I LOVE this place — since moving from Boston, it is my go-to café to meet clients, do work, and enjoy the mountain views from their windows. Great lattes, nice people, and beautiful views — what else could you ask for in a café?

The girl who took my order was so sweet, she offered to get my son a hot chocolate and engaged him in conversation too, she has long hair and is about 20 something, best service I’ve had in boulder in a long time, I love kid people!

Love this little place. The barista, Venessa, is awesome! She’s pretty, sweet, engaging, and makes a damn good latte! Highly recommend it

If you want the most phenomenal cappuccino in Boulder… go here! I’m an espresso geek, and I live for the foamy, frothy goodness that a well made capp features. I’ve been to the Amante on Walnut several times while wandering around Pearl Street, but have only run in and out for a quick cup of coffee(Amante’s drip coffee is actually pretty fantastic, as well). I stumbled upon the Baseline location last week, while looking for a place to get some work and reading done. The interior of the coffee shop is modern, urban chic, and extremely clean… it boasts an incredible view of the mountains on the top floor, but all the action is going on at the espresso bar downstairs! It was reasonably crowded for a coffee shop at five thirty in the evening; and I was surprised to find out that all Amantes also feature and serve a(pretty much) full bar. I was tempted to get an Irish Coffee, but settled on the cappuccino after the barista promised she would make a fierce one. This tall, tattooed barista(on a side note, I enjoyed talking about my ink with her as she prepared my beverage; tattoos and espresso are two of my passions, what can I say?) wasn’t lying-the cappuccino I was served shortly after ordering was heavenly. The taste of the espresso and the quality of the foam were perfect. In addition to the best capp ever, the atmosphere of this place is on point. Bravo! I will definitely be back.

Okay, so ordinarily I love this Amante – it’s my favorite study space in Boulder, and I usually really enjoy the drinks and the atmosphere. But today, the baristas were rude, which left me feeling embarrassed and like I don’t want to go back to this location. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, because I expect a Vietnamese coffee to be sweet and creamy and I thought an iced version would be lovely for a hot day like today. I got it, and tried it, and found it was barely sweet at all, though creamy and strong and otherwise tasty. I didn’t complain, I just took it over to the station with milk and sugar and such and added some simple syrup. In the background, within earshot behind the counter, one of the baristas commented disdainfully to the other, «Well that’s a first – I’ve never seen someone think the Vietnamese iced coffee wasn’t sweet enough!» and the other responded affirmatively. I hurried back to my seat, embarrassed, and finished the drink quickly so I could leave. So, two problems here – the baristas were rude about a customer’s preferences within their hearing, and they were also just… kinda wrong. Vietnamese coffee is supposed to be full-bodied, creamy, and sweet – this drink was the first two but not the last. This is my first time complaining about service in a Unilocal review, but this was rude enough that I felt compelled to comment.

Second time I’ve come to Amante on baseline early(before 7) this year and they have been closed. We showed up yesterday at 6:45 and they were closed and dark. The parking lot was filled with disappointed customers cuz the door says open 5:45 every day. How are these people employed? Hire some dependable people, and what’s with the homeless people who live above on the roof are they letting this happen or just totally ignorant? Put a lock on the top ladder to the roof, just sayin!

When you walk in the coffee shop, the décor is grey and lacks color and life. The barista was not friendly whatsoever and I waited several minutes before he even acknowledged me. I know he was making other drinks, but a friendly«hello» would have been great on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a small vanilla latte with almond milk. When he was done, he just left it on the pickup counter. Ok… There was no one else after me. He could of said something! He then proceeded to sit down and talk to his buddies. There were a few people on their laptops, but the place seems so dead and lacked any type of character. It reminded me of a zombie movie… well, kind of, but you get the point. The drink? That tasted dead too.

It is a nice place. Clean, with a decent amount of seating, and the coffee is pretty good. Also, if you want to setup your laptop, it is well-suited for that as well.

We are visiting from out of town and decided to grab a quick breakfast coffee and tea. This place is tucked in an complex in between café mexiplace and xfinity that isn’t very visible from the road. They have GF products and decent prices.

Pretty decent coffee, which is hard to find in Boulder, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Lovely location. One of the staff was very kind and helpful, however, my experience was sullied by one of the staff members, who was unbelievably rude to me. While the coffee was wonderful, I honestly was very offput by the unkind remarks made in my direction. I will consider giving it a second chance, as I understand this is not the fault of the establishment, and the coffee was good.

So I got a gift card to this coffee shop. I went in excited to use it, and what I got was a bad taste in my mouth. The card reading software was down, which happens, I understand. No big deal. However, the barista couldn’t have been more unpleasant. He just seemed annoyed that I was there in the first place, and extra annoyed that I wanted to use a gift card. I’ll try the other location someday, but this location has been ruined.

I love all the Amantes, but I gotta say that the Baseline location is my favorite. The guys here working the counter take the cake. They are super friendly and funny, and their personalities add to the perk factor of awesome coffee. Plus, it’s the least mobbed of all three(no dudes in bike jerseys yelling at the TV while you work!).

The best cappuccino I’ve had in Boulder. I don’t recommend eating the sandwich-like food here. The staff isn’t always the most friendly and outgoing, but man is their coffee out of this world!

Came to Amante after a hike and was super excited because the interior is incredibly cute! Plenty of Italian flare, cool color combinations, and cozy seating. The coffee itself tasted pretty good, but came ¾ of the way filled. The service was the biggest downfall for me. Both baristas were very moody, unfriendly, and unhelpful. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere next time I am in town.

The location is great, the coffee is good. You seriously can’t get a better view of the Flatirons than on the outside rooftop porch, at any other coffee shop I know of in Boulder. It’s a great place to come and sit and study or write or meet with a friend. The service is good, but it’s not amazing. The people are cool but I don’t really feel like there is much of a connection. Maybe it is a newer set of coffee people, I’m just not sure. Overall I really like the place. You really can’t beat the view!

I like coming here to work– never crowded– not too loud. I do think it is a touch overpriced– $ 4 for iced tea and lately the service has been sub par– not calling drinks well, reluctant to bring it to you. No one smiles which drives me crazy. I like coffeehouses to feel friendly not snobby, And Amante is definitely sliding toward snobby. Also, I think adding a frequent customer program would be nice. EDIT: BTW– the photo I included is not meant to single out any baristas. Though if one thought I might be talking about them and their«anti-starbucks» ways– maybe they should consider what the customer is asking for rather than snubbing the comment. No one is asking for all smiles all the time but you could at least pretend that you are glad to be there or have a sense of humor– it is called being polite. Also– They have added a frequent customer program-Yay!

Being the coffee shop whore that I am, I have tried several of them in my short stint here in Boudler and this is my go-to spot now. Partly that’s because I live in South Boulder and this is close by… but wait, there’s more! –Parking is great –Their selection of teas is fantastic, and it’s loose leaf, another plus –Service is pretty good, although I haven’t been there yet when it’s crowded –Wifi is stellar –Décor and layout is really nice. It’s got two floors, with couches, comfy chairs, a patio, and a TV upstairs. –There are a decent amount of outlets for you laptoppers –They serve alcohol starting at 7a.m. if that’s your thing Complaints: –If you sit in the wrong spot, you could have freezing cold AC blasting on you –Tea is 3 bucks. That’s steep to me, no pun intended. But they serve it in cute little teapots! –Snack food selection is minimal if that’s your thing –Slight negative they close at 7pm. Could be worse but would be nice if they stayed open til at least 8(especially since they serve alcohol!) Overall, I’m a fan and frequent the place regularly. I tried the Amante downtown and this one kicks its ass.

This is the newest location of the popular local chain. It is not my usual coffee choice since the other locations have not been convenient, so I thought I’d try this one out. It is in a highly visible new shopping center with what seems like decent parking at this point. It is the first store to open, so we shall see. It is very attractive inside, with marble tables, an architectural steel staircase to the upstairs loft seating and a lot of natural light. There is a cluster of seating around a very large screen TV, if that appeals to you. There is wifi and there were dozens of people camped out using it though one person seemed to be having password issues. There is a very small case of baked goods, which was mostly empty at early afternoon, just a few bagels and muffins. There was gelato, however, looked like good flavors and apparently made locally at Spruce Confections. This all sounds great, right, so why only 3 stars? The two most important things — service and coffee product. It took 8 minutes to get my drink and there were only 2 ahead of me. There was one barista and one cashier. The cashier was having difficulty. Yes, this is a brand new store, but you would think that a strong business like Amante would have put some of their well trained regulars there to get it off the ground. As for the drink itself, average at best. I only drink decaf espresso and some places just can’t get it «good.» I don’t know if it is the beans or the technique but it is often very weak, or sour or both. My regular place can make it strong and rich. The taste alone can boost you like caffeine. This decaf doppio espresso was strong enough, but definitely had a sour aftertaste. And the price– the most expensive I have had in Boulder. I will probably go back if I need to meet a friend in this part of town if the parking holds up. And I could try the gelato next time. But I doubt I would stop here on my own, just for the drink.
