Mona Estes originally opened Creative Hands in 1999. She is back after 7 years as once again the owner. We are looking at remodeling and updating the shop this year to better serve our clients in a welcoming setting.

Thank you Carina, as usual… your scissor and razor wizardry cannot be beat. Carina is very talented… as are all of the stylists. She gives me a very complicated asymmetrical bob… and I always tell her to do the bangs like they were chewed by a raccoon or honey badger (an undercut)…they turn out amazing… way better than it sounds. ;-) Stella gave my fiancé an amazing cut that lasted forever… which was great because you know guys never want to bother with haircuts. The stylists at Creative Hands are all about perfection and the prices are beyond fabulous for this high-​style women’s cut. Do make up to it with these amazing stylists with the tip as well. They deserve it.

STELLLAAAAAA! She exceeded my expectations. She is sweet, professional, fun, and talented. The vibe in that salon is very chill. The other hairdresser is very nice as well. I am very very protective over my long hair and haven’t let anyone touch it for over 20 years. Stella put me at ease and also NAILED the Ombré style and color is spot on and I will be back and refer others to her.

I took my 3 ½ year old son to get one of the only few haircuts he’s had so far and it was the best one he’s had yet. Stella was very sweet to both of us and did a great job making him feel comfortable and with the cut. My little baby looks like a little kid now– so handsome. When we left, he said of Stella, «I like that lady. She was really nice.» We’ll be going back when it’s time for another cut!

I am very pleased with the friendly service here. I have not let anyone touch my hair in seventeen years so I was a bit anxious walking in. Stella worked with me to find a gorgeous color and cut my hair exactly as I wished. Probably better than the picture. Prices are great and so are the folks that work here. I will be back.

I was way overdue for a haircut and wanted to change up my style a little bit. Mona was busy, but Elaine was available for a walk in. She was very nice and put up with my strange specifications (no wash and dry and no product) and gave me a great cut looking at a picture of something I wanted to aim for, knowing that my hair was wavy and would kind of do what it wanted. She was very friendly and gave me a great price for a great cut. Would definitely go back again!

My daughter and I love Mona! Not only does she have the skills, her prices are very resonable and she is a pleasure to talk to while in the chair.
When I found Mona, my color was a mess and my ends were singed — another salon had overprocessed it. She fixed the color and helped me get my healthy hair back again. I decided to go darker recently and I love the new color and shine!
For my daughter, she is almost 10 and likes to maintain a unique style. Mona did the cutest asymetrical cut on her and we get compliments everywhere we go by total strangers. It’s a tricky cut and she did it so perfectly — it’s adorable.

Mona is wonderful with all types of hair – mine is thin, fine and stick straight and my daughter’s is the exact opposite – wavy and gorgeously thick. Mona makes us both look good!!! And color :) Wonderful!

Many thanks, Unilocal ladies for pointing me in the direction of Mona. I went to her on your recommendations to correct a truly abysmal cut I got after losing my long time sytlist. Not only did she correct it, but I am so happy with the cut she gave me I may just keep it this way. I am amazed and pleasantly surprised to find such a talented stylist in our little town. I went there on a recommendation by Annie. I was extremely pleased to find a good hair salon so close to my house. Mona counsels you about what is doable with your hair and what is not. I’m very happy to have found this place and now unfortunately I have to move to So. Calif. and am tasked with finding someone as good as Mona down south.

If you live in the San Lorenzo Valley, check out Mona. She is extremely talented and knowledgeable, had years of experience, and is excellent with women, men and children alike. I find her pricing very fair and competitive — and her styling abilities rival those of the higher-​priced salons. Mona has helped determine which hairstyles will actually work with my hair type, face structure, etc. She really listens to what I want and gives sound advice so I don’t end up with a style that just won’t work! Mona has been my hair stylist for years!
