Elle’s Belles Bakery & Café

Wow. I work a job in sales and I am just truly shocked! They won’t sell us cookies for our daughters wedding because we are getting cupcakes from another bakery! I am sorry we couldn’t fit your cake price into our budget but wanted to throw you some business as well by getting your cookies. But to call my daughter and tell her you won’t make her cookies… WOW!

You get what you pay for. Elle is pricier than other bakers in the area, but she produces amazing desserts that are both extremely tasty and jaw-​dropping to look at from an artistic standpoint.

Tried to order cake for my kids bday and never got email or call back. Looks like service is only by selection. Anyone with accent or different zip code may as well go somewhere else.

At the end of a 2 week grueling film schedule, I learned that one of my crew members had a birthday coming up. He has very strict dietary needs and I was worried that it would be hard to find a bakery that could make a gluten-​free masterpiece for him. They responded quickly, answered all of my questions; stayed in constant contact with me, made pick up and payment easy. We can’t wait to see the look on our audio mixer’s face. Well done!

Elle’s creation for a surprise twins baby shower was simply amazing! Incredible fondant and display of artistry for our Dr Seuss themed cake. Not inexpensive, but worth every cent. Delicious, moist layers of dark chocolate and vanilla cake, with fabulous buttercream in between. Elle’s staff was also excellent to work with and delivered the cake to our venue at no extra charge. Very well done, highly recommended!

So I was relocating from Minneapolis, MN to Monterey, CA with 2 cats and knew I’d be spending my 35^th birthday at a Day’s Inn in Bozeman, MT. My boyfriend, already in Monterey, called Elle’s Belles and asked them to go above and beyond as a surprise for me, delivering a small cake to the hotel for me to receive upon check-​in.
Arriving at the very busy hotel, disheveled and feeling sorry for myself, it was finally my turn to check-​in to my room. The front desk clerk retrieved this absolutely beautiful chocolate cake covered in fresh raspberries and a lovely birthday greeting written in frosting. The gesture alone made my day. But the actual cake itself was so amazing! I’d recommend this bakery on the awesome service alone, but good grief was that cake delicious. Love love love this bakery. I took the cake on the road with me to my next stop in Elko, NV and probably ultimately consumed more cake than anyone spending hours sitting in a car should consume. But it was worth every calorie.

Wow! Elle’s Belles made the desserts for my sons graduation party and they were exceptional ! I ordered the Blueberry Lemon Love cake and you can definitely taste the Love! She put the Montana State logo on top and it was just gorgeous! I also ordered the rainbow trout sugar cookies and not only are they delicious but they are so realistic you almost feel guilty eating them. I live on the east coast and had to plan this party from across the country and Elle’s Belles did everything to make our celebration so very special.

Every treat I have ever eaten or seen from Elle’s looks as good as it tastes. Elle makes a sugar cookie that is to die for and they are actually slightly addicting! Ive been to numerous weddings that have had her cakes there and they are stunning! I’ve called Elle last minute for things and she has always accommodated. She also surprised me at the Breast cancer Fundraiser we had with about 200 cookies that she donated to the event! If Buying local and supporting someone that gives back to the community is important to you, I would highly recommend Elle’s Belles!

We recently had Elle do a dessert table for our wedding. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I really appreciate Elle’s (and her staff’s) aesthetic and taste level.
I «heard» it was delicious, as well. I obviously wanted the guests to have first crack at desserts and they were completely cleaned out an hour or two later when I went to sneak a bite. I’ll take that as a pretty positive endorsement.
Elle is a sweetheart and I’m sure we’ll book her again for something in the future…

We had Elle do our wedding cake & groom’s cake this weekend & it was AMAZING. No way will I let the leftovers go in the freezer — we’re eating them, stat! From the very beginning, Elle was super warm & seemed genuinely excited to work on the cake.
I knew exactly what I wanted the bride’s cake to look like & had no clue what the groom’s cake should be. I gave her a pretty general suggestion of «golf» but didn’t want anything too cheesy. Elle delivered on both fronts — she got every little detail of the bride’s cake right & blew me away with the groom’s cake.
We checked with three bakers, and this was definitely the most expensive place but totally worth it. The cake tasted better & looked better than anywhere else.
Elle may come off as a little scattered (our order was scrawled in red Sharpie all over a piece of scratch paper), but check your inner bridezilla at the door & roll with it. You won’t be disappointed.

I wish there was a way to give zero stars. Yes, Elle’s creations are delicious. But, her business practices are completely unsavory.
I had been a great customer over the years, so when we had family coming to town for the 4^th of July, I called Elle and placed an order for 5 pies and 2 dozen whoopie pies. She asked me to send her a check and told me my order would be ready for pick up at her commercial kitchen by 5 pm on the 3^rd. When I went to pick up my order, the kitchen was locked up tight with no one there. I tried to contact Elle without success so left her several voicemails over the next few days and went back to the kitchen twice, also without success. Since I never heard back from Elle, I was concerned something was wrong and hoped everything was ok.
After several days of no return phone call, I called Elle again on the 7^th and she answered on the first ring. When I asked her what happened, she was very apologetic and explained that she had gotten overwhelmed with completing wedding orders before she was heading off the grid for the holiday weekend, but had made my pies and had given instructions to someone else to be there so I could pick them up, but that person never showed, etc. I was understanding and not angry; mistakes happen. She insisted that she give me the pies anyway because they were already made. I told her my family was gone and I really didn’t need 5 pies and 2 dozen whoopie pies anymore and that I would just like a refund. She said not only would she give me a refund, but she would give the pies to me at no cost and have them delivered to my house. While I appreciated the gesture, I told her it was unnecessary. She insisted because she appreciated «how cool» I was over the whole thing. I just wanted a refund. But she was insistent about giving me my order. I told her I would even pay for half of my order because I didn’t expect to get something for nothing, and she said no, I will absolutely give you a refund. That’s where things took a turn.
Someone did drop the 3-​day-​old pies at my house, but I never got a refund or the whoopie pies I ordered. After emails back and forth promising to resolve the issue in a manner I «so rightfully deserve,» I didn’t get a penny back of my nearly $ 125 order, and she didn’t return voicemails. I even saw her at the grocery store a year after this whole thing happened and she pretended like she didn’t see me. I can only assume she doesn’t have the $ to refund, but don’t say you will do something and not follow through. Had she been honest with me, I am sure we could have figured something out. Lying to your customers and then basically stealing their $ isn’t good business practice. I won’t purchase anything from her ever again. There are plenty of talented bakers in the Bozeman area who create delicious desserts AND keep their word.

Unfortunately, when I called the lady seemed very unwilling to help me with my small order. I needed some gluten free cupcakes and had heard about Elle’s Belles. She suggested that I find a different bakery because she had bigger orders to fill and she did not like to «mix business» as I had ordered other cupcakes for my wedding from somewhere else. To top the experience off, the lady made sure that I knew she would not have taken my call had she known it was business call and only answered because she had expected it to be a personal call. I was very disappointed to find a business so unwilling to help a month before my big day.

Elle and her creations are AMAZING!!! I hired her for our wedding in October and the variety and flavor of our dessert table was perfection! I would hire her time and time again! :) YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!

I wanted to send a gift to a friend — and while I was nervous about ordering from a store without actually trying their services beforehand Elle’s Belles made it SO easy. They replied to my e-​mail within hours (and I sent it on a Sunday night!). They had great communication, worked within my budget and had a super nice attitude. I hope I’m in Bozeman soon so I can check out their baked goods in person!

I was in Montana to throw a baby shower for my bestie, so I had to rely on the Internet to find me a good bakery.
It’s a bit frustrating trying to pick a bakery based on websites, but since Elle’s Belles had a shiny super nice site I decided to go with them.
I called the bakery a week before the event to ask questions and place my order. The girl who helped me on the phone was very nice and helpful. She explained the difference between the two different types of cupcakes that they offer. I ended up ordering a bunch of red velvet with cream cheese frosting, chocolate with cream cheese frosting, and white cake with chocolate frosting. I was super worried that because I told them that this was a baby shower and that I requested blue frosting on the chocolate cake they would make the frosting a disgusting baby blue color (I abhor baby showers that are all baby-​ish), but they were a beautiful deep blue like I requested!
I choose to go with cupcakes because I liked the idea of variety and different colors to go with my décor. Although it wasn’t any cheaper than a cake, the taste made up for it. They were delicious and a HUGE hit with the ladies!
The actual storefront was fun too. The bakery is located by the college and is situated in a ye oldie time western looking building complete with a real bonafied hitching post for your horse. It was pretty dang cool. Inside was cozy and the display case was tactfully stocked with amazingly tempting treats calling out to be tasted. The set up was unpretentious and I could picture just hanging out there with a coffee and treat, reading the morning away.
If I lived in Montana I would be in trouble. If you live in Montana I hope you have tried this place, and if you have not… Well you should!
