Best Spanish food I ever had! The dish I ordered came with rice, which isn’t like the hard rice you normally get at other Spanish restaurants. So good and fresh. Came with complimentary chips and four different type of salsas.

I just officially moved back to the South Shore and Cielo was the first target when exploring outside my usual. Let’s carry this review in reverse… The dessert in which I originally rejected, then caved into just a scoop, ended up being slaughtered… well just half of it due to my date. We had the flan in-which, décor wise looked great, but then as I intruded her plate, the bites got bigger and the drool got heavier in-between chews. Mind you, I eat dessert like once or twice a year so this was a big deal. On to the meal which was the Mole enchilada, which was f***ing amazing. Best I had, and trust I had tested quite a few. To add, it wasn’t spicy, although it normally is, and the portions were perfect. I’m definitely please this place is close to me cause I’m devouring that same meal a couple more times before I move onto something else. Last was the drink, Mexican Mojito. I wasn’t too much of a fan to be honest. It tasted a bit sugary, which really meant there was a bit too much simple syrup in it. On top of that it was small, and I don’t know if that was cause of the tequila but it definitely wasn’t hitting that night so I can easily pass on that. A couple of other draw backs were leaving the plates that were not being used when the dinner arrived, I mean, it’s a small table, it’s automatic to remove or inquire what to take away than wait til the very end. Also the table was a bit sticky and they only have one bathroom. I know it’s a small place but coffee shops even have a couple. Can’t lie though, I appreciated the faucet… very unique. All in all, my belly deserves to be a repeat offender here, so thumbs up!

I wanted to like this place so badly. I really did. But from start to finish, it was awful. The chips were stale and oddly tasted like old movie theater popcorn. They were served with 4 bowls of salsa/beans. All of the salsas tasted canned and not fresh. The beans were just literally pinto beans out of a can with no seasoning. The margaritas were ridiculously watered down and heavy on the margarita mix. Man, even the tableside guac was disappointing. No salt. No garlic. No flavor. And the entrees, don’t even get me started. My daughter got a burrito off the kids’ menu and it was literally swimming in a sea of liquid, cheese-whiz like cheesy sauce. My husband and I both got steak — which was super dry, tough and tasteless. A few bright points — our waitress was very nice and perfectly attentive. And they have a cool reservation notification system. I feel like it’s hard to screw up Mexican food. Just keep it simple and fresh. And unfortunately, this place fell way short. Won’t be back.

In a land of urban sprawl and major chains lovingly know as Braintree Massachusetts, a mexican gem is nestled on a loud and vivacious motorway. I’ve been back three times — soon to be more. THEFOOD: Quality and well seasoned meats! Homemade guac ordered according to your spicy-need pallet. Thick chips. All abundantly portioned. THEDRINKS: A variety of ‘ritas and other inventive cocktails are offered and shaken before your eyes. ALFRESCO: I don’t know if they just got outdoor seating or if this is my first time on the patio because summer decided to wait until late June this year. Sun is great. Traffic noise is deafening. Maybe they can put another patio outback for a quieter experience? THESTAFF: Totally accommodating. They even asked if a large party could consolidate, so that my friend and I could also dine outside. On another occasion the mariachi music with commercial breaks was blasting over our table, and they cranked it way down so that we could enjoy a relaxing lunch. Just beware, the restaurant is tiny and popular, so a wait us almost assured. Enjoy!

Delicious! The place is small but cozy and very clean. The staff is very friendly. The food was amazing. Everything was clearly fresh and homemade. The chips and the different salsas were yummy. Both of our dishes were delicious and came out quickly. I got enchiladas and they were to die for. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.

This is our first time here. It was really a great Mexican restaurant — our favorite Mexican restaurant in Boston. My sweetheart, who is from LA, says it compares with really good Mexican restaurants in LA — which I never expected her to ever say… She’s a real purist when it come to Mexican Restaurant — so that is saying a lot when it comes from her. The food is all freshly made… the guacamole is made«from scratch» right at your table !!! The hot dishes are served hot and the cold dishes are served cold. The staff can’t do enough to meet your every wish and are extremely friendly. A great place to eat Mexican food !!!

Ok, only my first time here but everything was outstanding. The Chori Pollo is delicious. The flan is top notch. The taco salad was good, the chicken on it was excellent. The enchilades mole pablano were more smoky than sweet and good to the last bite. The rice is light and tasty and the black beans are rich a savory. Given the northeast has average Mexican restaurants for the most part, this is the best I’ve been to so far. Cruz was our waiter, he was attentive, funny, gracious and gave great recommendations. Worth the trip and I would go before to many more people find out about it.

I thought it was just your typical tex-mex, not very authentic but pretty good nonetheless. Guacamole was good and then my sister and I shared the enchiladas which were interesting-potions were big and they give you free chips and salsa so we were full after that.

Literally nothing positive to say. I can’t imagine anyone coming here more than once other than my mother-in-law, who has a phobia of leaving Braintree and would eat out of a trash barrel to avoid driving outside the town limits. This establishment boasts slow service; weak, sugary drinks; and bad food. The manager’s excuse for poor service is that«none of their employees have experience in food service» and they are«understaffed.» I’m not a businessman, but that doesn’t seem to be a good business model. The drinks are extremely watered down, especially for $ 14 each — we ended up having to get shots of tequila on the side with our margaritas(add another $ 7 for each drink), bringing each glass of glorified sour-mix to a grand total of $ 21. Along with their sugar water, the food is terrible and inconsistent. The meat is bland, chips are stale, and the tortilla soup tastes like sadness and disappointment. If you’re terrified of traveling more than 5 miles from your home, then this is for you. If you’re a normal, eat elsewhere.

UPDATE: I want to add onto my review that despite negotiating an outcome with the manager to refund us for our unsettling experience the past several months, they still have not reached out to me about such refund despite MY efforts to follow up with them multiple times. This is truly disappointing and speaks clearly of their lack of customer service.

What I enjoyed: The excellent food. What I loved: The interaction between the owner and the customers — I felt like I was at an old high school reunion with old friends, except I had just met them. What I thought was unique: 4 Different types of salsa that are served in really neat«lazy Susan style» bowls. What I disliked: Too bad it was a lunch time visit, I would have loved those Tequila shots that were offered to me 3 times by the owner and the patrons.

I came back. But this will be my last time here. The waitress was friendly, but constantly visited my table asking me if I was ok, is the food good, do I need anything else, water?, anything else off the menu and I barely finished my food or enjoyed my drink. I felt rushed The food tasted rushed. Just thrown together real quick

I’ve been looking for an alternate Mexican on the south shore to La Paloma in Quincy for a long time and none have passed muster until now. I really like this place, its authentic looking, has a great bar and our server couldn’t have been more pleasant. Chips and salsa to start, 3 different salsa’a so something there for everyone and a bean dip. We started with table side guacamole, amazing, one of the best i’ve ever had, we let the chef make it as he would have it himself, was a perfect balance of cool avocado and spicy peppers, excellent job! The burrito’s are huge, i’d seen some pictures on here so knew i could get away with splitting one, which i’m glad i did, we got the pork(carnitas) and was not disappointed. Other members of our group got tacos, carnitas and steak and both were very happy with the quality and size and were served with refried beans and rice. All in all a great experience, certainly will be back.

Hmmm… I’m not sure if I liked it or not to be honest. Mexican is my favorite food. so it was a no brainer where I was going to meet my friend for lunch today in Braintree. I’ve been dying to go here for several weeks. I ordered up a quesidilla one of my favorites! It came with a side of rice. I’m really not big fan of rice. I asked if I could have a different side. He wasn’t so happy. However, He let me. I got mashed potatoes. The mashed were very good. My quesadillas were very small. Yes, I know it’s lunch. but, wow. we’re talking small. I’m not in any big hurry to rush back here. and it’s too bad! I LOVEMEXICAN! The chips are super thick and not thin I like thin tortilla chips. They give you for different dipping sauces. I really just like a nice chunky salsa. you don’t really need to get all fancy. Why do you need to dip beans with my chips? Waiter had ZERO personality and was not friendly by any means. The place itself inside and is really neat!

We drive by Cielo all the time and never thought to figure out what it was or, more importantly, how it was until a colleague suggested it. Don’t let the cover fool you, Cielo is quite dainty with a bar that seats 8 and maybe 10 tables scattered about. The host desk was empty(she was bussing a table) when we walked in but that didn’t stop several staff from greeting us and letting us know that she would be with us in a few. We set in one of the two two tops next to the bar seating. Being small, I wished the chairs were adjustable cause the table was an awkward distance from both of us to eat comfortably. Our server was nice and was quick to approach and follow up throughout the meal. We received the complimentary chips with three types of salsa and pinto beans on the side. Chips were fresh and the hot salsa is a bit potent. I opted for the California burrito which was quite large as others have mentioned. I found the chicken to be a bit dry and the burrito itself a bit mushy in some spots(they use puréed black beans). Bites were I got some lettuce and pico were good with the added crunch. Good margarita list that was $ 10 a piece. I opted for the jalapeño margarita cause it was different and it was good. I wouldn’t say too strong but there’s tequila in it. Overall, a good date spot that offers more authentic Mexican cuisine. We will be back.

Our family finally got the opportunity to try this place. Caution: This place is super packed on weekends and overly noisy, so make sure you have time to wait for your table. The waiting area hardly fits 2 couples. We drove here on a weekend and found this place packed so we left. We decided to revisit the place on a snowy friday and true to our belief it wasn’t packed. We were greeted with tortilla chips and 4 different sauces arranged according to spice level as below: Red tomatillo(very spicy) green tomatillo(spicy) Fire roasted Salsa(medium) Charro style pinto beans(mild). The tomatillo sauces were awesome. Then we ordered fried calamari for appetizers which was good and decent size for an appetizer for 10 $. For the entrée we ordered chile-lime salmon(16.59 $) and California burrito with chicken(12.25 $). Honestly the burrito could be shared b/w 2 people thats how big it is. The burrito and tacos are what they do good. Chile-lime salmon dish was on the mild side and i felt the salmon was a little undercooked. Their customer service was good. Well received and the waitress helping us was kind. However the service was a little rushed. We started working on our chips and boom! the appetizers get in within 5 mins. We then started working on appetizers and within our first 3 bytes we realize that our entrée has arrived. The food was definitely hot and fresh but i wished they could have worked on the time in between the course. The inside ambience is good but the bar area is shared with dine-in and has an awkward layout. So obviously when bar area gets a bit noisy it kind of gets on to the nerves of people wishing to have a comfortable dine-in experience. Oh by the way i tried out their sangria and it definitely lived up to my expectation. Overall the Braintree neighborhood is definitely in need of a variety of dine-in’s and apart from the noise level and rushed service this place is worth a try.

Ever since moving to Weymouth in April, I have been on the hunt for a decent Mexican joint and until yesterday evening, every restaurant we had tried fell short. Last night, my prayers were answered and we have found our new go-to spot. The restaurants seats 58. It’s small, cozy and intimate. The noise level never became overwhelming. We grabbed two opens seats at the bar(which seats ~10) after we walked in and saw there was a wait for tables. We always prefer sitting at the bar anyway, so this, to us, was a score. Immediately we were greeted by Francisco who welcomed us to the restaurant and asked for our names. We watched as he ran the restaurant from behind the bar, reminding his servers to put limes in the Coronas and to clear plates when it appeared guests were finished with their food. He did this all while making one of the best caipirnha’s we’ve had this side of the Mexican border. When asked for recommendations, he was always quick to suggest items but was careful not to be bias. I asked which was better, the Blood Orange Margarita or the Yucatan Margarita. He told me, «I can’t say which is better because then I would be biased… but if you want more bang for the buck(margarita’s are $ 10.00 across the board), get the Yucatan because there is a tequila and Malibu topper.» DONE! We started with the queso dip which was a little on the thick side, but it tasted so yummy we hardly cared. They also serve chips and four dips free of charge while you are menu-browsing. The dips are a spicy tomato sauce(muy caliente!), a mild tomato sauce, salsa verde, and a bean dip(whole beans, not refried). My husband ordered the California Burrito with Chicken and I ordered the Chile-Lime Salmon with chipotle mashed potatoes. The burrito was about the size of an arm! Full of so much flavor… it was fantastic. My salmon was beautiful, served over a bed of veggies and the chipotle mash… I could eat a bucket of it every day. It was by far one of the best salmon dishes I’ve been served… ever. I’m so glad that Cielo opened and I hope that folks enjoy it as much as I do so that they stick around for a long, long time. We’ll be back and I can’t wait to try more stuff off their menu!
