History

Established in 1986.

Suncoast Gem Laboratory is the only Accredited Gemological Laboratory on the Gulf Coast of Florida and Tom Seguin is the only Master Gemologist Appraiser on the Gulf Coast. Since 1986 Suncoast has been offering Diamonds, Gemstones and Jewelry of all types for just above wholesale cost. We offer loose diamonds and GIA certified diamonds. We offer diamonds of all shapes including round diamonds, marquise cut diamonds, emerald cut diamonds, princess cut diamonds, and pear shaped diamonds as well as all the other fancy cut shapes available. In addition to all of the diamonds we provide, we also offer gemstones and jewelry of all types. We can provide ruby, sapphire and emerald jewelry. We offer gold and platinum jewelry including engagement rings, wedding rings, diamond tennis bracelets, diamond earrings, diamond pendants and necklaces. We can make a custom designed, one of a kind piece or we can provide the classic, timeless treasures that have been in style forever.

Business Owner

Tom studied at Manatee Community College before beginning his career in the jewelry industry. After college, Tom went on to get his Graduate Gemologist’s degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He then became very involved in the jewelry industry. Tom was on the Board of Directors for the Accredited Gemologist Association and the Regional Governor for the southeastern United States. While holding that office Tom organized several of the most successful educational Gemological conferences ever conducted by the AGA.

Tom was a chapter officer for the Florida GIA Alumni Association and a Director on the International GIA Alumni Board of Directors. Tom is a Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers and holds the coveted Master Gemologist Appraiser designation. Tom also holds the NAJA designation from the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
