East Coast Mechanical is exceptional, very friendly and reliable.
For the past two (2) years, I had been using various companies for A/​C checkups and repairs; however, I had not had very good service, or quite honestly, did not feel I could trust the companies and technicians that came to my home. They were expensive, never seemed to give straight answers, and seemed shady.
After having spent a large amount of money on various repair services the past few years (A/​C multiple times, garage door, toilets/​plumbing, refrigerator, etc…), I felt it was time to purchase a home warranty (after I learned that the repairs I previously paid for would have otherwise been covered). Although still somewhat skeptical, I purchased a home warranty from East Coast Mechanical a few months ago.
To present, I have contacted them for service on two occasions, once for plumbing repairs and a second time for A/​C repairs.
The plumbing job was straightforward and taken care of expediently.
When they came to my home to troubleshoot and repair the A/​C unit, I got very unfortunate news that my A/​C unit was leaking and ultimately I would need to replace the unit. Derek, their A/​C technician, was exceptional. He was very friendly, personable and patient. He took time to explain everything to my wife and I (multiple times), and to guide us through our various options. In the next few days, when the A/​C installers came onsite to install the new A/​C unit, they were also exceptional. They were very friendly, personable and put me at ease through the entire process.
I can’t speak more highly of East Coast Mechanical. Although only having used their services for a few months, they have been very responsive, reliable, and overall a good (local) company to work with.

The electrician came on time, replaced the switch and fixed the light. He was in and out in less that ½ hour. What a great job.

Installation was done on time and in the time span promised. Area left clean as though they weren’t there.
Wrong filter size information was provided resulting in the purchase of an incorrectly sized filter.

This the second year of our contract with ecm. yesterday i called them to come and fix the same problem that we had last month and have almost every other month with Ac pipe leaking water. I told them I wont pay another $ 45 dollars copay as its hardly a month since last service. The person confirmed that I wont be paying any $ 45 this time. After the service they called me today that they are putting the contract on hold since I did not pay them. I do not mind paying the money but after confirming that there will be no charge, they are asking for money and put the contract on hold. The supervisor was rude and did not want to listen to my point of view. Thats is really not acceptable. i would never renew our contract with them.

DO NOT USE ECM!!! I called to find out what it would cost to get a coil replaced under the warranty because ECM put the system in 3 years ago. They were not very plesent on the phone, 1^st guy I spoke to did not want to help me and said every one was at lunch and to call back in a hour. I called back and spoke to another person who also had the I hate my job attitude and when I explaned what i needed she said. AND! I was suprised every person I spoke to had a very nasty attitude. It really is a shame that a company does a super crappy job installing something and then tries to charge $ 840.00 for something that is covered by warranty. She said it was there flat rate fee! I called another compay who was all to happy to help me with my problem for less than $ 590. I was warrned about ECM but I gave them the benifit of the doubt with the hopes they would back there work but NOPE! STAY AWAY FROM ECM!
I do not know how to respond to the comment that was posted by the ECM company but if she wants the name of the girl I spoke to i do have that as well as the time I called and so forth. As far as the price I tried to explain to her that we don’t need freon because we just paid $ 375 to fill it a week ago an I know it can be stored in the condenser but the nasty chic did not want to hear that an told me that is standard fee. I found it several hundred dollars cheaper by another company and clearly I am not the only one with customer service problems. I have been in the customer service industry since I was 14 and I’m almost 35. Maybe they need better training.

Won’t stand behind their work and refuses to work with manufacturer to procure warranty replacement.
We have an yearly service contract with ECM. Beyond the fact that they will not do an emergency call even if there is a leak or an A/​C issue (remember, FL has many elderly consumers) off hours … their service was decent … until now.
In 2012, they procured and installed a kitchen faucet which was paid in full for. That faucet just recently failed while under manufacturer’s warranty. They refuse to work with the manufacturer to provide technical details of the defect, and to at the very least … provide the necessary information needed in order to procure a replacement under warranty, claiming that fixtures are not within their contract.
While this happens to be true when one studies the fine print, I am at a loss to understand why they did the original work back in 2012, and why are they offering to do the work NOW to replace the part with a brand new one (obviously at a higher cost). So basically, they hide behind this clause in the contract when it comes to providing warranty coverage, but they are willing to do the work if they can install a brand new part at an increased cost to an established customer. Smells from inconsistency and from taking advantage of a client to me.
While I don’t expect ECM to cover the labor costs to replace the faucet, I also don’t expect them to abandon a 92 y/​o woman given with a leak in her kitchen faucet that they did the original work on. I DO expect them to work with the manufacturer to provide whatever information is required to obtain the replacement part under warranty and to perform the work at a reasonable labor cost. Thus far, they have refused. They claim that they cannot work with manufacturers because the warranty is between the consumer and the manufacturer.
They also refuse to allow a consumer to speak with the next level of management. There was absolutely no interest in customer satisfaction/​service and even no spirit of compromise or interest in discussion. They also made claims that manufacturers won’t deal directly with them which I found to be inaccurate.

Wow. Reading these reviews confirms my suspicion. My experience was with the salesperson trying to sell me a contract. I received a quote by mail which indicates that if my appliances are newer I am eligible for discounts. Except for fridge and oven, all appliances and systems are new less than 5 years old. Instead of a lower cost, my new quote was 100 more than original. I asked for explanation in writing and salesperson continued to call expressing «confusion» My husband called to speak to a management level person and no callback yet a week later. After reading the reviews I’m convinced that this company business model is for techs to up sell as primary goal. Repairs secondary. They avoid putting anything in writing except the legalese of the contract which regular people can’t decipher. We live in a 55 plus community mostly elderly and I think these people prey on elderly with fixed income seeking peace of mind. My husband is a lawyer and said that these practices may rise to the level of fraud. We are going to investigate.

What a poor service organization!!!
We got a call that our contract was not being renewed due to too many visits the last year.
WHAT???
After calling several times today to speak with owner Jose Ramirez, I was informed that he doesn’t speak with customers.
WHAT?
i proceeded to explain to the uninterested operator that the reason ECM had visited so many times is due to their utter incompetence! One time we had a tech here, who was an «expert» on water heaters. He came back three time with three different parts.
WHAT EXPERT???
This is the company you need if you don’t need anything.
Otherwise seek real professionals when needed this type of service work.

terrible service after coming out on a friday and 6 days later they recieved the part in the mail (i guess they never heard of OVERNIGHT) to get a simple part in to fix AIR CONDITIONING… lol im pretty sure ac should be fixed asap… not whenever-​ap… this company is no good and is a joke… use someone else
*the technician that finally got to my house a week later was great… just wish i was given the option of overnighting the part… a week without air is not fun

Tried to commit fraud! I have had contract with this company for over 10 years on 2 homes, in that time I had small repairs. last week I called for a check of my a/​c which was working. I «service tech» told me a cooling coil needed replacement, I have a engineering background and this did not sound believable. So I called their office to question this, they offered to send another of their tech to double-​check. he came yesterday and bore out my doubt, nothing was wrong with my system. So if I accepted the $ 986.08 quote (OF COURSE IT WAS NOT COVERED) on my contract, this company must pay, all I got was we made a mistake! I wonder how many mistakes a day they make? p. s. I wanted to talk to the CEO Jose Ramirez, but they shield him from customers!

Emergency AC service in 60 minutes or less ! Duh-​first time we called today and was told that no one is available-​call back tomorrow !!!

Sneaky and misleading. We have a contract for replacement on all our appliances including hot water heater and A/​C. Every year they send us the renewal and it lists all the same coverage as the prior year. Our hot water heater recently broke and needed repair. ECM came out and told us it needed replacing. They then told us it would be $ 1387 To replace it. They indicated that the fine print on the back of our contract said we were only covered on replacement for up to $ 250.00. They had changed that over the years but did not ever let us know and all these years we’ve been paying for replacement per our original contract that we renewed every year and on the back in fine print they changed it. In addition, our neighbor with the same house and same hot water heater had to have his replaced 6 months ago, and ECM’s competition replaced theirs for a total of $ 300 including the permits under their replacement. ECM then told us they would take off $ 500. Bringing the cost down $ 875.00. We canceled our contract and will never use them again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
My experiences:
1^st time: Shows up at 6pm for service scheduled between 12 – 4.
2^nd time: Wasted an entire day waiting for service, technician shows up at 1pm for service schedule for 8 – 12. Technician ultimately left because «couldn’t find parking». Seriously? Had to reschedule the next day. Another wasted morning.
Call operators are rude. Never apologizes for being late. It’s like they are doing you a favor.

COMPLETE FRAUD AND RIP OFF!
The company is selling you a «service contract» than service tech will come to you home, tell you it is not covered repair, you need to pay additional money. Rip Off.
Here is what happen– bought a contract, called for service, plumber from ECM came, told me that wall need to be demolished to get to the pipe, and more and more and more– 8 pages. Total cost of repair $ 1050.00. Called other plumber for a 2^nd opinion– fixed pipe within 1 hour cost of repair $ 175.00. Called ECS– asking how can that be-​got an answer– we are for profit company and can charge whatever we want. So, ECM in business to rip customer’s off, thinking customer already paid $ 400 and will want to loose this money!

We just started using ECM about a month ago and our contract has already paid for itself with a fridge repair and leaky sink. The staff is courteous and quick. They even call to see if they can come out earlier. I’m so glad we decided to use them.

I have a complaint against East Coast Mechanical (ECM) with whom I signed a Service Contract in July 2014. When they advertised an air conditioner tune-​up at the special rate of $ 49.95, I decided to take advantage of this offer.
On May 11, 2015, I requested ECM for the tune-​up. Their technician arrived the next day and stated that the Coil was leaking and recommended that it be replaced. He quoted a price of $ 840, which he withdrew after he learnt that I had an annual Service Contract with ECM. He left after calling his Main Office to order a new Coil.
I was contacted the next day (May 12) by ECM and asked to pay UPFRONT the sum of $ 250 so that they could arrange to get a replacement Coil. When I questioned the charge, I was told that it was for «Warranty Processing». I protested that the amount appeared too high for the simple work involved and that my Service Contract should cover this work.
I was then told that if I didn’t have the Contract, the charge would have been over $ 1,500. I mentioned to the person at the other end of the line that his technician had quoted $ 840. He refused to believe me until I read out the exact wording that the technician had written in the Work Order. I was then told that if I performed this function myself, I would end up paying a lot more then $ 250.
Having little choice since the summer is almost upon us, I decided to pay this outrageous sum and get my a/​c unit in working order.
Since then, I spoke with the Service Contractor who takes care of my air conditioner and furnace back in New Jersey. He told me that the sum assessed was ridiculous. Warranty processing takes a short amount of time and can be easily accomplished by working on a Computer and making a couple of calls. He went on to say that this appears to be a Scam operated by some employees of ECM and that I should protest to the Management of the Company.
I am more than convinced that I am a victim of over charging. Having a Service Contract with ECM put me in a false sense of security.

Horrible customer service. Not willing to help a disabled elderly woman. They are nasty on the phone. In the past when we have used them, nasty workman who left house a mess.

I‘ve had ECM for the past 15 years and they have serviced both of my homes. Their annual Contract prices are very competitive and even cheaper then their smaller Competitors. They gave replaced failed garbage disposers, unclogged sink and tub drains, repaired multiple toilet problems, repaired both my refrigerator and ice makers, recharged and replace a complete Lennox (freon-​free) Central Air System and their price was (lower) then 4 other estimates. Take the «negative» reviews with a «grain of salt»! Being they were from Delray Beach & Boca Raton, need I say more?

Absolutely WORST bunch of (fill in the blank) s I have ever encountered! Do yourself a favor and spare yourself the frustration!
Where to begin.
Visit #1 Had to call them to see why our A/​C was leaking. They came out and fixed it, but suggested a new unit.
Visit #2 — They came out UNANNOUNCED to take pictures and stuff of the old unit for my landlord.
Visit #3 — After landlord agreed to have it replaced, they showed up 1 ½ hours late to replace the A/​C (an all day job btw) because they showed up at my landlords house and not our place. (fill in the blank!)s
Visit #4 — A/​C was making weird noise, so I called them … they came out, need part came back day later for
Visit #5 … none of these visits did I ever receive a phone call, even though I asked them several times and gave them my phone number each and every time to call me. Visit #6 … the work done on visits #4 and #5 were completely a waste of time as stated by the new repairman and it needs a different part, for which they will call me to set up yet a
Visit #7. And Today is that day. The 4 hour window of 11 — 3 … completely IGNORED! It’s now 3:38 (they’re not here yet and I just spoke to customer NON-​service) and after they promised to call ME after giving them my number yet again yesterday when making today’s appointment, they called my LANDLORD to let him know they’re running late. Why call him? He doesn’t live here nor does he even know about the appointment. I’m the one that has had to wait here all day to let them in. I’ve given them my number every time I have called and it’s maddening that not only will they not ever give me a courtesy call when they’re on there way, which they have promised to do at each appointment I’ve made with them … but they have to keep coming out because nothing has ever been done right!
When will this ever end???

Initially refused to replace parts covered specifically by their service contract. Next day received a phone call stating they would indeed make necessary repairs per their contract. The manufacturer of the appliance was recommending replacement of the complete assembly rather then just the bad parts. ECM then agreed to replace the bad parts per their contract rather than the complete assembly which was NOT covered by the contract. Thank you ECM.

We had a tech come out today. All we needed was a search for a leak in the line. His only solution is $ 2000 for a new coil or $ 4750 for a new ac.
This company is only interested in pulling as much money out of your pocket as possible.

On Friday, arranged for a new a/​c to be installed and they were supposed to show up and fix the a/​c unit on Monday. They didn’t show up. They knew we were out of town and told us Monday they didn’t show because since we were out of town we had to pay up front for their services. We had put a deposit down and have never had to pay for a service ahead of time. Arranged for them to go back another day and again they didn’t show up. The company said that if we gave them our credit card # they would put a temporary hold for the amount until the service had been done. Well, guess what? They didn’t show up again. It’s been 2 weeks trying to get the a/​c fixed. We never received a call and no one in their company knows a thing. But they did charge our credit card. Supposedly they are going to check into it. Since we are out of town kind of hard to arrange for another company. Will never use them again and hope no one else does either.

A useless company. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would.
We pay around $ 700 per year for a service contract on all of our appliances in the home. Recently our microwave oven stopped working. They refused to fix it and stated that they would write us a check for the current value of the microwave ($ 180) when a new one would cost nearly $ 1200. They state that it will cost too much to repair. Furthermore, they will not install it. This company is a joke and as dishonest as they come. I will be cancelling contract and get my premium prorated.
Their customer service couldnt be any poorer. A terrible company and rudeness beyond comprehension. BEWARE!!!

Beware!!! Had them for years to service my appliances. As they got older and I needed service, they would come out and bandaid the problem. They advertise free replacement if they can’t fix it. It’s all a crock. They will keep coming out to your home and waste your time sitting home waiting for them. I don’t know anybody who has ever gotten a new appliance from them. I also had them install a new A/​C on the roof of my rental property and they didn’t install it correctly which caused a leak inside the townhouse. They said it wasn’t their fault. I love their tv ad with the owner and his two daughters and they say that ECM is the company that cares. Yes, all they care about is charging you their yearly rate and ripping people off.
