History

Established in 2008.

I had a passion for jewelry since I was a small child. I loved going through my grandmother’s bureau on a New England rainy day, and taking each piece of jewelry out of its special box, examining every single piece, and placing it precisely back, again and again.

I started making jewelry at Pierce’s Art Store on Main Street next to the Courthouse in Northampton MA in 1972, teaching people how to make earrings and necklaces with the beautiful beads we had. One day I mentioned to someone that I would love to learn more about the process of making jewelry. A woman walked up to me and offered me an apprenticeship with her, fabricating cloisonné jewelry for the Boston Museum of Fine Art. The first piece I ever made was a moon and a star pendant in copper and sterling silver.

When I arrived in Boulder Colorado in 1975, I was immediately hired as an apprentice, and a cast line polisher, for a jewelry store on Pearl Street. I worked there for nearly 4 years, learning all the aspects of
