I’ve been very happy with both the goods sold here and the customer service. I think they have some of the most current best maternity, nursing and baby gear. I would recommend this store to a friend who is expecting and looking for the best gear.

The shop owner and all of her associates are by far the sweetest, kindest most caring people to work with, and I say«work with» because that is what they do, they work with you, side-by-side for anything you possibly need becoming a mother. I first visited BM when I was in my third trimester to get fitted for nursing bras, have visited multiple times since the baby was born and now just walked in and rented a hospital grade pump on our way out of town, in a hurry, to the airport… I was in such disarray and they helped me in a hurry, yet they did it with such a sense of calm, ease and grace… they saw that my pump parts were a mess and in no order and took the time to go through all of my pump parts and made sure I knew what I was doing. I truly appreciate having Becoming Mothers as an incredible resource.

I find it odd that others are saying they’ve received good service here. My experience couldn’t have been further from that. I purchased my wife a birthing gown at Becoming Mothers. A couple weeks later our baby was born by emergency c section. Since the gown was never worn and had been purchased quite recently, I tried to return it(with receipt) so that we could put that money toward some other items we needed and would have bought from the store. The clerk refused to take the return at all, but said she would talk to the owner. The owner«generously» offered to return it with an absurd restocking fee(something like 50%). Edit: After posting this and sending the link through the contact form on the site I got a quick response offering to take back the birthing gown. Unfortunately, by that point I didn’t know where it was, so that wasn’t particularly useful. Maybe it will resurface at some point. So I’ll bump up the rating a bit, but not that much because it shouldn’t be necessary to go to those sorts of lengths to get a refund.

Buyer beware. They will not return an item with a receipt for cash/credit. They only return for store credit.

Yep, it’s expensive. But the salespeople were friendly and helpful. Some of these maternity clothes… it’s not obvious how they work. The salesperson was nice enough to dig up a diagram of how these yoga pants functioned. I got my one(and only) pair of maternity jeans here. $ 108, but I wear them all the time and they are really the only maternity jeans that work for me. The rest I’ve tried on are insanely uncomfortable and ugly to boot. They will give you 10% credit on a future shopping trip for every purchase. Since I don’t live in Denver, this is kind of useless for me. But something nice for the locals. If you are having trouble finding comfortable maternity clothes that look nice, check them out.

I was lucky enough to get $ 30 worth of «Mama Money» from my Bradley teacher for this little shop and decided to check it out yesterday. I checked out their website ahead of time just to get a heads up on the pricing. I went in the morning, and I was the only customer in the store. I was politely greeted by the nice lady behind the counter and she asked me if I needed any assistance. I told her that I was just looking, and she said to let her know if I needed anything(I like to browse by myself, so it was nice that she wasn’t pushy).
Their merchandise is mostly stuff for nursing moms, but they did have some cute maternity clothes, baby carriers, and body products as well. They have a large selection of nursing clothing(a little pricey, but most nursing clothes are pricey anyway, so it’s not the stores fault) and Medela breast-pumps and accessories(I didn’t check out the pricing on the pumps because I knew I only had $ 30 to spend). One of my favorite things they have there are these heart-shaped washable(code: re-usable, eco-friendly) nursing pads to stick in your bra called Bamboobies(because they are made out of Bamboo, too cute!). I had to choose between Bamboobies($ 30 for a 4 pack) and some Motherlove Nipple Cream($ 10 a jar)…I ended up getting 3 jars of the Motherlove because my sister-in-law swears I will need it. The nice lady rang me up, and I was surprised that I didn’t owe any tax(maybe it’s because I had«Mama money»…). This is a great little shop, especially for nursing mommies. It was clean, well organized, and the staff was friendly :) I also like that the selection wasn’t overwhelmingly huge… because it’s already overwhelming enough to be pregnant without having to choose between a bunch of stuff, haha. If I lived in Boulder I would definitely be a regular here!

The customer service in this store is unbeatable. The staff is always friendly and ready to help, and not only that — they are highly informed and knowledgeable about what they are selling, and why. Not to mention that the maternity garb sold in Becoming Mothers is tres chic — though I do my shopping on the sale rack(a little pricey for my taste, but not too bad for the gourmet clothes buyer). I’ve bought two nice pieces there that I wear often, and did I mention that I’ve never been pregnant? These clothes are made for preggos, but many of the blousey shirts and sweaters will be fashionable on any woman! On top of this, Becoming Mothers is a great community resource, and is becoming a hub for Boulder’s birth circle. The only thing that would make it better would be a classroom that functioned during store hours, both so that more classes could be offered and so that the store would get business from class-goers. Even so, they do their best by offering classes to parents before and after store hours. And one last note, the owner Stephanie Moore REALLY knows her stuff! Go to one of her *free* lactation classes sometime and you’ll know what I mean — easy to swallow information that is taught in a humorous way, on a subject that every new mom could use some tutoring in.
