We have a complete paint department and provide services as screen repair propane refill, glass cutting, key cutting, pipe cutting. April through October we open Whitmore’s Country Garden and have a great selection of nursery product.

History

Established in 1896.

Whitmore Ace Hardware was established in 1896 with our first store in Wilmington. Whitmore Ace Hardware now consists of 4 stores in Wilmington, Braidwood, Manteno and Manhattan Illinois. The Whitmore family has withstood the test of time keeping the customer number 1 in everything we do. Owned today by Mike and Mary (Whitmore) and sons Michael and David, we intend to keep this tradition alive. As your local Ace Hardware, our store is a member of the largest retailer-​owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,600 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries.
