I had been with Alpine Dentistry for 6 years from 2008 – 2014. I just moved out of Boulder and thought to write this review after looking back and realizing that those were the 6 best years for my teeth! The one thing people hate about dentists is if they ask you to do unnecessary procedures just to make money. Dr. Travis has the opposite view — «why meddle when they are working fine». He never recommended I do anything major(even though I have 4 major trouble spots) and I have healthy teeth with no meddling. My cleanings were thorough and the fillings I need once or twice were done very professionally. Overall a fantastic practice and I highly recommend it!

I would avoid Alpine Dentistry at all costs. They«identified» a dark spot forming on my back molar that may have been a start of a cavity. They then recommended that I have it filled to prevent it from getting bigger. Then, during the procedure, the dentist cracked my tooth! I noticed that it hurt a lot at one point when he was drilling, despite having Novocaine, and the dentist looked surprised. I started to have a lot of pain eating for a few weeks afterwards, so when I went back in to have the tooth examined. Another dentist, not the one that worked on me, told me that my tooth was cracked and that the only thing I could do is to wait for the tooth to fall apart, then crown it. My tooth was definitely not cracked when I went into their office(have Xrays to prove it) and I’m furious that they cracked it, didn’t let me know afterwards, and wouldn’t own up to their mistake. I’m in daily pain now and can’t eat anything hard on my left side. Thanks, Alpine Dentistry, for making my tooth worse and causing me a lot of pain. I rarely post reviews, but felt it necessary to warn people to avoid Alpine Dentistry and hopefully save them some pain.

My wife visited Dr. Travis to have a cavity filled earlier this year. After a few months the filling cracked and caused great discomfort. She contacted Dr. Travis to receive a refund since she was not going to return to Dr. Travis to have the filling fixed. She was met with antagonism and horrible customer service. The receptionist challenged the fact that she waited 5 months after the procedure to call(the filling cracked after 5 months), tried to get her to drop the claim because«our insurance is picking up the tab» and ultimately implied she was lying to get out of paying the balance due on the invoice. Only after visiting the office so Dr. Travis could examine the cracked filling, the balance was finally removed and they told her that they went out of their way to remedy the situation their customer service was above and beyond what any other service-provider would offer. I recommend contacting another dentist if you are in the market for considerate and professional service.
