A program like no other! Culinary Arts at MTI offers an exciting, hands-​on approach to the world of fine cuisine. Students learn by cooking on a daily basis, rather than spending days of classroom time on theory or lecture. Becoming a chef is more than learning how to cook. Our experienced instructors cover subjects including nutrition, professionalism, plate presentation, meat fabrication, baking & pastry, and event planning.

The Bistro at MTI offers exquisite, three-​course meals, created and served by culinary students, for under $ 10. Open Tuesday-​thursday, 11 AM to 1 PM. Please call for reservations.

Advanced placement is offered for professionals currently in the industry who can demonstrate their knowledge in various subject areas. Earn up to 20 college credit hours towards a degree in Hospitality Management. Florida articulation agreeements include State College of Florida, University of South Florida, and Johnson & Wales University.

Manager

Pastry Chef Dana Johnson has been in the culinary industry for over 11 years. As a graduate, and recognized as an outstanding alumni of Manatee Technical Institute, he has continued his education, studying under well-​traveled chefs from around the world.
