Envision Boulder

Super helpful employees who are both very efficient and very kind. I needed a pair of emergency glasses while I was in traveling Boulder and they went above and beyond to make sure I got them.

Update: I have had several weeks-​months now to wear the sunglasses I purchased at Envision, & must say, they are of the highest quality. I get compliments regularly, which is rare, considering they are sunglasses. The lenses actually cover my eyes in a way that prevents & controls migraines!!! ‘Hooray! They are lightweight & fashionable with any outfit: ‘be it workout/​yoga, elegant/​night out, or just grocery shopping.
I must give props to the manufacturer & retailer of these glasses, one of which includes Envision. I’m pleased that they were on sale, & indeed, ended up as ultimately a great investment. Due to that, I added a star & update to my rating. Thank goodness for realistic sales (*even in very high end stores) for those of us willing to peruse the available, discounted stock, enabling the consumer to find a gem such as these. They were truly a reward for the work put in, & I now have a bit higher impression of Envision.
I will pass their name & location along to anyone inquiring about where I purchased my lovely sunglasses. ‘Still overly pricey in the majority of instances, & I still shudder when I remember the elderly man instructed to sign on a line which he didn’t fully seem to grasp the meaning of, but it just wasn’t my place to intervene. I’m happy to at least now personally be an owner of their merchandise; with the ability to attest to the fact that the product I purchased was of very high quality. (‘Whew). :)

I visited Dr. Jeff Smith for a check-​up, and was impressed by the entire spectrum (ar ar vision humour starts now) of care! From setting the appointment… to checking in for my appointment… to the actual visit with Dr. Smith… my visit was excellent.
The equipment is high-​tech and the sterile environment instills confidence from the start. The technician was very friendly, explaining the purpose of each vision test.
Once Dr. Smith arrived for my exam, he was very thorough in reviewing all of the notes in my file. Plus, he’s just super personable (and I might mention attractive and easy on the eyes, ar ar again)…so that is a huge bonus! He’s above-​all totally professional so I can see why so many locals entrust him with their eye care.
The store selection is fantastic. I was almost sad that I did not need glasses because they carry a gorgeous selection of what appears to be highly curated selection of eye ware… Armani, Maui Jim, Gucci, Chanel, Huveli Milano, Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith… it’s EYE CANDY for certain!

I dropped $ 700 on a pair of glasses which is completely absurd and outrageous. Kid in China made those for a nickel.
Truth is. I would do it again because they have the best frames and lens hookup in Boulder.
I would not return to the eye doctor here because it was something like $ 200 for an assistant to issue a prescription. That’s just shameful robbery.

The people who work at this place are miserable! I bought a pair of eyeglasses as a surprise for my husband and made sure they knew not to call him. They ruined the surprise by calling him and telling him and then refused to take responsibility for it. Then threatened to send me to jail if I refused to pay them. Just really awful people skills and way way higher prices than college optical.

I was on vacation in Boulder and forgot an extra set of contacts (duh!). When I called Envision asking if they’d be able to help me out (after receiving my prescription of course!) they were more than happy to! A quick call to have my prescription faxed, they ran back to get me samples and I was on my way. They were extremely nice and willing to help. If I move to Boulder they are definitely going to be my #1 choice!

Envision was so wonderful! My husband woke up in the middle of the night last night with unexplainable excruciating pain in his right eye. I called right when they opened at 8am and explained the situation. Even though there were no appointments available, they told us to come right in and they’d find room for him. We headed straight there and found out the had somehow got an abrasion on his eye. Fortunately, it was nothing serious (just extremely painful) but it was truly wonderful to have them fit us in and figure out the problem. The dr (Vicky?) was kind and professional and we will definitely be back here for out future eye needs.

You guys are amazing!!! I never take the time to write a Unilocal review but I am so impressed with this place I am making time. I have been going to see Dr. Smith since I was eight. Got pink eye and had to get rid of my contacts, realized I did not have an extra pair, called panicked, and they sent me a free pair, over nighted at ZERO charge. Were so nice about it, didn’t seem like a burden, just did it and were helpful. I no longer have vision insurance but I will fork out an arm and leg to come here. This place is the definition of great customer service!

They have a small selection but it’s well edited with all the names and styles I was looking to try on. I ended up happy with a great pair of Oliver Peoples that they confirmed would work well with my prescription and face before handing them over, thanks guys! After wearing reading glasses for the last 10 years, they also gave me some great new tips about how to keep glasses at their best. Would recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Israelson is awesome! Love the thorough friendly staff, all those eye machines they invest in make me feel completely checked every year, I recommend these folks to everyone! Be sure to chat up the lovely women out front in the eye frames, these women KNOW your face shape and what fits best, trust them, they have found my last three pairs of constantly complimented eye wear!!!

Everyone here is so nice and professional. I’ve been with them since 2010 and I travel from Green Valley ranch just to go see them. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

This is a one stop shop for your eye appointment and frames. Dr. Isrealson was extremely thorough when doing my eye exam and even went the extra step to take a second round of pictures on the retina machine because she saw something funny. She truly cared about my eye health! I then was turned over to Eliot who helped me pick out frames. They have a GREAT selection of all designer frames at really reasonable prices. Eliot helped me narrow down the selection to the most perfect pair of Chanel eye glasses. I would definitely recommend Envision Boulder!

A really exotic, exciting assortment of frames exist here. It’s the best option in Boulder for fashion eye wear. The doctors are also lovely and your eye exam here is thorough and comfortable.

I did not go to any of the optometrists which seem to be highly rated on Unilocal,but I did walk into the store looking for a new pair of glasses since I recently had my eyes examined elsewhere. I walked around looking at glasses and was not greeted for about five minutes because the staff preferred to talk amongst themselves, joking around, complaining and just ignoring a potential customer. When I was finally acknowledged, I was asked, «hi, are you just looking?»
Whaaaa?
I wasn’t «just looking» — I want a new pair of glasses, but not with THAT attitude! Granted the prices are higher, but not out of line for designer/​European frames, so what is up with the snottiness and unfriendly vibe? With the other optical shop options in town (and out of town) I don’t envision myself buying anything from this shop any time soon!

I highly recommend Dr. Smith. He cares about your eyes as much as you as a person. Beautiful office and they validate parking!

I gone to Dr. Smith for a few years. He and the rest of the staff have always been friendly, efficient and professional.
I have gotten glasses there, but the frames tend to be out of my price range.
I’ll continue to go to Dr. Smith and buy their eyewear when they are having a sale.

I’ve been going to Envision for longer than its been called «Envision». Dr. Graham has taken great care of my eyes over the years. I’ve been badly nearsighted forever; so went through much of life depending on glasses to see past my nose. Seriously. She helped me deal with contacts, and kept me up to date with new technology over the years, as contacts became cheaper, more comfortable, and easier to deal with. Eventually, we discussed Lasik, and she helped me decide upon a Lasik provider. I had my eyes «done» late on June a number of years ago. The next day, I could drive and see without needing glasses (well except for reading…).
Everyone at the office is super friendly and helpful. I feel like my vision is in their hands, and I’m very cool with this. You can maybe find cheaper eye care; but you only have two eyes. I look forward to my annual exam like it’s a visit with good friends.

Never have I had so many little gizmos used to check out my eyes! I had the surface of my eyes mapped, pictures taken of my retinas, eye pressure measured, and my fortune told (ok, I really don’t know what the rest of the machines did, but wouldn’t that be cool if they did tell your future?).
I was a bit late but the staff was very kind and efficient at getting my file updated and prepped to see the Doc.
I never like going to the eye doctor because 1) I was blind as a bat, and 2) my eye doctor had appallingly bad breath. Not a good attribute for a doctor that spends so much time in your face going «one or two?»
Trips to the eye doctor are better these days because I am no longer blind (go lasik!) and my doctor did not have bad breath. Hurrah!
