Boulder Montessori School

There has been no other decision that had caused us as much consternation as deciding with whom to entrust the safety, well-​being, and nurturing of our 18 month old son. I cannot say enough GREAT things about BMS. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, caring and very educated. My child blossomed in ways I couldn’t have dreamed! He has come so far in education and emotional learning and I wish he could stay there forever! Now that he has moved on from the AMAZING toddlers program into preschool, it is clear that there is a caliber of guidance, caring, and concern that has been consistent between each of his classes. I also feel completely assured that my son’s food allergies are taken very seriously and treated with utmost care and compassion. A+ to BMS!

We found Boulder Montessori School after a troubling experience at an in-​home preschool. Our main objectives were to find a school for our three-​year-​old son where he would feel safe, be inspired to explore, and develop more social and emotional skills. We couldn’t have found a better place! The teachers are exceptionally well-​trained and consistent with the Montessori method, which encourages independence, problem solving, respect, and kindness. When our younger son was old enough (18 months) we enrolled him in the toddler room, which was absolutely amazing. Most of the teachers in the toddler room (and many in the school in general) have been there for YEARS. They have an institutional knowledge of the school and embody all that is wonderful about it (hint: if you’re interested in getting into toddlers, put your infant on the wait list now…).
Our younger son «graduated» to preschool this winter, and he, too, is thriving. Even though our kids have polar opposite personalities (one is an introvert, the other an extrovert), they both are inspired, motivated, and energized after their days at BMS.
My only wish is I could enroll for fewer days than 5/​week. I work part-​time and do not need a 5-​day/​week schedule. I love having a day or two home with the kids. But because my boys go to morning/​all-​day school, our only option at BMS is 5 days/​week. This might not be a problem for parents who work FT or who need more childcare than I do.
All told, I cannot recommend BMS enough. It’s a great community run by people who enrolled their kids there 30-​some years ago. It’s consistent with the Montessori method and an absolute joy.

We love Boulder Montessori School. Our daughter was at Patience Montessori prior to transferring to BMS when she turned 2.5. There is a stark difference in regards to dedication to the Montessori teaching method, longevity and experience of the teaching staff, and overall management of the school at BMS vs Patience. Most of the teachers have been at BMS for 6−7+ years, which provides a stable and nurturing environment. The management at Patience Montessori is so poor that teachers are lucky to stay past 6 months. Our daughter had over 6 teachers come and go during her time there, which led to an uncertain environment and many tearful drop offs for both her and I. In the few months our daughter has been at BMS we have seen such positive growth in her, she is truly thriving at the school and continues to tell us how much she enjoys going there. I would highly recommend this school!

I love this school! I have sent both of my sons there and the lessons (life and curriculum related) they have learned there have been OUTSTANDING. Not only do I have to drag my 4-​year old off the playground every afternoon, he is READING and doing multiplication!
There is a reason this school has been in the community for the past 30 years, they are hard-​working, committed professionals dedicated to the success of our childrean.
