stupid, rude — rednecks!!!

Dreadful!!! Every review for this place is 1 star… Duh!
I was recommended to these guys from AAA, they must know someone there.
After the AAA tow to this shop, i got a decent quote, but when i went to pick it up, not only was there a whole lot of other things worse, but the prices suddenly changed.
In addition, they told me because i had an extended van, the labor rate is a truck rate… alot higher than cars… i never heard of this, it is the same hood, the same engine and the same lift that the regular size car uses.
The owner, Elmer is extremely rude, and was ready to start a fight with me. If i hadn’t read all the ‘rave’ (ha ha) reviews of this place, i may have thought it was me.
When i brought the van home, it wasn’t really running that great, so i called them up to tell them. Elmer told me to take it somewhere else, and hung up on me!

I was called to Elmers towing by a 75 year old woman today to make a key to her car which she sold to someone 6 years prior. That person never registered the cae in there name. So it was still in her name. They told her since the car was in her name that she was responsible for all fees for towing and storage, which came to 800.00 Dollors.
She told me this story when i arived, I asked if she paid them, she said i just did. I quickly made a key only to find the motor was no good, making the car worthless. She asked me go into the office and ecplain that the money was her entire social security check, and she was under the impression she would be able to drive the car home. There response TUFF and if you leave the car here they would charge her more storage fees. So i called a tower friend of mine, and he towed her car to a place where she could store at no charge untill she could figure out what to do. I asked the man why he cant give the money back and take the car to the scrap yard where they 150.00 dollors and not screw a 75 year old on social security, he promtly told me to get the Fxxk off his property.
How a thriving business like that could take advantage of an elderly person is just really low. Sure anyone can tow a care, But when it comes caring about the people in our community, there own customer. I give Elmers towing A BIG THUMBS DOWN. SHAME ON YOU ELMERS TOWING.
Of corse i did not charge her for makin the key .

Elmer’s is a rip off. I was in an accident I asked the trooper to call AAA, Elmer’s showed up in a timely fashion was very polite and assured me that they would handle everything. I received no help from the driver’s Insurance co. that hit me. After 4 days I called Elmer’s to find out how to get my car back to my house so that I was not paying storage fee’s. I was told I had to pay $ 425.00 in CASH to get my car out. At this point I called AAA and asked if they were billed by Elmer’s and they told me yes. I called Elmer’s back and was told they were not paid by AAA. I then asked my insurance co. to help and they stepped right in. AAA told Elmer’s that they were trying to double charge and that was not acceptable. My insurance co. GEICO took over and told the owner of Elmer’s that they were coming for the vehicle and would only pay storage at $ 25.00 a day and it would not be cash. I wonder if all those CASH transactions are recorded and taxes paid. BEWARE bad place. By the way the owner said it was just a misunderstanding!!!
When you are involved in an accident you need people you can trust, they are not trustworthy

I don’t like going to the mechanic because I’m always afraid they’re going to say something like «Oh, ma’am your car’s rotating schmittering blop switch has failed and it’ll cost $ 400 to fix» — it’s all Greek to me. Well, it actually happened here. We took our PT Cruiser in a couple of months ago because the starter kept having trouble. They looked it over, replaced the starter and off we went. Well, it kept happening — although intermittently. We took it back this week. They had it for a couple of days and said they couldn’t make it happen and as far as they were concerned, if they can’t make it happen — it isn’t happening (yeah, like we really love having the car in the shop for no reason whatsoever). Then they said they didn’t have time «for this s**t» if we can’t «prove» it’s happening. (riiiggghhhtt, there is nothing we enjoy more than wasting other peoples time with make believe car problems.) We were then told that they think it’s the flywheel. A few minutes later it’s «the ignition switch is double engaging». WHAT??? We asked another mechanic what that meant and when he stopped laughing, he said he’d take a look at it. I’m not saying they’re bad, I’m not saying they’re good. What I am saying is this — next time I need work done on our vehicles, it’ll go someplace else.
