Above The Rest Carpet & Tile Cleaning

Purchased the Groupon deal earlier this year. Made appt and he showed up. He started telling me all the additional charges it was going to be due to the spot removal he would be doing. I was fine with that. I have a 2 bedroom apartment and i didn’t even want the bedrooms done since they didn’t need it. I just wanted the dining room, living room and hallway done.
After he was done — it was an Additional $ 50.00 !
What a rip off!

I do not typically write reviews. I signed up for the Unilocal app specifically to write this review. I live in a small apt. And paid for 2 – 3 room carpet cleaning through groupon. The area to be cleaned, carpet, is 12×12 combined with a small dining room area measuring 5×6…all of which took the guy literally four minutes to run a carpet cleaning adaptor attached to a long hose (very light) attached to a carpet cleaning machine. This was not labor intensive work. When I asked if he could run the hose over my sofa he wanted to charge me an extra $ 75.00. Its not like I was asking for a free service since what I received was a truncated version of the service I paid for (not 2 – 3 rooms). It might have taken an extra two minutes for the guy to run the hose over the sofa. He was just not nice and although nobody works for free neither do people pay for nothing. Also, the area he supposedly cleaned… wait for it… isnt even clean.

Bought a coupon on living social– called to redeem it, had to schedule appointment 2 weeks out, calls me 5 minutes before the appointment to reschedule. After I complained about moving my 7 piece couch he then said he would be there an hour late «due to traffic». So I requested the refund and told him not to bother coming that is was really unprofessional to do that. He said «okay whatever, I’m only 40 minutes away. That’s fine»

Chad came on time, but didn’t do anything beside wet my carpet. He offered a «deep cleaning» at extra cost and wanted to charge me $ 10 for doing a short hallway. He was in and out in 30 minutes, and none of my stains came out. After he left, I used some spot cleaner and was able to get rid of almost every stain, which tells me Chad didn’t use any chemicals at all. His company should be named «Below the Rest.» Will never use them again.

Undependable… made commitment and never showed up. Rude too.

I brought this deal on Groupon and I most say that i was very unhappy with his service. The day of my service i was scheduled with a window between 1pm-​3pm. He called and asked if he could come an hour early and I explained to him that i blocked time specifically for those hours (as my schedule is a very tight one). I told him I would be there around 1:15ish, he responds with, ‘well we will see because I will be there right at 1.’ I MISSED MY CLASS, RUSHED HOME TO BE THERE BY 1 AND NO CARPET GUY. I CALLED HIM AND HE DIDN’T ANSWER. HE CALLED ME BACK 10 – 15 MINS LATER AND HE WOULD BE THERE IN 20 MINS. This guy made it to my home at 2pm. Boi was I pissed. Then while cleaning my carpet he was very rough on my stairs and the corners of my walls. I asked him if he saw how he scratched up my walls, he said, if you wanna I say I that fine I wont charge you for the hallway… REALLY MF… I can’t. $ 10 you go to hell… TERRIBLE SERVICE
Not to mention he cleaned 3 rooms and a hallway and tried up charge $ 75 for spot cleaning. He was done in 15mins. Wth

Today i had my carpet cleaning, our appt was for 11 but the guy called at 9:50 and said he was running early and was 10 minutes away. i told him i was not home to let hi in and was at an appointment and that i would be back at the time of the appointment. he asked me if there was anyway to let him in sooner so he wouldnt be behind the rest of his day so i had my roomate who was also not home, but still in the area, to stop what he was doing to let him in. 15 min later i got 2 back to back calls and had to interupt my therapy session to make sure it wasnt an emergency. the guy said he had to charge me extra if i wanted the whole house done, even though i bought a voucher for $ 119 «whole house» i have a 4 bedroom. he told me the master bedroom was large so it counted as 3. i called my roomate and asked him to deal with the situation as i was in a therapy session. once i was out i called my roomate to see what happened. he only did 3 rooms. He did not move any of the furniture, he only cleaned around the couches, chairs, coffee tables etc. He told me he was very rude though out it all and was in the home a total of 20 minutes. THere were 2 groupons available one for 3 rooms and one for «whole house» i paid for the «whole house» i called the guy after i was home to ask if he would come back and clean the last room in order to assure future buisness with me as that is what i thought was fait and he was very rude to me demanding the voucher number that he left without getting, my entie experience was stressful and my carpets are still not clean. I would like a refund. He didnt even move the light furniture like the papazon chair in my room or the 3×5 rug next to my bed. i am going to have to pay for another person to come and redo the job he did as i am not pleased at all with his work. i rarely get this kind of service done but just got a new puppy so was looking for a reliable carpet cleaner for future use. the carpet looks as if it has been vaccumed and nothing more, i need someone to do a real carpet clean to get the puppy accidents out of the carpet. thanks for your help i will also be writing a thorough review on google and on the groupon site of my experience

I am kicking myself for falling for a carpet cleaning Groupon with Above the Rest Carpet Cleaning. This company is not by ANY stretch of the imagination above the rest and should be renamed Worse than Ever. I could have done a much better job with my Kirby vacuum’s shampooer but I’ve always done that and thought I’d give myself a break. My appointment time was 1:00, and Chad Nelson and his assistant rolled in at 3:05. He immediately began telling me of extra charges and I told him I only want what the Groupon covers. Right then, I could tell he shut down and his mission was to get in and out of my place as quickly as possible. The groupon I purchased said «Armed with the whirring engine of a commercial portable, the technicians at Above the Rest transform homes with powerful steam cleaning. A team of trained technicians purge carpet, upholstery, and tile of accumulated stains, dust, and contaminants.» Well, all he did that I could see, was wet my carpet. There was nothing powerful and no purging of anything. All the stains, dust, and contaminants are still there. There is no smell to the carpet whatsoever, which along with all the dirt that is still there indicates to me he didn’t use any cleaning solution at all. It took him 10 minutes to clean 4 rooms and 2 closets. He never went over any area twice. The entrance to every room is still dark and the spots that were there before are still there. I asked him if he could get those areas clean and he said no. It took Chad longer to put his hoses away than it did to actually «wet» my carpet. I can’t say clean, because they are NOT clean. He also charged me $ 5 sales tax on «chemicals» which would mean he used about $ 70 worth of chemicals at my place. .. NOT! I am 100% sure he didn’t use any chemicals, only water. This was a complete and utter rip-​off and I’m disappointed in Groupon for offering services that have gotten bad reviews. I posted a review on his Facebook page and quickly realized there were many other BAD reviews about his service. Wish I had seen them before I purchased. He has since deleted that page and started a new one, one that doesn’t allow reviews! I would like THIS review to be on the Groupon page to save someone else from what happened to me. Very, very disappointing. My Groupon was for $ 119 of carpet cleaning, which I find mind-​boggling for what was actually done. .. nothing! It was for a FULL HOUSE of up to 5 rooms. I had 4 rooms and 2 closets and he still charged me $ 5 for each closet. Chad’s advertising is completely false. The Groupon should just say «Buy this Groupon and you will get absolutely nothing unless you pay me more money when I arrive.» Do not be fooled by this scammer!
