Island Creperie

This is another place that, based on the location, size and appearance, would get four stars, but… the food is incredible and the service matches the food. We have breakfast here more often than we should. As you might guess, crepes are the specialty. The owner/​chef is obviously French. Don’t look outside and you’d think you were back in Paris!
Breakfast and lunch only…

Not very impressed. Service was great but food was just ok. It’s items quite sweet and at times flavorless. Some might call it light… It is French but of your hungry, it’s just a bit too light. We did like the potatoes.

This is our favorite breakfast spot. There is a wide variety of both sweet and savory crepes, which are expertly prepared and quickly served. Any wait you might experience in getting a table is worth what shows up on your plate. The dessert crepes, be warned, are drowning in liquor — really too much and overpowering. But there is so much else to choose from, we don’t think about it. It’s a lovely place.

Such a refreshing change of fare from the tourist trap fried shrimp basket here on the island. The crepes are excellent but the fried potato side dish? Fabulous! It takes a few minutes longer to cook them but worth the wait. The croissants are real and so is the brioche. The sweet and sour breakfast is perfect and Save room for a desert crêpe from their extensive list. I would come here for the dessert alone!

Had a very nice lunch there today. I had Their special, Melba crêpe which has peaches, pineapple and cherry, strawberry and honey. It was very good. My wife had a power berry salad which she also liked very much. My sister in law had a French hot dog which was good. My brother in law had an Atlantic sandwich which has smoked salmon and he liked it also. The waitress was very friendly and service was very good. Definitely a good place for breakfast and lunch. Oh almost left out their Ooh la la crêpe dessert. It was great!

My family had lunch at the café today (dec 15,2015)and we unfortunately did not have a good experience. The food was average and the service was below. Im a vegetarian and from the website advertising it appears that there are lots of vegaterian options. I was a bit disappointed with the few options. The worse part was that the waiterss gave me the bacon quiche by mistake instead of the vegaterian quiche. Unfortunately she was not very apologetic for her mistake. In fact she said «if you taste bacon then thats the bacon quiche» needless to say. We would not recommend island creperie

First let me say the staff was INCREDIBLE great customer service. I was not a fan of the food we got a little bit of everything and the best thing ironically was not the crepes but the french toast. Overall the food with the price left all of us kind of wanting more, like something was missing. I probably would not go back.

The Island Creperie is a nice little, local breakfast stop. Tried the Sweet and Sour while my wife tried the British Buck, both our meals were brought out hot and fresh! I had never had creeps and was pleasantly surprised by combination of flavors packed in the crepes and combined (sweet and savory) flavors. Worth a stop if you are looking for something different from the normal pancake offerings!

Breakfast this morning was great. Our favorite breakfast spot on the island. I love their French toast! My husband always has the sweet and sour breakfast and loves it. Any kind of crepes you want and great regular breakfast options. They have great service in a great atmosphere. We heard it was under new management, but the menu and quality seem very much the same.

Tried a little bit of everything here this morning. So good! The crepes are amazing and the service was great. Would love to come back here again!

My husband and I came here for breakfast during our vacation in Anna Maria Island, and we loved it. My husband has an egg allergy so sometimes it can be hard to find a breakfast place where he can have much selection. The service was very friendly, the décor was simple and elegant and we both very much enjoyed our food.

My wife and I loved this place for breakfast — beautiful décor, great staff, and of course… great food. Don’t shy from the buckwheat crepes… they taste fantastic!

I am leaving 5 stars because we did not actually eat here. But this place is not little kid friendly. We walked in the front door, then right back out. It was a full restaurant, but extremely quiet. We did not want to disturb anyone’s breakfast with our loud 3 year old. I do look forward to trying again with just my husband.

The most wonderful French bistro on Anna Maria island. I got what is called a sweet and sour. It’s a buckwheat crêpe that is stuffed with egg and ham with mozzarella cheese. Then you get a side of a sweet crêpe. It was so amazing I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I ate here twice for breakfast while staying in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island. I ordered the sweet and sour breakfast each time. I chose to get ham, scrambled eggs and cheese in my savory crêpe, and then the sweet crêpe came with just sugar and syrup, however I added jam and whipped cream. Both were amazing! The ham, egg and cheese were the perfect combination and hit the spot! The first time we went my husband ordered a Nutella crêpe with fruit. He wasn’t a fan because he thought the fruit came on the inside of the crêpe, but it did not. The next time he ordered the same as me, ha! Overall, this place is fantastic and we will definitely come back next time we are here. I love the purple walls and French feel! Awesome!

The sweetest experience was had at this delicious gem of a creperie. My mother organized a bridal brunch for me and about 10 ladies and everyone was so pleased. Our server was Peggy who was wonderful. The French owner/​chef (I want so say her name is similar to Natacia) came out to give her best wishes and it will be cherished for a lifetime. She genuinely told me to ‘enjoy my moment’ in her French accent… with so much sincerity. it makes me teary now!
My mom’s bag of decorations/​favors for the brunch was lost by Frontier airlines, and the SWEETEST staff helped turn napkins into flowers to decorate the table. I will truly never forget this experience.
The food was delicious, and we had mimosas (of course). I had a ham and cheese crêpe and added pears (a reviewer below mentioned this was a problem — but it was no trouble for us), as well as a nutella crêpe. Everyone liked their meals, but it was the ambience and sweet staff that made our experience truly unique.

I was looking for good restaurants while on vacation, and I came across Island Creperie and since I absolutely love crepes, I thought it would be a fun little place to check out while here.
My mom and I decided to try it out. We found a spot to park, kind of far away, because I can’t park the giant beast of a van we rented, and walked a few small blocks to the restaurant. When we walked in, I noticed how tiny, and cozy it was. There were dark walls, and pretty damask lamp shades hanging. When we walked in, we were greeted and sat at a small table by the window. The same woman who seated us, was our server.
She was attentive, helpful and very nice. She took our drink order and we were deciding on what we wanted to eat. Everything looked so good, it was hard to decide. When our server came back, we ordered. I ordered the Miami Sandwich, which is a french baguette with tuna, tomatoes, black olives, mayo and onions. It comes with hard boiled egg too, but I requested it with no egg, and it wasn’t a problem. I also got a butter-​sugar crêpe on the side.
My mom got the Big French Breakfast, which is a large piece of thick french toast, a croissant, and two crêpe rolls, with strawberry jam. She also ordered a side plate of ham and a latte.
I will say, the chairs were a little uncomfortable, because they are little bistro chairs, but if you have a little butt, you probably would think they were fine, lol. They also seemed a little disproportionate to the tables, because I felt like a giant at the table, with the chairs.
Our food came, and the presentation was very nice, my baguette was nicely cut in half and it came with a fresh salad on the side. The french dressing for the salad was actually very complimentary to the sandwich as well. The tuna sandwich was a little bit bland, I expected the mayo to be mixed in a little, but I barely tasted the mayo. Because of this, I poured my french dressing on my sandwich. The crêpe was just okay to me. I have been to France and tasted authentic french crepes and these didn’t really taste authentic. They were kind of heavy, and spongy, and less airy and lacy. The flavor was nice, I just expected it to taste different.
My mom liked her meal as well, she thought the best part was the french toast, saying if we went back she would just order an entire plate of that. When the ham came, it looked like deli ham just rolled into pretty rolls on the plate.
It was kind of pricey for those things, costing almost $ 30 for a sandwich, small meal, crêpe and latte.
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice, and quiet, as we went on a Monday morning to avoid weekend crowds.

I ordered the warm brie salad which was two nice slices of brie on top of thick toast and a small drizzle of honey. It was served on a bed of lettuce with a tangy dressing on the side. I found it to be very good and comforting. Also shared two dessert crepes, the chocolate coconut crêpe (delicious but very sweet so a good one to share) and the fruit crêpe (superbly topped with fresh fruit at the peak of flavor).
The restaurant itself was very cute with bright purple and gray colors, and a good location in the middle of a little shopping area.
