The Pampered Pooch Grooming

I really like this place the first time I went here for the puppy bath… But I brought my puppy back for a Nail trim. The lady insisted that I hold my puppy in my arms instead of putting him on the table to trim his nails. I insisted that we put him on the table because he was squirming a lot but she’s like no it’s OK you can just hold him. As she was cutting my puppy’s nails he was squirming and she cut into deep and made him bleed on 5 toes. I understand if she did it to him once it would’ve been OK but on each paw really???

Love this place. They always do a great job and give a bow or a bandana with every grooming. The prices are decent too!

I really enjoy bringing my labradoodle to Pampered Pooch for grooming. Ali, the groomer, does a wonderful job– she listens to what I want and never disappoints. I am always pleased when I pick up my dog– she smells so good and her fur is soft.
Astrid, the owner, is obviously a dog lover, and it shows in how she treats her clients. I recommend Pampered Pooch to all.

I’ve been getting my dogs groomed here for years. Audrey and Ali are fantastic! My dogs always come home calm and so beautifully groomed! We love them!!!

I just absolutely love all of the ladies at Pamper Pooch. My dog comes home with a soft shiny coat and a heck of a lot less hair. They always get him right in and they are so very sweet to him. Love this place!

It’s a nice place with nice people.

My dog Skye, almost 12, has always been a wreck at the groomers until I took him to the Pampered Pooch. I highly recommend the Pampered Pooch. Astrid, the owner, is gentle, loving, and unbelievably picky about the job she does. She cares about how my dog is doing in the grooming process, giving him treats (asked my permission first), breaks, naps, or whatever it takes to get him through it stress-​free. Skye loves Astrid and even though he still isn’t crazy about baths or shaves, he gets through them with her love and attention. He always looks gorgeous when she is finished grooming him or shaving him. I get comments from other people about his haircuts and how handsome he looks immediately. The cost charged is extremely reasonable for the time and effort involved I literally wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else!

I’ve taken my dogs to Pampered Pooch a few times now. They always come home with soft, clean coats and a lot less shedding. The grooming has always been done in the time quoted as well. So that’s the good. The bad is that the employees (except for one woman who I’ve spoken to on the phone before who seems really on top of things) seem… unfocused would be the polite way to phrase it. Last time I picked up my dogs, I walked in and the three employees continued talking among themselves until finally one of them asked, «Can I help you?» When I told her that I was there to pick up my dogs, she said, «Oh, I wondered what you were here for.» Well, why didn’t you greet me when I arrived? I had also warned the employees when I dropped my dogs off that my older dog has arthritis and that they needed to be gentle with his back legs. I don’t think they listened because he could barely walk the rest of the day.
If you have young, healthy dogs and don’t mind slightly uneven customer service, this place should suit you fine. I have no complaints about the quality of the work, only how they conduct it.

They do a great job grooming and my pup comes home happy. The first time he went in, we showed them a picture of a non-​standard cut and they did a great job (which was a relief after a bad experience at another place). The second time we brought him in, we forgot to bring the picture again, but they kept a record of what they’d done the last time and he looked adorable when he came home.

I really wanted to like this place — the ladies who work here were very nice and fit in my dog as a walk in. When I picked up the pup he smelled great and the service was well priced. I was happy with the whole experience, except for the fact that my dog got 3 treats while we were standing there… usually he doesnt get three treats in any given day.
But in the 2 days since the grooming:
1) My dog has been super lethargic — no tail wagging, no running to the door when I get home. Ok, maybe hes tired? He had been staying with a friend the weekend prior to the grooming so yea… maybe tired?
2) My dog has been walking super slowly and gingerly. Ok, his nails WERE super long so it probably hurt to get them cut…
3) This is the worst one — his neck now is SUPER sensitive. He Unilocal when you touch it. He has gotten groomed at two different places before and this has NOT happened. All i can think of is that he was held too tightly in whatever contraption keeps them still while they get bathed.
Next time my dog gets groomed in Boulder, I will have to try a different groomer. I’m not sure what happened at this place, but overall my dog has not been acting normal since he got home.
