History

Established in 1982.

Ben and Patty Bloom started La Cuisine as a bakery out of their cottage overlooking Long Island Sound. The business soon expanded and moved into a space on the picturesque Guilford green. La Cuisine on the Green delighted Shoreline customers with artisinal cheeses and meats, fresh locally roasted coffee, and a wide variety of gourment foods. In addition, La Cuisine elevated breakfast and lunch cuisine by offering creative and inventive dishes incorporating the freshest market ingredients. A small loyal following began to request La Cuisine’s food for off premise events and the catering arm of the company grew rapidly. Fast forward to 2007 at which point Brendan Bloom (Ben and Patty’s eldest son) rejoined the business to open La Cuisine’s 44 seat breakfast and lunch café. In addition to an outstanding breakfast and lunch they decided to offer well crafted prepared foods and all butter baked goods. Check out La Cuisine Café, Market, and Catering!
