Free People

I absolutely love this store — one of my favorite boutiques in Boulder. I like going in and looking around without being hassled or pressured to purchase. The clothes are super cute and stylish for all ages!

This is one of the stores/​brands that fall on my «I wish» list. I love, and have for many years, a lot of the looks, whatever the style of the year is. Until recently when they introduced some items in polyester (which I cannot wear) to their line, I loved the all natural fabrics that they used. They still do have many of cotton and rayon that feel good to me. But here’s the issue. They do not make petites, and even if they did, their styles tend to be quite long. I am extremely short. It rarely works. Very occasionally it does and usually turns out to be something I wear for ages. And their goods are pretty pricey. But I figure, it never hurts to look.

This is easily my favorite store to buy clothes. Although it is definitely pricey, I can always count on FP to have something unique and chic that I feel great wearing. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The only downside to this FP location is that it is pretty small.
Like I mentioned, I can always count on FP items to make a great outfit. Some of the items I have purchased have stretched out over time (despite washing them as directed) and on others it has been my mistake to not hand wash (be careful of this)! Other than that, I love coming to the store because I can always find something cute to purchase and everyone in the store is super friendly and accommodating.

I love Free People. It’s fun to shop at the Free People store on Pearl. They are always getting in new items. The staff is friendly and honest (which I appreciate). Each time I go to Pearl St. I can’t help but check out the Free People store.

This is my favorite store in Boulder. I love Free Peole threads and their versatility. I buy many pieces at Free People that I can wear to work, on a date, or just hanging out. I get NUMEROUS compliments each time I wear a Free People item. Their style is unique without being too risqué or obnoxious. I think that people may bash this store because they may not have the creativity or confidence to create and rock a Free People outfit. The thing that stands out to me with Free People clothing is that it does not look the same on everyone and it can be accessorized, layered, and styled into a million different looks.
The staff at the Boulder store are very outgoing and helpful!
Anthropologie just looks like stuff my mom wears, sorry ladies!

This is a fun store to browse, and for me daydream. Day dream I could fit and daydream I could afford. The sales racks are where I make my purchases. The shop is cute and clean. The displays are nice. The staff is always helpful and nice to chat with. It’s pretty small though, I wish there was more to look at. The catalog is so big it’s surprising that the store is so small.

2012 Review #285: in high school, when urban outfitters was not where cool people shopped, I liked it. Then I found Anthropolgie a year later and coveted the few items I received as gifts from that store. But one store in this family I cannot get behind is Free People.
See, Urban Outfitters makes it known, I think, that the clothes are not the best quality but are overpriced. Anthro makes it known that the clothes are of good quality and are overpriced but within designer terms. Free People appears to be even more designer than Anthro, but is in fact just a very small store of very cheap clothing, sold at a markup so high, American Apparel makes fun of them.
I also find the clothes to be extremely ugly. Thermals you’d wear cross country skiing are mixed with Native American prints you’d find at a «Colorado Store» on the 16^th street mall. Before you grab your keys and head out to grab one– they’re $ 65. I saw a cool-​looking leather jacket but realized it was in fact nylon and $ 170. I’d rather just buy an $ 8 poncho from Rite Aid if we’re gonna buy man-​made clothing that a fruit fly will outlive.
I also found some actually cool studded converse for $ 225 (I skipped since I can just buy a bedazzler). Probably the highlight, though, was a dress on sale for a mere $ 100, made of see-​through cotton, with a cutout portion specifically designed to show what they would call «the midriff» but I would call «the muffin top region on anyone with a BMI above 5». Thanks, but no thanks, Free People.
