Dr. Clayton Harper has been practicing in the Boulder community for three years (since 2008) and has recently opened Boulder Creek Implant & Oral Surgery Center in July of 2011. Dr. Harper completed his Biochemistry degree at UT Austin & his DDS from the UT Health Science Center, graduating both with Highest Honors. He received numerous honors and awards throughout his academic career. He then attended UT for medical school, attaining his MD in 2004. He completed his general surgery and anesthesiology requirements at University Hospital in San Antonio. He then received his certificate of specialty in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Harper trained at numerous hospitals throughout New York City. After 6-​year residency training interests lead him to a Dallas Texas based fellowship in Orthognathics & Joint Surgery. Dr. Harper contributes much of his free time traveling for humanitarian efforts & has worked in many third world countries including Western Africa, Haiti and Central & South America. He is currently a full-​scope private practitioner in Boulder, Colorado & on staff at Lutheran Hospital.

Dr. Harper is by far the best oral surgeon I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Upon meeting him he was extremely courteous and easy to talk to. While reviewing my X-​rays he was very thorough and easy to understand. He’s one of the few medical professionals that I’ve met that genuinely cared about my oral health and wellbeing.
Another big shout out to his staff as well, they work hard to make sure everything goes smoothly and it truly shows that they also enjoy working with the doctor as well.

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Harper and the staff at Boulder Creek Implant and Oral Surgery. I have never felt so well taken care of. Not only was the surgery painless but the post-​op care is above and beyond. I was feeling a little pain after having my wisdom teeth removed that was completely manageable but I was paranoid about complications, and they immediately made an appointment to see me. Everything is fine (better than fine) and they only treated me with compassion and understanding despite the fact I was being a bit of a baby. Many thanks to the amazing team.

My wisdom teeth was causing me some mild discomfort over the past two weeks and I went to Dr. Harper to have them extracted yesterday. The procedure was COMPLETELY painless and there is just a little bit of numbness and swelling on the outside of my face which is getting better too, and which I think is the least that one should expect in an extraction procedure. Dr. Harper also called up the night of my surgery to check on how I was doing and told me that I could call him anytime over the weekend/​after-​hours if I had any discomfort or even just had general questions.

The reason why I give this Practice a five star review is that Dr. Harper is one of the best doctors I’ve ever met in my entire life, I always had a phobia from Dentist’s tools and equipments and honestly Dr. Harper and his staff were great in making me feel comfortable by putting themselves in my shoes providing everything needed to insure the best service and an easy experience especially that I was referred to Dr. Harper to remove 5 of my wisdom teeth and I got to be honest I was so afraid to go for it. But Dr. Harper explained the operation to me and how it was all going to be easy and I wasn’t supposed to feel any pain at all. And really I didn’t feel any pain until I developed a dry socket in my bottom right wisdom teeth which was pretty painful and discomforting. Dr. Harper explained to me that it was possible to happen and if I have any pain and not soreness I have to let him know. And I didn’t know if it was pain or soreness until Dr. Harper texted me the end of the night asking about how was I feeling before I even call him and after I told Dr. Harper about my pain he instructed me on what should I do to help ease the pain for the night and rushed to book me as his first appointment in the early morning for the treatment and it made my life so much better to do that visit. Dr. Harper himself also called me after that which is tonight asking about how I was feeling. All I can say is Dr. Harper thank you for being an amazing Doctor. I never in my life had a Doctor that responds for text messages and phone calls that late. I’ll definitely refer every one that wants a wisdom tooth out or an oral surgery to give Dr. Harper a visit!

I am 2.5 hours post surgery. 2 wisdom teeth and a bridge removed. The entire procedure was virtually painless (except for the bill! haha). The office staff, the nursing staff, and Dr. Harper are A-​1 FIRST RATE. I have zero pain as my numbness wears off. I’m guessing that in an hour I’ll need a pain med, but it went so much better than I’d expected. I now have two very problematic teeth (for over 40 years) GONE GONE GONE and a new implant that will soon be fitted with a tooth to replace the one molar and bridge and I’m probably NOT going to need to replace the other removed molar.
I feel like the weight of the world is out of my mouth! Everyone was SO kind and so forthcoming with information. The facility itself is fabulous. Dr. Harper is so capable and learned and degreed! I felt that I was in great hands and feel so grateful to my dentist Dr. Skromme for recommending Dr. Harper for this process.
He even said he would call me tonight to see how I’m doing! WOW. I’m a happy camper. Thanks to everyone at the facility. You made a really terrified woman feel comfortable and safe.

A very pleasant experience! Dr. Harper is an outstanding surgeon and caring professional. My husband experienced no pain or discomfort following wisdom tooth extraction, and by Day 2 was back to his usual activities. Dr. Harper spent a lot of time with us prior to surgery to make sure we were informed and comfortable and has been thorough and attentive in follow up. The office staff and medical staff are caring and knowledgeable. The clinic itself is quiet, immaculate, and welcoming.

I just wanted to update my previous review. I’m so impressed with the level of service I got from Dr. Harper’s office. My initial extraction came with a hefty price tag (though that’s on my insurance, not Dr. Harper). But that price tag included many follow up appointments and I feel like I got a lot of value out of that initial investment. If you’re comparing prices, I’d keep in mind that you’re not going to be nickeled and dimed.

I couldn’t believe how well done was my wisdom tooth extraction. Got two pulled. They used just the right amount of anesthesia. And I literally had no pain in the days following. Didn’t need to use any of the percoset. An incredible experience. Had had one wisdom tooth pulled by a dentist 6 years ago and the experience was awful. Poorly extracted, tons of pain in the couple weeks after. This time was completely the opposite. And, Dr Harper called me at home the evening on the day of the surgery to check up on me. We had a good 10 minute conversation where he gave me additional pointers. So nice to get the personal touch like that from a doctor.

One of the best facilities I’ve had the pleasure to set foot in. Not that getting your teeth pulled during any point in your life is a heartwarming experience, it’s good to know that you can at least get it done in a place obviously put together by an architecture firm and a tech-​savvy crew.
All in all, highly recommended if you’re in the market for a wisdom tooth extraction in an ultra-​modern setting.
