Magnus Anderson Hardwood Floors

They are popular so plan accordingly. I would definitely work with Magnus Anderson/​Boulder again and here’s why: Eric, the scheduler, is very communicative, responsive and enthusiastic about the whole process and the result and Bob the owner really has leadership and ownership operating at the helm of the job. Kathy emails the administrative details timely, accurately, and pleasantly. The crew that installed were on time and took care of business. The crew that sanded and stained were on time and also skillful; I popped by and they greeted me and explained what stage in their work process they were and it was looking good. When I had any questions, Eric got me answers that exceeded my expectations. I bought the wood from ReSource, gave away what I thought I wouldn’t be needing, mistakenly left my place without enough wood to finish the job, and Eric got compatible wood and drove it to my house so that the floor could be finished. It was my heart’s desire was to have Monocoat aqua-​colored stain and Magnus Anderson crew applied it for me. I LOVE my floor! Thanks, Magnus Anderson/​Boulder crew!

We had Magnus Anderson refinish our wood floors in our kitchen, dining room, living room, front entryway, and stair landing. From start to finish everything was superb.
They accommodated our schedule needs, finished the job in a timely manner, and have been thoroughly professional. Their staff were very friendly as well and answered all of our questions about the process and helped us decide what to do about some damaged areas.
There was one very small area that needed some touch-​up at the end, and that is being taken care of this week. The floors look fantastic !

This company did some work for me in another house we lived in. I wanted to replace carpet with oak hardwood in a main living area and hallway. The front man Eric is smooth, the workers were pleasant but we ran into trouble after the job was close to being done. The final finish in the hall way did not match the satin sheen elsewhere. They came back and put on a high gloss… ah no… I don’t think so… back they came and finally got it right along with some other details. But, it took while …
Workers come and go in this field and you never know who you are going to get in your home even after reading reviews. I now use smaller company’s who do their own work, and I use word of mouth

Magnus Anderson did the floors at our office and did a great job. They were on time and very respectful working with the other subs.

They did put in a good effort to fix the damage done in my home. Not only did they replace the right door on our fridge, buff out the scratches on the left, repair the damaged walls and adjust our bill (we had planned to pay for several boards to be replaced, and we were also reimbursed for paint and the stained hand towel) but had a plan to avoid this happening in the future. They retrained staff and will be hiring professional appliance movers for the larger appliances/​smaller spaces. While I wish the damage hadn’t happened in the first place (they did have to come back a few times while I was recovering from surgery), the follow up did show that they were willing to make up for the mistakes and had a plan to prevent them in the future. They gave us an extra 10% off for our troubles (we are still struggling to find an exact paint and texture match for one of the damaged walls that may just need to be completely retextured/​repainted).

Absolute masters of wood floor installation/​refinishing and professionals in every respect. They came highly recommended by several of our neighbors and they did not disappoint! Prices were reasonable and the dust-​free process, a huge plus! Thank you Bob, Eric, Jessie, Cody, Robert and the entire team who worked so efficiently on our floors. We are very happy customers!

Magnus Anderson provides professional, thoughtful and kind customer service as well as the highest quality of craftsmanship and skill. We used them to install new floors in a very old home, the old house challenges were met with great problem-​solving skills and the new floor fits our home perfectly! They were a delight to work with!
They had to lay flooring over differing levels of base flooring and did so with craftsmanship and skill. The continuous floors from front door to back, thorough the hall, living room and kitchen have really added elegance to our home.
Bob and Eric were happy to mix custom colors for us to choose from. We have a beautiful rich color. When there have been any issues, someone has promptly come over to see what can be done to correct things.
I am entirely happy with the job they did and would recommend them to friends. (and have done so happily!)

I had Magnus Anderson refinish my hardwood floors and also install hardwood floors in my family room. They were able to exactly match the flooring so you can’t tell where the old floor ends and the new floor begins. Bob did a fantastic job of explaining everything and taking care of my kitchen and family room. They moved all my furniture from the family room and then back. They did a fantastic job and even put in a piece to help with the transition to my laundry room that I needed at not extra cost.

Our home recently went through a major renovation and Bob and his crew did a wonderful job with our new floors. Bob offered up some good pieces of information to help us decide both the flooring wood type as well as the stain color. His crew even provided 6 different stain samples on our floor in order to help us make the correct choice. In the end, we selected the white oak w/​nutmeg stain and we could not be happier.
As we were living in the basement during the renovation, we especially appreciate the cleanliness and courtesy of the crew.

I would leave zero stars if I could. I’m not trying to be dramatic– DO NOT CALL USE THESE PEOPLE. OH that I could have a redo.
For starters, Eric (the salesman) is very nice. He seemed to know what he was talking about and listened well. Here is what I wanted done: My kitchen floor, entry way, and matching hardwood window seat refinished, multiple destroyed boards replaced, a new threshold built between kitchen and living room, and everything stained a nice dark brown «Espresso”-type finish. He assured me that this would not be a problem. I told him we would be removing the baseboards and replacing them after the job was completed (baseboards were nasty and beat-​up).
I called Eric and Bob three days before work was to begin to ask if they could do anything about the squeakiness of the floors, just add that to my quote or something. I never heard back.
I have 6 people in my family. We booked a hotel (very expensive for 6 people, since it was the largest room they had and only rarely unreserved). We moved everything out of the kitchen and just ate out the night before. Work was to begin at 9am. Bob (the OWNER OF THE COMPANY), called at 8 am and asked if he could begin work the next day, or maybe the next week because he had someone call out sick. I said that I was sorry but no– we had the kitchen torn apart, hotels booked, etc. He was very rude about it but agreed that he would start at noon. He didn’t show up until almost two with no phone call and no apology. He came into my house in a rush, very rude, just running about shoving stuff here and there, almost running me over in his hurry. He asked me what color I wanted– I reminded him that I had asked for espresso. He said they didn’t have a color like that. I hated all four colors he showed me, but didn’t know what to do. He finally decided that he could mix one color with some black and that would do it. I reluctantly agreed (I’m not very good at standing up to bullies, and he is definitely a bully). When my husband and I came home the next day we were appalled at the horrible workmanship.
Here’s the list:
— NONE of the boards had been replaced in any of the three areas we had work performed.
— Stain all over my walls, laminate flooring, BRAND NEW KITCHEN CABINETS (note: we were planning on removing the laminate for carpet, but giving it away as it was still good)
— Sealant running down my walls under the window seat
— the new threshold boards were not cut to the same size as the other boards, preventing baseboard from fitting back into the space (most of the time, baseboard sits on top of the hardwood, but in our house it did not.)
— multiple places on the landing and the window seat that were not sanded or stained.
— the window seat was rough, like it hadn’t been given a finish sanding.
— several spots in the kitchen where the original clear-​coat had not been removed, so the old floor color was still visible as the new stain wouldn’t stick to clear-​coat.
My husband called Bob and he was EXTREMELY rude and kept making excuses for everything. Elliot asked him to just come to the house and discuss what would be done there. When he got to our house he was super angry, defensive, and RUDE.
–He didn’t fix ANYTHING.
— He said it was my fault that they hadn’t replaced the boards in any of the areas because I didn’t tell him they were supposed to. (That’s what a work order is for!?)
— He said it was Eric’s fault that the window seat wasn’t finished properly because they don’t have the right tools to do the window seat so Eric shouldn’t have sold it in the first place.
— He said that Elliot obviously didn’t know anything about home building because baseboards go on top of hardwood floors. Elliot said yeah, maybe in most houses but not ours!
— He said it wasn’t their fault that stain had gotten on our cabinets because they taped them off.
— When Elliot brought up the missing stain in all three areas and the stain coating our walls and laminate flooring, Bob had the audacity to tell Elliot that «I just don’t feel like you appreciate the hard work I did for you! This floor looks a lot better now than it did!».
He said he would take off the cost of the entire window seat and all of the not-​placed boards… When I got my final bill he had taken off $ 65… off of over $ 1000.
YES, it looks better, however that doesn’t mean we need to «appreciate the job he did». Magnus Anderson/​Bob did a crappy, rushed, half-​butted job and didn’t care enough to fix it, or even apologize. Great company. *sarcasm*

My husband and I wanted to remodel our kitchen and we decided to refinish the wood floors throughout the upstairs while we were at it. Eric was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about hardwood flooring and was very patient with us as we looked at several different estimates. We even had a few different areas that needed patch work. The work they did looks seamless to the rest of the floors. They were flexible based on our ever-​changing contract work and I would not think of going any where else when we start our next flooring project.
