Meet the Business Owner

Monica E.

Business Owner

Monica has been living, studying, working and raising her family in Boulder, CO since 1996. She graduated from Naropa University in 2000 with a BA in Early Childhood Education and Contemplative Psychology (Health/​Healing specialty). In 2007, she earned her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder. This four-​year program consisted of 3000 hours of education, including over 1000 hours of clinical practice.

Monica is certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique and Injection Therapy. Monica’s training includes herbal medicine, moxabustion, electro stimulation, tui na, shiatsu, auriculotherapy, cupping, and injection therapy.

I am so grateful that Monica has her acupuncture practice here in Boulder. Many years ago…20+ years actually, I discovered that acupuncture was something that could relieve my severe chronic pain. I have been to several acupuncturists in the Boulder area over the years – all were good – however Monica is beyond excellent.
She focuses at the beginning of each session on determining exactly what the patient needs – her diagnosis is detail-​oriented and flawless, because she is a keen observer and actually listens to her patients.
Once the needles are in, she leaves the patient to relax in a peaceful room comfortably listening to relaxing music.
When necessary, she utilizes other things such as moxa, Chinese Herbs, and other effective treatments.
It is such a gift to have an acupuncturist who really cares!
