History

Established in 1997.

Dirk McCuistion CMT/​NMT started Mas​sage​spe​cial​ists​.com in Boulder, Colorado after realizing that even in Boulder one of the Mecca’s for massage and bodywork in the United states it was still hard to find good massage consistently when you need it. The most difficult thing about interacting with massage therapy at the time was scheduling an appointment. Masasge Therapy was dominated by solo practioners. Always being busy with clients it was hard for individuals to reach there therapist on the phone. McCuistion set out to change this paridigm in the field by creating Mas​sage​Spe​cial​ists​.com. A highly visible clinic open 7 days a week 9am to 9pm. With a seperate reception desk to schedule 13 hours a day. McCuistion also developed the first real time on-​line shceduling system for service based business (in 1997) this software is still in use today. The concept was «you never really know when you are going to need a massage» Sprains and strains are generally not planned events.

Dirk is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Neuromuscular Therapist. He graduated from BCMT in 1995 with over 1100 hours of training in manual therapy. He has assisted classes in and Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Anatomy at San Diego State University. Dirk is an insured professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association. As Director of the MassageSpecialists Wellness Center, Dirk’s goal for every client is to integrate the body for optimum function and maximum performance. Through Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and deep tissue Swedish Massage, Dirk can relieve effects of stress, chronic pain, headaches, repetitive motion syndromes and tendonitis. As a former Silver medalist in the U.S. National Cycling Championships, he is particularly sensitive to the needs of athletes. In fact, Dirk assisted professional triathletes in the preparation for Ironman triathlon wins in the past 6 years.
