Glacier Homemade Ice Cream

Stopped by for a snack. Ordered a cup of vanilla bean gelato. The flavor was good. Had a small issue, the owner was very helpful and responsive in handling it. I definitely will go back when I am in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite ice cream place! I especially love the gelato and the chocolate ice cream – hands down best chocolate ice cream I’ve had.
I think they may have changed their death by chocolate recipe since the last time I went here though, and I liked it more before…
BUT there are plenty of good flavors and I love the atmosphere!

We hired Glacier for our company picnic and they were awesome! Specifically, we hired them for their Deluxe Sundae Bar catering option. Our picnic was held in a public park in Longmont and they came to the park, set everything up (AND supplied everything they needed! table, utensils, napkins, etc.), served up the ice cream/​toppings and kept everything cold (despite mid-​September heat… in a park!). The ice cream was delicious, the toppings were fantastic and the guy serving (Alex) was friendly, personable and a pleasure to work with. Everyone at our picnic raved about the quality and we had zero complaints. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Also noteworthy is the simplistic engagement process. I worked with Daniel and it was easy and quite refreshing (I was the project lead on securing all food/​drink and associate permits so LOTS of back-​and-​forth, in general). Daniel was professional, responded in a timely fashion and was totally transparent throughout the process.
I would DEFINITELY recommend Glacier! We hope to make our company picnic an annual thing so I will be contacting them again next year for sure. :) Thank you, Daniel and Alex for the superb experience!

I have pretty strong opinions on ice cream. It all matters: the flavor, the consistency, even the temperature! Glacier hit them all on the spot. The ice cream was creamy but still cold so it didn’t melt immediate. They have a large selection of flavors. We enjoyed the mint oreo (which brought my back to my childhood) and the chocolate cookie dough. Their serving size is generous, the kiddie size was big enough for me. I guess it’s probably a good thing this place is a 40 minute drive from my house!

I recently re-​visited this location as my partner received a voucher for a free ice-​cream on his birthday (yes folks, make this your bday reality as well by signing up for their newsletter).
Though their was a family with children ahead of trying what it seemed like every flavor before ordering the staff divided and conquered which made us feel welcome and taken care of. I must say that although the number of flavors was a little overwhelming at first (I do want to mention here that they have both gelato and ice-​cream) it was for the most party extremely exciting (I also noted on their chalkboard that they have other flavors available/​listed that are housed somewhere other than the coolers we saw in the front of the store).
I look forward to coming back soon to not only take my tastebuds on a further ice-​cream adventure but also to support this great local business.

Glacier catered our wedding at Winter Park Resort this summer and they were amazing! They got to the top of the ski mountain and had everything set up with perfect timing without any glitches. Our guests loved all the different flavors of ice cream. We would definitely recommend Glacier as a delicious and stress-​free dessert option for a wedding or any event.

The homemade waffles cones were amazing, the decorations were adorable, the ice cream was amazing. The best I’ve ever had. The service was amazing also. 10s across the board: D

Husband and I went there before hitting up the planetarium for show. Lots of great selection of flavors and the perfect treat on a hot summer night! Loved to supporting a local Boulder biz!

The ice cream and gelato choices are phenomenal! Everything I’ve tried is always fresh and delicious. There are a variety of unusual flavors. It cost $ 4.15 for a regular cup with 2 scoops (up to 2 flavors).

I have a coffee caramel crunch addiction. No matter which flavors I deviate with, I always return to the flawless choice. They nail it — from the intensity of the coffee flavor in the ice cream base, to the balance of oreos and caramel. They know what they’re doing!
They have a 3 for $ 11 pint deal, which is our favorite way to kick off a week. The deal applies to prepacked pints (though, they will gladly handpack one of the three on the spot). It cost less than $ 1 more than snagging 2 pints… so it’s not a bad deal in the end.
Their hot fudge is killer. They offer free refills on the hot fudge, which is peculiar — I am still waiting to see someone take them up on the offer. But maybe it’s the thought that counts. Ahaha.
While there’s not a lot of seating, I have always been a fan of eating ice cream on a warm night while leaning on the hood of a car. Really, with Glacier in my hand, all is right in the world.
The staff is always fantastic and cheerful — which makes the experience even better. They are all on top of the game, which is much appreciated.
I highly recommend Glacier, and always try to drag my out-​of-​town guests to this location for a taste.

Wow. Not sure it’s the best in America as it claims but it’s pretty spectacular. Get the mango if you can.

Amazing ice cream! Boyfriend got the Flan ice cream and I got the Coffee Caramel Crunch. Both were spectacular!!!

All in all their ice cream is delicious. The passionfruit gelato tastes exactly like passionfruit mochi, which if you haven’t had yet, you are missin out on an amazing treat.

Alas, poor Peanut Allergy sufferers, you should not enter here! I did not see a display of stuff to sprinkle on your ice cream (although one of my group did get sprinkles) but there is definitely ice cream with peanuts in the cases.
Clean, neat, not crowded, lots of on-​the-​ball employees, parking was pretty easy. Stuff was labeled. I like labeled stuff. There was even a water cooler available. Indoor and outdoor seating, but there were no umbrellas outside (in September) so it would have been a very hot seat. Prices were a bit up there, but that seems to be par for the course for ice cream these days.
There were FIVE CASES of ice cream, one of which was triple loaded with a huge variety of gelato and sorbet. I am not going to say that this is extreme, but it just doesn’t make choosing any easier. If you check out the options on the web site, it gets ridiculous the way you keep scrolling down, but apparently they rotate flavors.
On top of that, there were a lot of size options, and even some special super tiny sizes just for kids under 5. There is a size smaller than ‘small,’ so pay attention! Next time I’m going to try to get two flavors of the really tiny sizes just to see if they’ll let me. Why shouldn’t I be able to get two flavors at once without being overwhelmed by the amount they give me for one?
Oh, and then there were sugar and waffle cones, with ‘dipped in chocolate’ options, and paper cups for those like me who always manage to get dripped on.

I have never been to this Glacier location before but I have had Glacier ice cream at several other locations, including two other company stores, since it started. When they were making it fresh on the premises at the Hill location in the 90’s, it was really pretty good. Now Glacier is pretty standard commercial ice cream and the Hill store does not exist. Not so special anymore. It is still a good quality compared to much in the supermarkets but the specialty competition in Boulder is so much stronger now.
This location was clean and the server friendly. Parking is easy here but the inside seating area is pretty small and it can easily be too hot or too cold for the outside sidewalk seating.

I’m a fan of the butter pecan and cookies and cream.
I would say its one of the best ice cream chains in time.

Glacier is the best ice cream I have ever had in life. Funky Donkey is my favorite. Do the 3 pints for 11 bucks. You get to pick any flavor for the 3^rd pint and pick the other 2 from the case. Awesome deal.

In our house, «It’s HOT outside» is secret code for «Let’s Get Glacier!». .
And while I almost never get anything but the buttered pecan (it is SERIOUSLY buttery and creamy, with a slight saltiness about it), this lucky girl never goes to Glacier without at least one of the boys in her life. They never fail to get a different flavor, so I have tried a bunch: Birthday Cake, Death by Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, Toffee something-​or-​other. All delicious, all made with sugar (no corn syrup here!), and the creamiest of cream.
I’ll agree with others here… the portions are big. The Kid’s cone is enough to satisfy the ice cream cravings but not so much that it will damage your waistline.
Get thee to Glacier!

Best ice cream I have had in my life… And I’ve had a lot of ice cream! Staff was very friendly and it was clean.
Try the waffle cone and the Death by Chocolate ice cream– salted caramel and peanut butter were also great. Worth every calorie!!!

When looking up places to go in Boulder for ice cream, this place was the winner. I glad it was! We loved the choices between gelato and homemade ice cream. The place smelled amazing due to the baking of waffle cones right in front of us! They offer samples without hesitation and will work with you to get the perfect flavors. I am so glad I went and if on Boulder again, I will be back!
