Boyne Mountain Resort

Way too many Dank Memes. Most resorts have at least 1 — 2 orphanages, this one had none. Lots of Plebs. Also the chair lifts did not have cup holders and were soaked with butter. And because it was so buttery an old man tragically slid off the chair and flailed into a dank meme of the ground. However butter was not for sale at the (Doge) Lodge. The hill was also shaped too similar to a goats nipple. Friend lost virginity to tree. When you got to the top of the hill there was a lodge, to me it closely resembled a giant flaccid horse peni5. Also The hills were to steep. Not enough Donald Trump ads. I only saw one ad for Trump which was quite depressing. #BuildTheWall. Saw Iron Man and he 360 no-​scoped 2 Asians, proceeded to load them into antiaircraft weapons. He aimed the anti air cra– F**K CITRUS FRUITS. There was a hill called the Titanic (Tit-​anic) featuring and iceberg jump, which is very offensive to me because over 9000 of my cousins died on the Titanic (Tit-​anic). Someone got their wang stuck in the iceberg jump and I hit it and fell to my death. After I was revived by ski-​patrol they gave me to a feminist. I ran away from the feminist and saw 2 birds in the sky. Wait, 2 birds. 2+2 is 4, 4 divided by 42 = .952 380 952 380 952. .952 380 952 380 952 divided by .952 380 952 380 952 = 1. 1 is the number of good Transformers movies. Michael Bay made Transformers, Bay has 3 letters, a triangle has 3 sides. Illuminati confirmed. ⁰⁄₄₂₀ would not fap to. Also the amount of doritos and mountain dew fggots that were on the hill was drowning me with their dank memes.

Had a great family ski/​ride day here. This resort is extremely family friendly. My 5yo daughter went to ski school. This was her first time on skis so I was nervous for that piece and nervous for dropping her off with strangers. Her instructor was wonderful! When we peeked in at lunch time, her instructor was braiding her hair. I later learned she cried for an hour at lunch but let’s concentrate on the positive. ;) my son took a lesson in the am, again positive review. The runs themselves were good (for the midwest) just crunchy groomers — out of the resorts control here. There were some great mini terrain parks to try which was fun. All in all, great day. You cannot get better customer service than here. The staff was friendly and eager to help in every way!

Definitely a favorite escape of ours. The Mountain Cabins offer a level of tranquility and relaxation that city life living makes you yearn for. From the hot tub on the deck, towel delivery service, and free shuttle to and from the Grand Lodge, Boyne resort offers a truly luxurious, up north adventure that is unrivaled for the 3.5 hour investment it requires.

My review is for the spa in particular as we did not stay at the resort. I truly hope this review not only helps others interested in spa services but also the resort itself as I believe it has potential but is lacking much.
I don’t believe this spa really should be able to take that title on. While the atmosphere was ok and ‘spa-​like,’ the first sign of concern was that there were no women and men locker rooms. Instead there was a closet in the waiting area in which to put any of your articles (no locks). (I use the word ‘waiting area’ because that’s what it felt like versus a spa lounge.)
Secondly, given no locker room or changing area, we were not offered a robe before our massage so you simply undressed in the room and stacked your clothes on a chair in the room. Not much of a chance to get into relaxation mode.
The masseuses and all personnel were very nice. The 50 minute Swedish massage itself was ok, though the motions felt rushed.
Upon requesting the shower facilities, we were directed to an area outside the spa to a public restroom with a shower in it. Cleanliness and privacy were both significantly lacking. The spa did provide sandals and a robe which were of very nice quality; this would have been great to start the experience off! However no washcloth was provided.
It was our anniversary and the spa did provide a complimentary bottle of champagne and was very friendly.
All in all we payed the same price for two massages as we have at many other upscale spas that offered a much nicer feel and experience.
To sum it up, if the spa could:
— create locker rooms and a private changing area to put on a robe
— private bathrooms and showers facilities
— enhance the lounge experience with more privacy, music, aromatherapy, etc. a space to truly relax before the service would be significant!

We’ve been coming up to Boyne mountain every summer for the last 8 yrs. The customer service has gone way down. During our most recent trip (we always stay at the main lodge in a 2– story unit) first night before dinner, the shower tub backs up with garbage in it, then at 6 am the next morning, security is banging on the door asking me to identify a drunk man that can’t find his room. Really!!! 6 am on vacation for $ 400/​night? Not coming back.

Wonderful area up north. This resort has everything you need. Boyne Mountain is beautiful. In any season you can find plenty to do for the whole family at the resort. It is very clean and updated. We loved the view from our room overlooking the fountain and beautiful resort. The spa is lovely and the staff is very friendly. Dine at the restaurant or go for Pizza in the Trophy Room. Both are a great time. We golfed at the course overlooking Deer Lake. Take the drive up the mountain to the golf course even if you don’t golf. We saw 9 deer on the way up grazing in the meadows.

We came carve some runs and we did just that. The village has this party atmosphere outside which gives an atmosphere of fun. If you’re looking for a nice place in Michigan where there’s plenty of runs to keep you having fun all day, then you’ve come to the right place.
There’s a few lifts from the base that’ll take you to the top and from there you can carve down to another lift to take you to a different part of the mountain. Remember, there’s two different peaks, there’s the left peak that everybody runs down on. There’s a variety of different slopes you can take as well. from green to blue to diamonds, it’s all there. Then there’s the right peak, you can either get there by walking peak to peak, OR go down the right side of the left peak and stay left and keep going left past the terrain park to access the first lift on the right peak. From there, they have the longer runs which is great for free riding.
Don’t know what I’m talking about? There’s an area map right around the food court and the ticket counter. There you’ll plot out your plan of attack and see what it is that Boyne Mountain has to offer.
Are you a beginner? No worries, there’s a novice lift just for you guys. Just get a FREE Boyne day pass and you can practice how to break and carve without wasting your money. Not into skiing or snowboarding? There’s snow tubing as well. It’s always awesome fun to go down the slope with inflatables.
Their food court is really nice, they serve drinks and food just like any other food court. There are tables to put your food on and there are chairs around the tables to sit in while you eat your meal/​snack. There’s a big projector screen that shows clips and videos of big mountain snowboarding and skiing. It’s really nice actually, it kinda makes you wanna go back out and do all the things that they’re showing on the screen. There’s also a lounge at the peak of the left hill, there’s a 360° fire place to warm up your gear, then there’s a bar which you can have a round or two with your friends and family. Then enjoy the breathtaking panoramic windows in their sitting area. Sit down, shoot the breeze and/​or take a break while uploading all your pics to instagram.
This place is awesome, there’s always something to do for everyone here. That’s only for the winter time too. I couldn’t say much for the summer activities, but I’m sure it’s as much fun as well. Thank you for an awesome winter Boyne mountain. It was awesome finally meeting you.

Skiing has been great. We got here right after the crowds left and have great open skiing. One down side, the skiing is over at 4:30pm. It would be nice to ski until maybe 6 pm.
Room is nice, but shower had hair on the walls. Otherwise clean. Lots to do here, shopping, tubing, zip line, water park, pool, hot tub, etc.

This place was great. Last year was my first year skiing and I took a very helpful lesson. The runs are nice, the staff is friendly, and the lifts are sturdy lol.

We love Boyne Mountain. Our family finds it to be the best skiing in the Midwest. Lots to do in both winter and summer.
Friendly staff and beautiful location. Decent restaurants and shops.
The Grand Lodge is a nice new option to stay and it’s only a short walk to the slopes.

Skiing, half of the runs are closed but they still full price. Go to Nubs, cheaper, terrain park and the snow is better

Our stay at Clock Tower lodge, was just average. Room is overpriced for what you get. Rooms are overall cute though. Very noisy on a Saturday morning, walls are very thin. Very close to the mountain was a nice plus. Food in the main lodge was ok nothing great would prefer to eat else where for the price you pay. Been to better resorts.

Boyfriend surprised me with a zip lining tour! Such a blast. The staff did a great job making you feel comfortable and taking the time to explain things while also making it fun! Unfortunately we were just passing thru but we’re considering skiing here in the winter, the slopes look great!

Our first room was at boynehaus but we had to change because there wasn’t ramp access or an elevator. Now we are at the clock tower and it’s one of the strangest places I’ve ever stayed. At first glance it’s beautiful but then you realize it’s all smoke and mirrors. Fresh paint and décor with old furniture old doors with air gaps at the top and bottom. If you turn the heat or air on heat blows but never turns off. Opened the window to let some cold air in and the window is broken. We had to go outside and push it closed. Walls so thin we can hear our neighbors talking through the walls and the people above us making the mattress squeak. Also, what’s with the door saying vacant when you aren’t inside with the deadbolt locked. Seems like that’s an advertisement so you can get robbed. I’m apologizing in advance for my 2 month old that will wake up the entire hotel at 3:30 when she wakes up to eat :(we won’t be back.

We are big waterpark fans in my family so we decided to get a room at Boyne Mountain and give their Avalanche Bay a shot. We are a family of 5 but when you put 2 adults and 3 kids into the reservation search, the price was astronomical! So I entered just 2 kids and 2 adults and paid $ 190 and when I checked into the room, paid another $ 12.72 to add on my 3 year old to the waterpark.
First, the room was in the Clock Tower… it’s been decades since I’ve been given an actual key for a hotel room so you know the building is old and in desperate need of renovation. It seems they had just overhauled the rooms only but the décor seemed like the designer had just went to TJMaxx and picked up all the odd things she could find. The room was tiny and you could hear every little sound so it was very hard to get a good rest. There was a nice pool and hot tub behind the building so that was a plus.
The waterpark was nice as far as waterparks go. We went on a Monday in August in the evening and enjoyed almost no lines but went early the next morning and it was much busier. Lifeguards seemed like they were all 14 and not that focused on the watching the swimmers.
The kids did enjoy the free chairlift ride, s’mores and games on the lawn and we paid $ 20 for our oldest to zip line which he loved.
It would be nice to find an actual family friendly resort that doesn’t gouge families wallets at mealtimes. We paid $ 15 just for cereal and milk in their café so you should definitely pack food.
At the end of the day I wasn’t as wowed as I had hoped to be and the lack of a good night’s sleep didn’t help my opinion.

Boyne Mountain is definitely the best place to ski in the lower peninsula! I’ve been skiing at Boyne Mountain since I was a kid and nothing else around compares to the variety you get at Boyne. You can easily ski Boyne with a group of people of all ski levels — which is probably the only reason why my Dad didn’t go crazy toting three kids around when we went skiing together back then. Now, as an expert level skier, it’s the only place I can ski in the lower peninsula without getting bored. Super Bowl and the moguls on the Meadows can’t be beat!
Boyne has also kept its character through the years. Nothing beats sitting around the fire in The Eagle’s Nest with a cup of spiced wine or hot chocolate or warming up with all the ski bums in the halfway house. They’re my two favorite warm-​up spots at any ski resort!

We were debating Great Wolf Lodge and Boyne Mountain Resort for a fun family overnight the third weekend of September. We ended up in Boyne because the cost was about the same and we’d been to GWL before. The waterpark at Boyne was far superior, and the room was nicer too.
We made the right choice and had a great time. I had read quite a few reviews before booking and decided to book a room in the main lodge since it seemed to be the newest and most up-​to-​date part of the resort. We had a huge room (301) with a full bathroom, living room with fireplace and bar (microwave, fridge, bar sink, counter, dishes, silverware) and sofa sleeper, and a loft with 2 queen beds, and another full bathroom upstairs. It was great that the kids had their own TV in the loft.
I thought that we really should have stayed two nights (though the cost would have been prohibitive) or arrived a few hours earlier to have time to hike. Check in was late (5pm), though our room was ready when we got there at 4:15. The girls wanted to go to the waterpark right away, so we went for an hour or so before we were so hungry we had to get out and get some food. We detoured for a ride up the ski lift and a hike back to the bottom, which was lovely. We ate at the restaurant in the clock tower building. It was a bar, and had bar-​like quality food. We had pizza (mediocre), a couple of grinders (pretty good), and a Greek salad. That had at least a cup of feta on it! We stopped for ice cream after dinner in the little shop right there in the resort «village». There was a guy juggling in the square when we were on our way to dinner, which was neat.
After dinner, we sat in the lobby enjoying the fire for a while, and headed up to our room. It was very quiet — I didn’t hear a single footfall from the hallway, and I am a LIGHT sleeper. In the morning, we ate the breakfast buffet at Everett’s, which was okay, but nothing great. The fruit was plentiful and good, but the rest was «eh». It was costly for the quality. Next time I’d know to bring food for breakfast, since the fridge in the room is decent sized, and there’s a microwave and coffee maker. We split up after breakfast, with half of us hiking up the ski hill to the paths at the top, and the other half going to the waterpark. Hiking was great, and we finally left the resort at noon.
The staff was very friendly. The early fall is apparently a GREAT time to go, since the resort seemed very empty. There were NO lines in the waterpark for anything, and we didn’t see another soul out hiking.

Meh, I just don’t love the mountain as much as other northern lower Michigan resorts. None of the runs are all that exciting to my husband and I. There aren’t any that we finish and say, «Let’s do that one again!» There are beautiful views of the surrounding area from up top but nothing the like the view of Little Traverse Bay from Highlands or Nub’s. It is nice that they have not one, but two, high-​speed lifts. But they have an area that is mostly greens, a few blues, and a couple blacks serviced by two of the slowest lifts I have ever been on in my life. No exaggeration. I want to keep skiing in that area but those lifts make me crazy. I have to go back to the other part of the «mountain» to keep my sanity.
I would recommend checking out Crystal, Nub’s, or Highlands before coming here.

For the past few years, my husband and I have bought the season lift tickets, and tried to go skiing as often as possible during the season. The silver pass has blackout dates where you cannot ski at the Mountain, but CAN ski at the Highlands. When the holiday crowds at the Mountain would be annoying anyway, the silver pass is all we need.
Most of the runs are groomed, but there are some moguls on Idiot’s Delight. There are plenty of steep runs for those who like it steep. Try Devil’s Dive or Nose Dive if you like a challenge. Not very long, but nice and steep.
There is a super pipe and the terrain park. What fun! I love the whoop-​de-​doo section. Just watch out for fallen children.
