History

Established in 1983.

SNC opened the Main Course for home cooks in 1983 and professional curriculum in 1991. In 2005 the curriculum expanded offering energetic nutrition, wine paring, and a protein focus course. Our teachers have utilized the language of cooking in their culinary professions.

Julianaa S.

Business Owner

Julianaa Satie, formerly Joanne Saltzman, is the founder, director and creative force behind the Natural Cook’s Studio Arts, Co. Julianaa is also the author of 3 cookbooks, Amazing Grains, Romancing the Bean and Intuitive cooking. After integrating the first part of her life as a professional dancer and choreographer, her strong sense of creativity allowed her to ‘choreograph’ the vision for the school and to formulate a way to teach what all great cooks do when they work without a recipe. The language of cooking; a limitless, soulful way for chefs to cook and communicate without relying on the traditional recipe format has been the foundation of The Natural Cook’s ® core curriculum since 1983. Julianaa experienced, as a mother of four strong children, that food not only has to be nourishing and delicious, but cost and time efficient. From this, the essence of the School was born.
