Today myself and a friend had lunch at Span-ish. Our first visit. We both had the special which was scallops on a bed of risotto with pesto. Wow! the best meal I have had in a long time. The chef/owner came out to explain the specials to us before we ordered. The portion was huge, as were the scallops. The price was $ 25, extremely reasonable considering the quality and size of the serving. This was freshly made by the chef and cooked to perfection. This was our first time there, even though both of us live on the Hill and walked to the café. We agreed that we would definitely return very soon with our respective spouses. I hope that the café does well. However, given the student population that frequents this area, it needs to be discovered by people who tend more toward this quality of dining. The café would benefit from more exposure. The café could benefit from better lighting and a bit more heat. Very relaxed atmosphere. Large tables, comfortable seating and plenty of space between the diners lending to easy conversation. Try this café once and you will definitely want to return soon to sample more of the menu.

Looking for a new GREAT restaurant? This is it! Ate there last night for the first time. Everything was unique and amazing including the service. Better than OAK or Mateo my two Boulder favorites. I will be going back.

Absolutely fantastic. Although I was initially skeptical of the New American/Spanish/Italian label on their window, that skepticism was immediately banished as we inhaled the fried brussels. I’m not always a fan of brussels but these were nothing short of addicting with the apple vinaigrette reduction(or whatever that unholy combination was). I ordered the chicken marsala and was thoroughly impressed. Even after I finished the entire plate and loosened my belt a bit(portions are more than adequate, I’m just a large man and tuck away quite a bit of food), I felt like the menu was begging me to order more. Luckily, my girlfriend ordered the carbonara and had a small amount left over. She spent 6 months abroad in Italy a couple years back, and told the owner(Ado, who came out to talk to us) that this particular carbonara was so delicious it opened up a floodgate of memories from Italy. We will be back to try brunch. And to retry dinner. And then to retry both several times again. Heck, I might even drive from Longmont to try lunch someday.

Adu has brought creativity to Boulder. Everything on the menu looks incredible and they offer breakfast lunch and dinner. My husband loved his crab cake Benedict and my Power Greens Omelet and plantains were fantastic. We’re always looking for a new breakfast place and the fact that the other menus are so varied means we’ll definitely be back.

After waiting about 15 mins without being served, I left the restaurant… I’ll never come back again.

Had lunch here twice now. The first time I had papusas and eggs. It was wonderful. The sauce was amazing. The second time I had chilaquilles. For me it’s always a good sign when I don’t have to add any condiments. The dish looks simple but underneath the eggs and chips is an amazing sauce that prompted me to write this review. They have an extensive menu and the prices are reasonable. I’ll be back

Fantastic food. If you are on the Hill and looking for something considerably up from the norm, with a visitor or a client, check it out. I just had a dish with fried chicken, garlic mashed potatoes with perfect asparagus, some lardons for chew and contrast and a rockin sauce. Great service, Great place trying to make it in the Hill.

Everything was delicious! I ordered the breakfast papusas and my boyfriend ordered the sweet plantains. The chef offered to make the papusas vegetarian for me… they were served with 2 eggs, salsa, and avocado on top… so good! It’s great to have a new spot for brunch in Boulder that has some unique menu items. Can’t wait to try more!

The perfect place for a cozy romantic candle light dinner date with excellent food. They also gave us an appetizer on the house. A must visit place.

This restaurant just opened but apparently the chef/owner has quite a following from his previous place out in Lafayette. It’s wonderful to see another restaurant serving significant, full and interesting meals on the Hill. It’s a good sign. The menu includes Spanish/Latin foods and Italian classics along with some Asian standards like Pad Thai. The owner had graciously lent part of his space for some neighborhood discussions and put out a few introductory appetizers. I was too busy to have any, but the place smelled great. I had looked at the menu before the meeting and decided that when my husband showed up to meet me after work, we should have dinner here. Good choice. While my husband was waiting for me to finish at the meeting, he sampled the treats and said they were quite good. We ordered our meal at the counter from the owner and took seats in the space still with seating this evening for regular diners.(Note– Though it is the Hill and counter ordering, he has real dinnerware and cloth napkins at dinner!) The space is divided into two separate eating areas by some typically weird Hill architecture. Maybe it was originally two places decades ago. Don’t know. We shared the fried brussels sprouts appetizer with a friend on her way out and we all agreed it was a great use of one of our favorite veggies. Apples and pistachios added good texture and contrast. My husband and I shared the stuffed chayote squash entrée since it looked huge in the pictures, and we were right. For a weekday meal it was more than plenty for the two of us. Nether of us had had chayote before and we liked it. A little crisp and pear shaped with a cheese filling and served over a simple tasty risotto and a slightly sweet sauce described as rustic tomato but clearly full of other things too. I find a lot of tomato sauces a bit too acidic and this was not. Too busy to interrupt for an explanation but I’ll get it next time. We each had an herbal flavored fresh brewed black tea, iced, and since the liquor license process is still ongoing(this is Boulder after all) so be aware it is currently the main drink. I guess there is coffee and tea with breakfast, but truthfully, for an «on the way home» dinner meal for us tonight, the iced tea was perfect. We plan to go back after Thanksgiving and try some of the other specialties. I have read the reviews of his former place that was lost to a real estate deal for the shopping center it was in(I think that a church bought the whole place for offices) and it sounds like this chef has a lot of talent. I would like to see the addition of a few small plate options at dinner because it would be nice some evenings for people like me. But if that doesn’t happen, sharing or taking home leftovers, when appropriate, is possible. I thought that the prices were entirely appropriate for the quality meals he serves.

Just touring through Boulder and stopped for lunch/brunch. Found this gem! I would have taken a picture of the eggs Benedict but it looked to good to wait! The chef introduced himself and explained this was his dream to do something different with high quality. If I lived here i would make it a regular treat!
