La Quinta Inn & Suites Tampa Brandon Regency Park

Im torn on the rating here. Great location right off I-​75 next to a lot of restaurants, shopping mall and Starbucks. A lot of my relatives were in this town for a funeral and stayed at other hotels but ours was the nicest and near everything.
The front desk clerk was very friendly, we checked in around midnight with no issues. The room is a good size, it seemed liked maybe it was handicap friendly with alot of space, double doors opening to the bathroom etc.
I would never in a million years use a hotel coffee maker but there is one and it is plugged in and stored in the bathroom on the counter so I would think twice about using it if I were you. Think about all the airborn droplets with every flush. Gross.
The AC worked great, and the beds were comfy.
There is no fridge or microwave (my parents stayed in a red roof inn and had both of those) so something to think about if its important to you.
We were enjoying our stay and as we got ready to head out and check out, something caught my eye on the wall. It was everyones worst nightmare regarding hotels. A single bed bug was crawling on the wall. I had never seen one in person but I took a picture and googled it. It crawled slowley on the wall for the remaining hour we were there. We reported it to the front desk and he immediately said he would take care of it, that they have not had an infestation in years and it was probably just a lone hitchhiker.
The good thing is neither one of us had bites and kept our suitcase zipped the entire time. But Im not taking chances, Im leaving it in the car for a week as I heard the heat will kill any that snuck in.
On our way out to breakfast we passed the continental breakfast in the lobby… did not look interesting at all. There is a starbucks a minute away and a krispy kreme 2 minutes away.
All in all, the hotel seemed okay but the bed bug ruined it for us.

So I’m local, but we are having some minor work done at my home and needed a room for 1 night. I have to say this is the nicest La Quinta Inn I have ever stayed at. My only issue is that when we reserved it, we were told it was only 2 doors away from the elevator to accommodate my handicapped mother, we were actually 2 doors away from the opposite end of the hallway from the elevator. I’m thinking it was an honest mistake and they thought the rooms were in reverse order.

Definitely dissapointed after staying a couple more nights. There were guests running and yelling in the hallway. I called reception and they said they would come upstairs and help which they did but the screaming and running continued. If you are looking for a calm place to stay, this is not it.

Hey, it’s not the Ritz-​Carlton… but for what it is, it’s pretty good.
We had to be in the area for a week for a family event, and needed a pet friendly room. LaQuinta provided just that.
It was convenient (right off I-​75), clean and comfortable. We didn’t experience any smell or noise because of dogs.
The free breakfast is alright. You can make a waffle or toast a bagel… and there’s juice and coffee. If you need better bean — there’s a Starbucks (drive-​thru) right down the road!
The best part of the stay for us was the service. Because we had events to attend, our dog stayed in the room. That made scheduling cleaning a challenge — but the front desk just had us tell them when we were going on an extended walk, and they slipped in and had everything AOK by the time we got back.
Sure, the rooms could stay to be updated… but all in all, we enjoyed out stay. The dog had no complaints either!

Loved staying here! This hotel is nestled in some beautiful trees but close to highways, shopping and restaurants. Loved going to corner bakery, starbucks, the mall and cheesecake factory! About 20 min. from Tampa, St. Petersburg and Ybor City.

We got in super early & our room was ready! We have a nice dorm-​sized fridge & microwave. We’ll probably go to Publix for snacks.
No loiterers in the parking lot so far (they usually come in after work time — out of town contractors) & haven’t seen or *heard* any doggies. Got a nice bit of rest… ready to go out & visit people.
Made the waffle, it was warm & fluffy! THEN, I used the «fitness center» to jog 5 miles.

Pass on this property!
Stayed here for six nights. This ‘pet-​friendly’ hotel was more like a kennel where owners left their loud, barking dogs unattended in the rooms until late at night. Room smelled like urine and mildew; linens went unchanged until we made a call on the fifth day to housekeeping. Awoken at 4:00 am to the banging of dumpsters being emptied in the parking lot. Back door wouldn’t accept key pass entry for three nights. Ended up calling their corporate office; got a partial refund for our inconvenience.

Mediocre but mostly clean. We were in Florida visiting family and stayed at this hotel for just one night.
The bedroom area was fine-​pretty basic and spacious.
No refrigerator in the room or microwave, but our neighbor (also family member), had both.
The bathroom was a bit on the dingy side. The tub floor was very stained-​so it looked a bit dirty. The shower line (plastic, ewww), slides toward the middle because it’s on a curved bar. Made showering annoying.
The breakfast was fine. only until 9am. We enjoyed it.
It served our needs for one night.
The grounds were clean, lobby area very spacious, and the breakfast area was very nice.

Pretty mediocre. The hotel has smoking and non smoking rooms but there is a hint of smoke everywhere. The workout room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Sweat stains and dust everywhere. You get the sense that they are understaffed.

No issues at all. It’s a nice spot, the staff were friendly. Very nice actually. The pool was clean as well as the jacuzzi. The room was fairly big and clean as well. Would stay here again.

Clean hotel breakfast a little bit on the weak side but not bad.

In Tampa on business for a week I stayed at this La Quinta (there’s another one literally just down the street) and found it to be a very comfortable economy class hotel. My king suite was clean and very spacious with TVs in both the living room and bedroom; there’s plenty of hot water and with good pressure; the pillow top mattress and cotton linens made for a very comfortable night’s sleep; and the free hot breakfast, while not fancy (the fresh cut fruit was delicious) is decent and plentiful. I’ve had limited interaction with the staff, but have found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome here, and I can occasionally hear one barking, but the walls are thick enough that the sound is well masked. One of the big pluses for this La Quinta is the location, immediately next to I-​75 it’s easy to get anywhere in the Tampa area with relative ease, and within a short 5 minute drive there are plenty of shopping and dining options. Should work bring me back to Tampa I will surely stay here again.
