History

Established in 1924.

We are one of the oldest Yellow Cab services in the US and Boulder’s oldest and largest taxicab company, completing approximately 200,000 passenger trips annually with a fleet of over 60 vehicles. Our taxi service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Over the years, we have been a pioneer in many areas including the first to implement Dispatch radio, GPS dispatch and other communications-​oriented technologies and the first to introduce «green» fueled vehicles with Toyota Prius Hybrids and propane-​powered Crown Victoria’s. We have been a committed partner to the City and County of Boulder in its growth and development, and are very proud to serve Boulder and the surrounding towns.

We also offer service to the disabled community and the elderly in partnership with city para-​transit services, Medicaid and other entities in the healthcare field.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are inconsiderate and rude. That’s all fine and good except that they do nothing to fix the problem THEY create! We had a flight to catch and booked a reservation to get to the airport in plenty of time to make the flight. They confirmed the reservation and then never showed up. When we called they said there was nothing they could do, they were rude and completely indifferent to the $ 300 problem they caused! What a terrible company. I hope Unber puts them out of business!
Too bad, because I was rooting for the cab companies. They deserve failure with kind of service.

At first I used this company, and was pleased. The last couple of times, the driver was 20 min late. So the following week I scheduled the cab so that I could arrive early for my doctor appointment. Giving myself an extra hour to arrive there. After an hour, still no one had showed up. I called the cab service several times, and the woman said she couldn’t find anyone yet. 5 minutes later a cab driver called me and said he could be at my place in 20minutes. I told him to forget it. Hence I was charged for my missed doctors appointment. I lost 40 bucks because of this place. Um no, that day wiped out whatever good experiences I previously had with them.

Dispatcher very rudely accused me of being rude. I don’t think I was, but it doesn’t matter: what business that deserves to stay in business employs people who behave so unprofessionally? I wasn’t rude, I explained it, but the dispatcher interrupted me and then hung up on me. So I called Über and got rapid no-​drama service.
Taxi companies need to get their shit together or face extinction.

I was pleasantly surprised– I called from Park n Ride to get a short lift up TableMesa Drive. The call was answered quickly and the cab arrived within 10 minutes, the driver was pleasant, what’s not to like?!

After reading the past reviews I had low expectations to be picked up by the Yellow Taxi Cab at 4:45 am. I called the night before to plan my ride with them. When I woke up I was already coming up with different plans. I received call from the driver when he was 8 – 10 minutes away. I received another call from the driver when he arrived. He was friendly and talkative. I was very pleased after such negative reviews.

I was in town for a short time. I made several trips from Lousville and Niwot for wedding functions during my stay. The wait was long at times. It good to call 30 mins or ahead of time. Majority of the staff didn’t dress professional but they all held good conversations if you were talking to them. Pretty much old screw neck tops and jeans. One time, my cab assumed they weren’t needed since they «pulled up» to my hotel but I was sitting outside the whole time. Another time, my call was ignored from the company but I had called two different cabs because one seemed to be taking so long which was in a different town and the other cab was in Boulder which we were going. Leno was available when I needed him and actually had a business card. Chris was a young yet friendly guy and dressed in a suit. *Ask for Leno and Chris. *

Avoid at all costs. Completely unreliable.
I almost missed my early morning flight at DIA because of them. Booked cab the night before. Called them at early am pick-​up time to find out where cab was and dispatch said the driver was «any second now». Being a bit late is no problem, that’s fine. I had to call them again 15 min later only to be told they were «late» and it could be an hour! Are you kidding? Being late and unreliable is one thing, but being misleading is absolutely unacceptable as it makes alternate planning so much harder. I was lucky to have someone else drive me.

In my experience there have been no problems. I have never been in a hurry or tight schedule when needing them (the reviews warned me) so it has been kind of chill going from my sisters house to the downtown pubs and eatery’s.
They managed reasonable times everytime during 7pm-​1am service times. If you get the right driver and just be cool with them and dont act like you poo dont stink and they are your servant… they just might be cool to you too.
For being a legal pot smoking area… you have a lot of uptight folks around Boulder.
If you have a tight schedule… call early. Do everything early. If you can get driver Jason in the evening do it he is cool… Righteous dude!

Unreliable and extremely unprofessional outfit. Their licensed should be pulled.
Scheduled a pick up 5 hours ahead of an appointment. Called 5 minutes after the scheduled pick up time and they indicated a taxi had not been dispatched and could not tell me when would be dispatched. Called again 30 minutes after the scheduled pick up and again they indicated a taxi had not been dispatched and again could not tell me when would be dispatched.
As a result missed my appointment.

I called and scheduled a taxi for 1:30 PM for a ride to DIA. Left myself plenty of time in case they were a little late. Called at 2:00 for an ETA, after 5 minutes on hold was told that he would be there in 5 minutes. I drove myself at 2:10. The driver called at 2:30 and said he would be there in 10 minutes.
Not again.

Do not use this taxi service. Unreliable. Was told a cab would be there for me in 20 minutes. Called back at 45 minutes and was then told I was being made a priority pick up due to my wait. 45 minutes later I’m still waiting. Time to find a better ride.

I would give this place negative stars if I could. Horrible, unreliable, rude and ridiculous. Avoid at all costs!
Recently I was in need of a cab and gave this place a call. I had the great displeasure of communicating solely with Kayla, first at 11:30pm («They’ll be there in 10»); then 25 minutes later («WHATEVER, they’re coming.»); then again at 12:10, only to be promptly put on hold as punishment for another ten minutes, after which I was told we’d be waiting another 20 minutes for our cab. This was not a crazy weekend night, either. Yet somehow it took more than an hour for a cab to get to us. Absurd.
Each time my polite inquiries were met with snide remarks, attitude, and passive aggressive responses. It was infuriating, insulting and totally unpleasant.
I’ve never written a negative Unilocal review, but the vindictiveness and rude responses I was met with at every turn were enough to make my blood boil.
Save your money for a Lyft or the bus. This place is a waste of time, money, and a poor excuse for a business. Never again.

I booked a cab a couple hours in advance to arrive at 2:55 am to take me to the bus for DIA. I got a text at 2:58 am saying that the cab had been dispatched, three minutes after it was supposed to show up. I have screenshots to prove this. Then I got a call and the driver was downtown and it took him at least 10 mins to drive up there, so all in all they picked me up about 15 minutes late. When it comes to catching a bus, this is a fail.

Horrible… Booked a pickup so I could make it to the bus stop for the DIA shuttle. Not only did they not make the pickup time, they also failed to show up even after I called to see where my car was.
I will never use their business again. Luckily I got up early enough to call a different shuttle service.

So really I’m the idiot here. I needed a cab, I checked Unilocal,I noticed the chances of one actually arriving were poor, but there were really no other options so I pre-​ordered one anyway, 2 hours in advance. I needed to be on time so I had them come a bit early. 5 minutes before the arrival time, the cab called and said he would be 45 minutes late. So I walked, then hitched a ride, and was late anyway. Be honest about the availability of your cabs because that is the crux of your business. People rely on this service.
