face she has.
I haven’t had anything altered professionally in years, so I really didn’t know what to expect to pay for this hem. The dress was chiffon with a sateen under-​layer.
She had it finished in 5 days, and the hem was just beautiful. Both hems were so clean and well sewn. Better than the original finish. And, it cost only $ 38.00.
I have a few other items I need to have altered, and I won’t hesitate to go back to Grace Tailor.

I have had my dress pants hemmed here for the last 20 years. That’s at least 10 – 15 pieces and have always had high quality work and never an issue. I highly recommend them. Thanks!

what a nice lady, she was wonderful, I had 3 new pant to hem and she did a great job. It was not expensive adn she greated me wiht a smile. Very nice.

This is a great little place! I had 2 dresses shortened there for a very reasonable price. She did a great job. There is a slight language barrier so be sure to word things carefully. But she is very nice and does an amazing job!

Wonderful work and attention to detail at reasonable yet competitive prices. Started coming to her for years and been bringing items for hemming, contour fitting, and alterations including re-​lining my leather handbag clutch! She found and used suede material for the lining — making it look so much more expensive. Even reusing the original stitches in the leather.
When I brought a floor length chiffon gown that needed the strap shortened, beads moved and inches of fabric around the bustline fitted to my bodyshape, I was surprised at her delicate touch in pinning the gown. Her touch is light as a feather… adjusting the fabric as if she was «one with the material» to get it to do as she wanted it to flow. She understands fabric… its weight and capability. During her tailoring she stepped back to exam the entire garment to ensure it fit as it should. Upon returning to pick up the gown, I was surprised on how professional and perfect it fit. It also looked like it was not tailored, but created from the manufacturers. I couldn’t tell where cuts or alterations were actually done! Since my first visit, I’ve been back and never been disappointed.
Overall very quick and professional even as her business has grown where she is very busy but still hits her promised dates. Love that fact that she will step back and ensure alterations do not impact other parts of the garment that might change the fit.
She understand materials, fit and customer service and always provides it professionally. Highly recommend her services and hoping she continues operating for her small shop. The shop may be small, but reminds me of a family sewing area. She has a dressing room, spools of different color threads, shelves of fabrics, racks of competed work and incoming work, a large mirror and platform to stand. A true artisan at work… so step into her the world even for 10 minutes…
It’s been years and I’m so glad to see her little shop is packed with customer clothing that she has tailored. I worried with the tough economy that she would be out of business. She survived and does all the work by herself! She is always so sweet too and her husband is so nice and pleasant.

I switched to this alterations business from one closer to my house. Prior to, I called around the Bothell and Kirkland area to compare prices, it is comparable to all of the ones I called.
The owners are an old Korean lady who speaks some English and her older husband who barely speaks any English. They are both nice and polite. Their space is tiny and cramped, but good quality of work.
I haven’t had any issues with the quality of any of my alterations being hemmed or taken in. (slacks, jeans, shirts, dresses, gowns, and a leather jacket) I’m short so I have to get almost everything hemmed. Many of the threading on the hems on my shirts and dressed ripped from the old tailor I was going to.
I’m happy that I found this place.

My main impression leaving this business was that the value was not good. The work was average to slightly below average quality, but the prices were extremely high. I had one pair of dress pants hemmed and the waist taken in, one polo was shortened by 2″ and the sides were taken in, and one dress shirt had the sides taken in. The cost was $ 77! I’ve had similar work done in the past for $ 40 or so.
I also had to come back 3 times to get the pants right. From the other reviews i read it sounds like this place may be worth the money for women’s clothes, but it really wasn’t for my men’s clothes.

Yes, she is fabulous. I’m a seamstress who has trouble with her hands and patience these days (and I’ve always had a loathing for working with slippery chiffon), and I take MY stuff to her for alterations. Especially anything fancy, intricate, chiffon, slippery fabrics, knits, she does it all, beautifully. When I make my daughter’s wedding gown over the next 2 years, I will be bringing it to Grace Tailor for a final fitting to make sure everything is absolutely perfect for the big day.

Had a long dress hemmed — $ 40, which I thought was pricey for a simple hem. The place is old and cramped, but she had it done in a week.

I’m so grateful that Tawnie posted her review of Grace Tailor. I’m new enough to the area that I didn’t have a trusted place to go for alterations. Now I do!
Grace did a fabulous job hemming a pair of my dress pants and replacing the zipper on a pair of men’s jeans. Both items look great and are holding up perfectly. I believe it took about a week before the work was done (I had it done back in October and can’t remember the exact time frame) but I was not in a hurry and didn’t ask her to rush it. I don’t know if she offers expedited service if you need your items back more quickly.
I’ll definitely be going back to Grace when I need future alterations!

This is the little gem hidden in the heart of Bothell. Quite honestly, I try not to tell people about this wonderful tailor (because I’m selfish when it comes to getting my clothes custom tailored perfectly!). The lady who works there is the super sweet, makes you want to put her in your pocket and take her home, type of business owner I wish I ran into more often. Soft spoken, Korean lady, who can do a mean jean hem.
She really takes her time when she works with you too. Your clothes are not just «another thing to do». After she pins the thing you want taken care of i.e. a strap shortening, skirt hemming/​fitting — she will then look at the whole picture to make sure things aren’t pulling awkwardly and that you get the flattering silhouette you typically only dream of.
It’s a one woman show in that little shop, but she seems to keep busy whenever I stop by.
If everything I’ve written isn’t reason enough to make you take all your fave clothes to her to get some extra life out of them with a perfect tailoring session, here is further proof that she may be the best of the best in the area: I live in Seattle. If I need to get my clothes worked on, it takes me over an hour bus ride to get to her. But she’s absolutely worth it.
She’s done work for me on various types of fabric– jeans (A– LOT), chiffon, leather (stitching repair, but she made it look like new), silks, cotton, stretch cottons, jersey, wool — and every time I’ve picked up my stuff, it looks like it was brand new as if the manufacturer made it custom for moi.
Her prices are very reasonable (dare I say, even on the lower side).
In summary, the woman does magic.
